1“The Kohanim, the Levi’im, even all the tribe of Levi, shall have no portion nor inheritance with Yisra’el; they shall eat the offerings of יהוה made by fire, and His inheritance. 2And they shall have no inheritance among their brethren; יהוה is their inheritance, as He has spoken unto them.”
3“And this shall be the Kohanim’s due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether it is ox or sheep, that they shall give unto the kohen the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw. 4The firstfruits of your grain, of your choice wine, and of your oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep shall you give him. 5For יהוה your Elohim has chosen him out of all your tribes, to stand to minister in the Name of יהוה , him and his sons forever.”
6“And if a Levi comes from any of your gates out of all Yisra’el, where he sojourns, and comes with all the desire of his soul unto the place which יהוה shall choose; 7then he shall minister in the Name of יהוה his Elohim, as all his brethren the Levi’im do, who stand there before יהוה . They8 shall have like portions to eat, beside that which is his due according to the fathers’ houses.”
9“When you are come into the land which יהוה your Elohim gives you, you shall not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. 10There shall not be found among you any one that makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one that uses divination, a soothsayer, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, 11or a charmer, or one that consults a ghost or a familiar spirit, or a necromancer. 12For whoever does these things is an abomination unto יהוה ; and because of these abominations יהוה your Elohim is driving them out from before you. 13You shall be whole-hearted with יהוה your Elohim. 14For these nations that you are to dispossess hearken unto soothsayers, and unto diviners; but as for you, יהוה your Elohim has not suffered you so to do. 15A Navi will יהוה your Elohim raise up unto you, from the midst of you, of your brethren, like unto me; you will hear him; 16according to all that you did desire of יהוה your Elohim in Khorev in the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of יהוה my Elohim, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.’ 17And יהוה said unto me, ‘They have spoken well, that which they have spoken. 18I will raise them up a Navi from among their brethren, like unto you; and I will put My D’var in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19And it shall come to pass, that whoever will not hear My D’varim which he shall speak in My Name, I will require it of him. 20But the navi that shall speak a word presumptuously in My Name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that same navi shall die.’ 21And if you say in your heart, “How shall we know the word which יהוה has not spoken?” 22When a navi speaks in the Name of יהוה , if the thing follows not, or does not come to pass, that is the thing which יהוה has not spoken; the navi has spoken it presumptuously, you shall not be afraid of him.”
אלֹא יִהְיֶה לַכֹּהֲנִים הַלְוִיִּם כָּל שֵׁבֶט לֵוִי חֵלֶק וְנַחֲלָה עִם יִשְׂרָאֵל אִשֵּׁי יהוה וְנַחֲלָתוֹ יֹאכֵלוּן. בוְנַחֲלָה לֹא יִהְיֶה לּוֹ בְּקֶרֶב אֶחָיו יהוה הוּא נַחֲלָתוֹ כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר לוֹ.
גוְזֶה יִהְיֶה מִשְׁפַּט הַכֹּהֲנִים מֵאֵת הָעָם מֵאֵת זֹבְחֵי הַזֶּבַח אִם שׁוֹר אִם שֶׂה וְנָתַן לַכֹּהֵן הַזְּרֹעַ וְהַלְּחָיַיִם וְהַקֵּבָה. דרֵאשִׁית דְּגָנְךָ תִּירֹשְׁךָ וְיִצְהָרֶךָ וְרֵאשִׁית גֵּז צֹאנְךָ תִּתֶּן לוֹ. הכִּי בוֹ בָּחַר יהוה אֱלֹהֶיךָ מִכָּל שְׁבָטֶיךָ לַעֲמֹד לְשָׁרֵת בְּשֵׁם יהוה הוּא וּבָנָיו כָּל הַיָּמִים.
ווְכִי יָבֹא הַלֵּוִי מֵאַחַד שְׁעָרֶיךָ מִכָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר הוּא גָּר שָׁם וּבָא בְּכָל אַוַּת נַפְשׁוֹ אֶל הַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר יִבְחַר יהוה . זוְשֵׁרֵת בְּשֵׁם יהוה אֱלֹהָיו כְּכָל אֶחָיו הַלְוִיִּם הָעֹמְדִים שָׁם לִפְנֵי יהוה . חחֵלֶק כְּחֵלֶק יֹאכֵלוּ לְבַד מִמְכָּרָיו עַל הָאָבוֹת.
טכִּי אַתָּה בָּא אֶל הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר יהוה אֱלֹהֶיךָ נֹתֵן לָךְ לֹא תִלְמַד לַעֲשׂוֹת כְּתוֹעֲבֹת הַגּוֹיִם הָהֵם. ילֹא יִמָּצֵא בְךָ מַעֲבִיר בְּנוֹ וּבִתּוֹ בָּאֵשׁ קֹסֵם קְסָמִים מְעוֹנֵן וּמְנַחֵשׁ וּמְכַשֵּׁף. יאוְחֹבֵר חָבֶר וְשֹׁאֵל אוֹב וְיִדְּעֹנִי וְדֹרֵשׁ אֶל הַמֵּתִים. יבכִּי תוֹעֲבַת יהוה כָּל עֹשֵׂה אֵלֶּה וּבִגְלַל הַתּוֹעֵבֹת הָאֵלֶּה יהוה אֱלֹהֶיךָ מוֹרִישׁ אוֹתָם מִפָּנֶיךָ. יגתָּמִים תִּהְיֶה עִם יהוה אֱלֹהֶיךָ. ידכִּי הַגּוֹיִם הָאֵלֶּה אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה יוֹרֵשׁ אוֹתָם אֶל מְעֹנְנִים וְאֶל קֹסְמִים יִשְׁמָעוּ וְאַתָּה לֹא כֵן נָתַן לְךָ יהוה אֱלֹהֶיךָ. טונָבִיא מִקִּרְבְּךָ מֵאַחֶיךָ כָּמֹנִי יָקִים לְךָ יהוה אֱלֹהֶיךָ אֵלָיו תִּשְׁמָעוּן. טזכְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר שָׁאַלְתָּ מֵעִם יהוה אֱלֹהֶיךָ בְּחֹרֵב בְּיוֹם הַקָּהָל לֵאמֹר לֹא אֹסֵף לִשְׁמֹעַ אֶת קוֹל יהוה אֱלֹהָי וְאֶת הָאֵשׁ הַגְּדֹלָה הַזֹּאת לֹא אֶרְאֶה עוֹד וְלֹא אָמוּת. יזוַיֹּאמֶר יהוה אֵלָי הֵיטִיבוּ אֲשֶׁר דִּבֵּרוּ. יחנָבִיא אָקִים לָהֶם מִקֶּרֶב אֲחֵיהֶם כָּמוֹךָ וְנָתַתִּי דְבָרַי בְּפִיו וְדִבֶּר אֲלֵיהֶם אֵת כָּל אֲשֶׁר אֲצַוֶּנּוּ. יטוְהָיָה הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר לֹא יִשְׁמַע אֶל דְּבָרַי אֲשֶׁר יְדַבֵּר בִּשְׁמִי אָנֹכִי אֶדְרֹשׁ מֵעִמּוֹ. כאַךְ הַנָּבִיא אֲשֶׁר יָזִיד לְדַבֵּר דָּבָר בִּשְׁמִי אֵת אֲשֶׁר לֹא צִוִּיתִיו לְדַבֵּר וַאֲשֶׁר יְדַבֵּר בְּשֵׁם אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים וּמֵת הַנָּבִיא הַהוּא. כאוְכִי תֹאמַר בִּלְבָבֶךָ אֵיכָה נֵדַע אֶת הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר לֹא דִבְּרוֹ יהוה . כבאֲשֶׁר יְדַבֵּר הַנָּבִיא בְּשֵׁם יהוה וְלֹא יִהְיֶה הַדָּבָר וְלֹא יָבֹא הוּא הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר לֹא דִבְּרוֹ יהוה בְּזָדוֹן דִּבְּרוֹ הַנָּבִיא לֹא תָגוּר מִמֶּנּוּ.
