1Now this is the Mitzvah, the Khukot, and the Mishpatim, which יהוה your Elohim commanded to teach you, that you might do them in the land where you go over to possess it, 2that you might fear יהוה your Elohim, to keep all His Khukot and His Mitzvot, which I command you, you, and your son, and your son’s son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged. 3Hear therefore, O Yisra’el, and observe to do it; that it may be well with you, and that you may increase mightily, as יהוה , the Elohim of your fathers, has promised unto you, a land flowing with milk and honey.
4Shema, Yisra’el: יהוה is our Elohim, יהוה is Ekhad. 5And you shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. 6And these words, which I command you this day, shall be upon your heart; 7and you shall impress them upon your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes. 9And you shall write them upon the door-posts of your house, and upon your gates.
10And it shall be, when יהוה your Elohim shall bring you into the land which He swore unto your fathers, to Avraham, to Yitz’khak, and to Ya’akov, to give you, great and goodly cities which you did not build, 11and houses full of all good things which you did not fill, and cisterns hewn out which you did not hew, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, and you shall eat and be satisfied, 12then beware lest you forget יהוה , who brought you forth out of the land of Mitzrayim, out of the house of bondage. 13You shall fear יהוה your Elohim; and Him shall you serve, and by His Name shall you make an oath. 14You shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples that are round about you; 15for El Kanah, even יהוה your Elohim, is in the midst of you; lest the anger of יהוה your Elohim be kindled against you, and He destroys you from off the face of the earth. 16You shall not test יהוה your Elohim, as you tested Him in Masah. 17You shall diligently keep the Mitzvot of יהוה your Elohim, and His testimonies, and His Khukot, which He has commanded you. 18And you shall do that which is right and good in the sight of יהוה , that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land which יהוה swore unto your fathers, 19to thrust out all your enemies from before you, as יהוה has spoken. 20When your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What do the testimonies, and the Khukot, and the Mishpatim, which יהוה our Elohim has commanded you, mean?’ 21Then you shall say unto your son, ‘We were Paroh’s servants in Mitzrayim; and יהוה brought us out of Mitzrayim with a mighty hand. 22And יהוה showed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Mitzrayim, upon Paroh, and upon all his house, before our eyes. 23And He brought us out from there, that He might bring us in, to give us the land which He swore unto our fathers. 24And יהוה commanded us to do all these Khukot, to fear יהוה our Elohim, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. 25And it shall be righteousness unto us, if we observe to do all this commandment before יהוה our Elohim, as He has commanded us’.”
אוְזֹאת הַמִּצְוָה הַחֻקִּים וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִים אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יהוה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם לְלַמֵּד אֶתְכֶם לַעֲשׂוֹת בָּאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם עֹבְרִים שָׁמָּה לְרִשְׁתָּהּ. בלְמַעַן תִּירָא אֶת יהוה אֱלֹהֶיךָ לִשְׁמֹר אֶת כָּל חֻקֹּתָיו וּמִצְוֹתָיו אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוֶּךָ אַתָּה וּבִנְךָ וּבֶן בִּנְךָ כֹּל יְמֵי חַיֶּיךָ וּלְמַעַן יַאֲרִכֻן יָמֶיךָ. גוְשָׁמַעְתָּ יִשְׂרָאֵל וְשָׁמַרְתָּ לַעֲשׂוֹת אֲשֶׁר יִיטַב לְךָ וַאֲשֶׁר תִּרְבּוּן מְאֹד כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יהוה אֱלֹהֵי אֲבֹתֶיךָ לָךְ אֶרֶץ זָבַת חָלָב וּדְבָשׁ.
דשְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל יהוה אֱלֹהֵינוּ יהוה אֶחָד. הוְאָהַבְתָּ אֵת יהוה אֱלֹהֶיךָ בְּכָל לְבָבְךָ וּבְכָל נַפְשְׁךָ וּבְכָל מְאֹדֶךָ. ווְהָיוּ הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוְּךָ הַיּוֹם עַל לְבָבֶךָ. זוְשִׁנַּנְתָּם לְבָנֶיךָ וְדִבַּרְתָּ בָּם בְּשִׁבְתְּךָ בְּבֵיתֶךָ וּבְלֶכְתְּךָ בַדֶּרֶךְ וּבְשָׁכְבְּךָ וּבְקוּמֶךָ. חוּקְשַׁרְתָּם לְאוֹת עַל יָדֶךָ וְהָיוּ לְטֹטָפֹת בֵּין עֵינֶיךָ. טוּכְתַבְתָּם עַל מְזֻזוֹת בֵּיתֶךָ וּבִשְׁעָרֶיךָ.
יוְהָיָה כִּי יְבִיאֲךָ יהוה אֱלֹהֶיךָ אֶל הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע לַאֲבֹתֶיךָ לְאַבְרָהָם לְיִצְחָק וּלְיַעֲקֹב לָתֶת לָךְ עָרִים גְּדֹלֹת וְטֹבֹת אֲשֶׁר לֹא בָנִיתָ. יאוּבָתִּים מְלֵאִים כָּל טוּב אֲשֶׁר לֹא מִלֵּאתָ וּבֹרֹת חֲצוּבִים אֲשֶׁר לֹא חָצַבְתָּ כְּרָמִים וְזֵיתִים אֲשֶׁר לֹא נָטָעְתָּ וְאָכַלְתָּ וְשָׂבָעְתָּ. יבהִשָּׁמֶר לְךָ פֶּן תִּשְׁכַּח אֶת יהוה אֲשֶׁר הוֹצִיאֲךָ מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם מִבֵּית עֲבָדִים. יגאֶת יהוה אֱלֹהֶיךָ תִּירָא וְאֹתוֹ תַעֲבֹד וּבִשְׁמוֹ תִּשָּׁבֵעַ. ידלֹא תֵלְכוּן אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים מֵאֱלֹהֵי הָעַמִּים אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶם. טוכִּי אֵל קַנָּא יהוה אֱלֹהֶיךָ בְּקִרְבֶּךָ פֶּן יֶחֱרֶה אַף יהוה אֱלֹהֶיךָ בָּךְ וְהִשְׁמִידְךָ מֵעַל פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה. טזלֹא תְנַסּוּ אֶת יהוה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם כַּאֲשֶׁר נִסִּיתֶם בַּמַּסָּה. יזשָׁמוֹר תִּשְׁמְרוּן אֶת מִצְוֹת יהוה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם וְעֵדֹתָיו וְחֻקָּיו אֲשֶׁר צִוָּךְ. יחוְעָשִׂיתָ הַיָּשָׁר וְהַטּוֹב בְּעֵינֵי יהוה לְמַעַן יִיטַב לָךְ וּבָאתָ וְיָרַשְׁתָּ אֶת הָאָרֶץ הַטֹּבָה אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע יהוה לַאֲבֹתֶיךָ. יטלַהֲדֹף אֶת כָּל אֹיְבֶיךָ מִפָּנֶיךָ כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יהוה . ככִּי יִשְׁאָלְךָ בִנְךָ מָחָר לֵאמֹר מָה הָעֵדֹת וְהַחֻקִּים וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִים אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יהוה אֱלֹהֵינוּ אֶתְכֶם. כאוְאָמַרְתָּ לְבִנְךָ עֲבָדִים הָיִינוּ לְפַרְעֹה בְּמִצְרָיִם וַיֹּצִיאֵנוּ יהוה מִמִּצְרַיִם בְּיָד חֲזָקָה. כבוַיִּתֵּן יהוה אוֹתֹת וּמֹפְתִים גְּדֹלִים וְרָעִים בְּמִצְרַיִם בְּפַרְעֹה וּבְכָל בֵּיתוֹ לְעֵינֵינוּ. כגוְאוֹתָנוּ הוֹצִיא מִשָּׁם לְמַעַן הָבִיא אֹתָנוּ לָתֶת לָנוּ אֶת הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע לַאֲבֹתֵינוּ. כדוַיְצַוֵּנוּ יהוה לַעֲשׂוֹת אֶת כָּל הַחֻקִּים הָאֵלֶּה לְיִרְאָה אֶת יהוה אֱלֹהֵינוּ לְטוֹב לָנוּ כָּל הַיָּמִים לְחַיֹּתֵנוּ כְּהַיּוֹם הַזֶּה. כהוּצְדָקָה תִּהְיֶה לָּנוּ כִּי נִשְׁמֹר לַעֲשׂוֹת אֶת כָּל הַמִּצְוָה הַזֹּאת לִפְנֵי יהוה אֱלֹהֵינוּ כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּנוּ.
