1And יהוה spoke unto Moshe, saying, 2“Make yourself two trumpets of silver; of beaten work shall you make them; and they shall be unto you for the calling of the assembly, and for causing the camps to set forward. 3And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall gather themselves unto you at the door of the Ohel Mo’ed. 4And if they blow but with one, then the princes, the heads of the thousands of Yisra’el, shall gather themselves unto you. 5And when you blow a Teru’ah, the camps that lie on the east side shall take their journey. 6And when you blow a Teru’ah the second time, the camps that lie on the south side shall set forward; they shall blow Teru’ah for their journeys. 7But when the congregation is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but you shall not sound Teru’ah. 8And the sons of Aharon, the kohenim, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for a statute forever throughout your generations. 9And when you go to war in your land against the adversary that oppresses you, then you shall sound a Teru’ah with the trumpets; and you shall be remembered before יהוה your Elohim, and you shall be saved from your enemies. 10Also in the day of your gladness, and in your Mo’edim, and in your khadashim, you shall blow with the trumpets over your Olot, and over the sacrifices of your Sh’lamim; and they shall be to you for a memorial before your Elohim: I am יהוה your Elohim.”
11And it came to pass in the second year, in the second khodesh, on the twentieth day of the khodesh, that the cloud was taken up from over the Mishkan of the testimony. 12And B’nei Yisra’el set forward by their stages out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud abode in the wilderness of Paran.
13And they took their first journey, according to the direction of יהוה by the hand of Moshe. 14And in the first place the standard of the camp of the children of Yehudah set forward according to their hosts; and over his host was Nakhshon Ben Aminadav. 15And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issakhar was Netan’el Ben Tzu’ar. 16And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zevulun was Eli’av Ben Khelon. 17And the Mishkan was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who bore the Mishkan, set forward. 18And the standard of the camp of Re’uven set forward according to their hosts; and over his host was Eli-Tzur Ben Shede’ur. 19And over the host of the tribe of the children of Shimon was Shelumi’el Ben Tzuri-Shadai. 20And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eli-Asaf Ben De’u-El. 21And the Kehatim, the bearers of the Mikdash, set forward, that the Mishkan might be set up against their coming. 22And the standard of the camp of the children of Efrayim set forward according to their hosts; and over his host was Eli-Shama Ben Amihud. 23And over the host of the tribe of the children of Menasheh was Gamli’el Ben Pedah-Tzur. 24And over the host of the tribe of the children of Binyamin was Avi-Dan Ben Gidoni. 25And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan, which was the rearward of all the camps, set forward according to their hosts; and over his host was Akhi-Ezer Ben Ami-Shadai. 26And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagi’el Ben Okhran. 27And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naftali was Akhi-Ra Ben Enan. 28Thus were the journeyings of B’nei Yisra’el according to their hosts. And they set forward.
29And Moshe said unto Khovav Ben Re’u’El the Midyani, Moshe’s father-in-law, “We are journeying unto the place of which יהוה said, ‘I will give it to you;’ come with us, and we will do you good; for יהוה has spoken good concerning Yisra’el.” 30And he said unto him, “I will not go; but I will depart to my own land, and to my kindred.” 31And he said, “Leave us not, I pray; forasmuch as you know how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and you shall be to us instead of eyes. 32And it shall be, if you go with us, yes, it shall be, that whatever good יהוה shall do unto us, the same will we do unto you.” 33And they set forward from Har יהוה three days’ journey; and the Aron HaBrit יהוה went before them three days’ journey, to seek out a resting-place for them. 34And the cloud of יהוה was over them by day, when they set forward from the camp.
35*And it came to pass, when the Aron set forward, that Moshe would say, “Arise, O יהוה , and let Your enemies be scattered; and let those who hate You flee from before You.” 36And when it rested, he said, “Return, O יהוה , unto the myriads of Yisra’el.”*
אוַיְדַבֵּר יהוה אֶל מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר, בעֲשֵׂה לְךָ שְׁתֵּי חֲצוֹצְרֹת כֶּסֶף מִקְשָׁה תַּעֲשֶׂה אֹתָם וְהָיוּ לְךָ לְמִקְרָא הָעֵדָה וּלְמַסַּע אֶת הַמַּחֲנוֹת. גוְתָקְעוּ בָּהֵן וְנוֹעֲדוּ אֵלֶיךָ כָּל הָעֵדָה אֶל פֶּתַח אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד. דוְאִם בְּאַחַת יִתְקָעוּ וְנוֹעֲדוּ אֵלֶיךָ הַנְּשִׂיאִים רָאשֵׁי אַלְפֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל. הוּתְקַעְתֶּם תְּרוּעָה וְנָסְעוּ הַמַּחֲנוֹת הַחֹנִים קֵדְמָה. ווּתְקַעְתֶּם תְּרוּעָה שֵׁנִית וְנָסְעוּ הַמַּחֲנוֹת הַחֹנִים תֵּימָנָה תְּרוּעָה יִתְקְעוּ לְמַסְעֵיהֶם. זוּבְהַקְהִיל אֶת הַקָּהָל תִּתְקְעוּ וְלֹא תָרִיעוּ. חוּבְנֵי אַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֲנִים יִתְקְעוּ בַּחֲצֹצְרוֹת וְהָיוּ לָכֶם לְחֻקַּת עוֹלָם לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם. טוְכִי תָבֹאוּ מִלְחָמָה בְּאַרְצְכֶם עַל הַצַּר הַצֹּרֵר אֶתְכֶם וַהֲרֵעֹתֶם בַּחֲצֹצְרֹת וְנִזְכַּרְתֶּם לִפְנֵי יהוה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם וְנוֹשַׁעְתֶּם מֵאֹיְבֵיכֶם. יוּבְיוֹם שִׂמְחַתְכֶם וּבְמוֹעֲדֵיכֶם וּבְרָאשֵׁי חָדְשֵׁיכֶם וּתְקַעְתֶּם בַּחֲצֹצְרֹת עַל עֹלֹתֵיכֶם וְעַל זִבְחֵי שַׁלְמֵיכֶם וְהָיוּ לָכֶם לְזִכָּרוֹן לִפְנֵי אֱלֹהֵיכֶם אֲנִי יהוה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם.יאוַיְהִי בַּשָּׁנָה הַשֵּׁנִית בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַשֵּׁנִי בְּעֶשְׂרִים בַּחֹדֶשׁ נַעֲלָה הֶעָנָן מֵעַל מִשְׁכַּן הָעֵדֻת. יבוַיִּסְעוּ בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְמַסְעֵיהֶם מִמִּדְבַּר סִינָי וַיִּשְׁכֹּן הֶעָנָן בְּמִדְבַּר פָּארָן.
יגוַיִּסְעוּ בָּרִאשֹׁנָה עַל פִּי יהוה בְּיַד מֹשֶׁה. ידוַיִּסַּע דֶּגֶל מַחֲנֵה בְנֵי יְהוּדָה בָּרִאשֹׁנָה לְצִבְאֹתָם וְעַל צְבָאוֹ נַחְשׁוֹן בֶּן עַמִּינָדָב. טווְעַל צְבָא מַטֵּה בְּנֵי יִשָּׂשכָר נְתַנְאֵל בֶּן צוּעָר. טזוְעַל צְבָא מַטֵּה בְּנֵי זְבוּלֻן אֱלִיאָב בֶּן חֵלֹן. יזוְהוּרַד הַמִּשְׁכָּן וְנָסְעוּ בְנֵי גֵרְשׁוֹן וּבְנֵי מְרָרִי נֹשְׂאֵי הַמִּשְׁכָּן. יחוְנָסַע דֶּגֶל מַחֲנֵה רְאוּבֵן לְצִבְאֹתָם וְעַל צְבָאוֹ אֱלִיצוּר בֶּן שְׁדֵיאוּר. יטוְעַל צְבָא מַטֵּה בְּנֵי שִׁמְעוֹן שְׁלֻמִיאֵל בֶּן צוּרִישַׁדָּי. כוְעַל צְבָא מַטֵּה בְנֵי גָד אֶלְיָסָף בֶּן דְּעוּאֵל. כאוְנָסְעוּ הַקְּהָתִים נֹשְׂאֵי הַמִּקְדָּשׁ וְהֵקִימוּ אֶת הַמִּשְׁכָּן עַד בֹּאָם. כבוְנָסַע דֶּגֶל מַחֲנֵה בְנֵי אֶפְרַיִם לְצִבְאֹתָם וְעַל צְבָאוֹ אֱלִישָׁמָע בֶּן עַמִּיהוּד. כגוְעַל צְבָא מַטֵּה בְּנֵי מְנַשֶּׁה גַּמְלִיאֵל בֶּן פְּדָהצוּר. כדוְעַל צְבָא מַטֵּה בְּנֵי בִנְיָמִן אֲבִידָן בֶּן גִּדְעוֹנִי. כהוְנָסַע דֶּגֶל מַחֲנֵה בְנֵי דָן מְאַסֵּף לְכָל הַמַּחֲנֹת לְצִבְאֹתָם וְעַל צְבָאוֹ אֲחִיעֶזֶר בֶּן עַמִּישַׁדָּי. כווְעַל צְבָא מַטֵּה בְּנֵי אָשֵׁר פַּגְעִיאֵל בֶּן עָכְרָן. כזוְעַל צְבָא מַטֵּה בְּנֵי נַפְתָּלִי אֲחִירַע בֶּן עֵינָן. כחאֵלֶּה מַסְעֵי בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְצִבְאֹתָם וַיִּסָּעוּ.
כטוַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה לְחֹבָב בֶּן רְעוּאֵל הַמִּדְיָנִי חֹתֵן מֹשֶׁה נֹסְעִים אֲנַחְנוּ אֶל הַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר אָמַר יהוה אֹתוֹ אֶתֵּן לָכֶם לְכָה אִתָּנוּ וְהֵטַבְנוּ לָךְ כִּי יהוה דִּבֶּר טוֹב עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל. לוַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו לֹא אֵלֵךְ כִּי אִם אֶל אַרְצִי וְאֶל מוֹלַדְתִּי אֵלֵךְ. לאוַיֹּאמֶר אַל נָא תַּעֲזֹב אֹתָנוּ כִּי עַל כֵּן יָדַעְתָּ חֲנֹתֵנוּ בַּמִּדְבָּר וְהָיִיתָ לָּנוּ לְעֵינָיִם. לבוְהָיָה כִּי תֵלֵךְ עִמָּנוּ וְהָיָה הַטּוֹב הַהוּא אֲשֶׁר יֵיטִיב יהוה עִמָּנוּ וְהֵטַבְנוּ לָךְ. לגוַיִּסְעוּ מֵהַר יהוה דֶּרֶךְ שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים וַאֲרוֹן בְּרִית יהוה נֹסֵעַ לִפְנֵיהֶם דֶּרֶךְ שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים לָתוּר לָהֶם מְנוּחָה. לדוַעֲנַן יהוה עֲלֵיהֶם יוֹמָם בְּנָסְעָם מִן הַמַּחֲנֶה.
לה*וַיְהִי בִּנְסֹעַ הָאָרֹן וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה קוּמָה יהוה וְיָפֻצוּ אֹיְבֶיךָ וְיָנֻסוּ מְשַׂנְאֶיךָ מִפָּנֶיךָ. לווּבְנֻחֹה יֹאמַר שׁוּבָה יהוה רִבְבוֹת אַלְפֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל.*
