1And it came to pass in the days of Amrafel king of Shinar, Ari’okh king of Elasar, Kedorla’omer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Go’im, 2that they made war with Bera king of S’dom, and with Birsha king of Amorah, Shinav king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Tzivoi’im, and the king of Bela, the same is Tzo’ar. 3All these came as allies unto the vale of Sidim, the same is the Salt Sea. 4Twelve years they served Kedorla’omer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled. 5And in the fourteenth year came Kedorla’omer and the kings that were with him, and smote the Refayim in Ashterot Karnayim, and the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh Kiryatayim, 6and the Khori in their mount Se’ir, unto El Paran, which is by the wilderness. 7And they turned back, and came to Ein Mishpat, the same is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amaleki, and also the Amori, that dwelt in Hatzatzon Tamar. 8And there went out the king of S’dom, and the king of Amorah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Tzivoi’im, and the king of Bela, the same is Tzo’ar; and they set the battle in array against them in the vale of Sidim; 9against Kedorla’omer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Go’im, and Amrafel king of Shinar, and Ari’okh king of Elasar; four kings against the five. 10Now the vale of Sidim was full of slime pits; and the kings of S’dom and Amorah fled, and they fell there, and they that remained fled to the mountain. 11And they took all the goods of S’dom and Amorah, and all their victuals, and went their way. 12And they took Lot, Avram’s brother’s son, who dwelt in S’dom, and his goods, and departed. 13And there came one that had escaped, and told Avram the Ivri (now he dwelt by the terebinths of Mamre the Amori, brother of Eshkol, and brother of Aner; and these were confederate with Avram). 14And when Avram heard that his brother was taken captive, he led forth his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued as far as Dan. 15And he divided himself against them by night, he and his servants, and smote them, and pursued them unto Khovah, which is on the left hand of Damesek. 16And he brought back all the goods, and also brought back his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people. 17And the king of S’dom went out to meet him, after his return from the slaughter of Kedorla’omer and the kings that were with him, at the vale of Shaveh, the same is the King’s Vale. 18And Malki Tzedek Melekh Shalem brought forth bread and wine; and he was Kohen of El Elyon. 19And he blessed him, and said, “Blessed be Avram of El Elyon, possessor of heaven and earth; 20and blessed be El Elyon, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tenth of all. 21And the king of S’dom said unto Avram, “Give me the persons, and take the goods for yourself.” 22And Avram said to the king of S’dom, “I have lifted up my hand unto יהוה , El Elyon, possessor of heaven and earth, 23that I will not take a thread, nor a shoe-latchet, nor anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Avram rich’; 24save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshkol, and Mamre, let them take their portion.”
