1And יהוה said unto Moshe, “Hew out two lukhot of stone like unto the first; and I will write upon the lukhot the words that were on the first lukhot, which you did break. 2And be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning unto Har Sinai, and present yourself there to Me on the top of the mount. 3And no man shall come up with you, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.” 4And he hewed two lukhot of stone like unto the first; and Moshe rose up early in the morning, and went up unto Har Sinai, as יהוה had commanded him, and took in his hand two lukhot of stone.
5And יהוה descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the Name of יהוה . And6 יהוה passed by before him, and proclaimed,
” יהוה , יהוה , El, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in compassion and truth; 7guardian of compassion unto the thousandth generation; forgiving iniquity, and transgression, and sin, and pardoning; and that will by no means pardon the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and unto the fourth generation.”
8And Moshe made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped. 9And he said, “If now I have found grace in Your sight, O Adonai, let יהוה , I pray, go in the midst of us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for Your inheritance.” 10And He said, “Behold, I make a Brit; before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been wrought in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among which you are shall see the work of יהוה that I am about to do with you, that it is tremendous. 11Observe that which I am commanding you this day; behold, I am driving out before you the Emori, and the Kena’ani, and the Khiti, and the Perizi, and the Khivi, and the Yevusi. 12Take heed to yourself, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you go, lest they be for a snare in the midst of you. 13But you shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and you shall cut down their Asherim. 14For you shall bow down to no other gods; for יהוה , whose name is Jealous, is El Kanah; 15lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go astray after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and they call you, and you eat of their sacrifice; 16and you take of their daughters unto your sons, and their daughters go astray after their gods, and make your sons go astray after their gods. 17You shall make no molten gods.
18“Khag HaMatzot shall you keep. Seven days you shall eat matzot, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the Khodesh of the aviv, for in the Khodesh of the aviv you came out from Mitzrayim. 19All that opens the womb is Mine; and of all your cattle you shall consecrate the males, the firstlings of ox and sheep. 20And the firstling of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb; and if you will not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. All the firstborn of your sons you shall redeem. And none shall appear before Me empty. 21Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; in plowing time and in harvest you shall rest. 22And you shall observe Khag Shavu’ot, even of the Bikkurim of wheat harvest, and Khag HaAsif at the turn of the year. 23Three times in the year shall all your males appear before Adon יהוה Elohei Yisra’el. 24For I will cast out nations before you, and enlarge your borders; neither shall any man covet your land, when you go up to appear before יהוה your Elohim three times in the year. 25You shall not offer the blood of My sacrifice with khametz; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the Pesakh be left unto the morning. 26The choicest first-fruits of your land you shall bring unto Beit יהוה Eloheikha. You shall not seethe a kid in its mother’s milk.”
27And יהוה said unto Moshe, “Write these words, for after the tenor of these words I have made a Brit with you and with Yisra’el.” 28And he was there with יהוה forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the lukhot the words of the Brit, the Ten D’varim.
29And it came to pass, when Moshe came down from Har Sinai with the two Lukhot HaEdut in Moshe’s hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moshe knew not that the skin of his face sent forth beams while He talked with him. 30And when Aharon and all B’nei Yisra’el saw Moshe, behold, the skin of his face sent forth beams; and they were afraid to come near him. 31And Moshe called unto them; and Aharon and all the rulers of the assembly returned unto him; and Moshe spoke to them. 32And afterward all B’nei Yisra’el came near, and he gave them in commandment all that יהוה had spoken with him in Har Sinai. 33And when Moshe had done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face. 34But when Moshe went in before יהוה that He might speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out; and he came out and spoke unto B’nei Yisra’el that which he was commanded. 35And B’nei Yisra’el saw the face of Moshe, that the skin of Moshe’s face sent forth beams; and Moshe put the veil back upon his face, until he went in to speak with Him.
אוַיֹּאמֶר יהוה אֶל מֹשֶׁה פְּסָל לְךָ שְׁנֵי לֻחֹת אֲבָנִים כָּרִאשֹׁנִים וְכָתַבְתִּי עַל הַלֻּחֹת אֶת הַדְּבָרִים אֲשֶׁר הָיוּ עַל הַלֻּחֹת הָרִאשֹׁנִים אֲשֶׁר שִׁבַּרְתָּ. בוֶהְיֵה נָכוֹן לַבֹּקֶר וְעָלִיתָ בַבֹּקֶר אֶל הַר סִינַי וְנִצַּבְתָּ לִי שָׁם עַל רֹאשׁ הָהָר. גוְאִישׁ לֹא יַעֲלֶה עִמָּךְ וְגַם אִישׁ אַל יֵרָא בְּכָל הָהָר גַּם הַצֹּאן וְהַבָּקָר אַל יִרְעוּ אֶל מוּל הָהָר הַהוּא. דוַיִּפְסֹל שְׁנֵי לֻחֹת אֲבָנִים כָּרִאשֹׁנִים וַיַּשְׁכֵּם מֹשֶׁה בַבֹּקֶר וַיַּעַל אֶל הַר סִינַי כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יהוה אֹתוֹ וַיִּקַּח בְּיָדוֹ שְׁנֵי לֻחֹת אֲבָנִים.
הוַיֵּרֶד יהוה בֶּעָנָן וַיִּתְיַצֵּב עִמּוֹ שָׁם וַיִּקְרָא בְשֵׁם יהוה . ווַיַּעֲבֹר יהוה עַל פָּנָיו וַיִּקְרָא,
יהוה יהוה אֵל רַחוּם וְחַנּוּן אֶרֶךְ אַפַּיִם וְרַב חֶסֶד וֶאֱמֶת. זנֹצֵר חֶסֶד לָאֲלָפִים נֹשֵׂא עָוֹן וָפֶשַׁע וְחַטָּאָה וְנַקֵּה לֹא יְנַקֶּה פֹּקֵד עֲוֹן אָבוֹת עַל בָּנִים וְעַל בְּנֵי בָנִים עַל שִׁלֵּשִׁים וְעַל רִבֵּעִים.
חוַיְמַהֵר מֹשֶׁה וַיִּקֹּד אַרְצָה וַיִּשְׁתָּחוּ. טוַיֹּאמֶר אִם נָא מָצָאתִי חֵן בְּעֵינֶיךָ אֲדֹנָי יֵלֶךְ נָא אֲדֹנָי בְּקִרְבֵּנוּ כִּי עַם קְשֵׁה עֹרֶף הוּא וְסָלַחְתָּ לַעֲוֹנֵנוּ וּלְחַטָּאתֵנוּ וּנְחַלְתָּנוּ. יוַיֹּאמֶר הִנֵּה אָנֹכִי כֹּרֵת בְּרִית נֶגֶד כָּל עַמְּךָ אֶעֱשֶׂה נִפְלָאֹת אֲשֶׁר לֹא נִבְרְאוּ בְכָל הָאָרֶץ וּבְכָל הַגּוֹיִם וְרָאָה כָל הָעָם אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה בְקִרְבּוֹ אֶת מַעֲשֵׂה יהוה כִּי נוֹרָא הוּא אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי עֹשֶׂה עִמָּךְ. יאשְׁמָר לְךָ אֵת אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוְּךָ הַיּוֹם הִנְנִי גֹרֵשׁ מִפָּנֶיךָ אֶת הָאֱמֹרִי וְהַכְּנַעֲנִי וְהַחִתִּי וְהַפְּרִזִּי וְהַחִוִּי וְהַיְבוּסִי. יבהִשָּׁמֶר לְךָ פֶּן תִּכְרֹת בְּרִית לְיוֹשֵׁב הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה בָּא עָלֶיהָ פֶּן יִהְיֶה לְמוֹקֵשׁ בְּקִרְבֶּךָ. יגכִּי אֶת מִזְבְּחֹתָם תִּתֹּצוּן וְאֶת מַצֵּבֹתָם תְּשַׁבֵּרוּן וְאֶת אֲשֵׁרָיו תִּכְרֹתוּן. ידכִּי לֹא תִשְׁתַּחֲוֶה לְאֵל אַחֵר כִּי יהוה קַנָּא שְׁמוֹ אֵלקַנָּא הוּא. טופֶּן תִּכְרֹת בְּרִית לְיוֹשֵׁב הָאָרֶץ וְזָנוּ אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהֵיהֶם וְזָבְחוּ לֵאלֹהֵיהֶם וְקָרָא לְךָ וְאָכַלְתָּ מִזִּבְחוֹ. טזוְלָקַחְתָּ מִבְּנֹתָיו לְבָנֶיךָ וְזָנוּ בְנֹתָיו אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהֵיהֶן וְהִזְנוּ אֶת בָּנֶיךָ אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהֵיהֶן. יזאֱלֹהֵי מַסֵּכָה לֹא תַעֲשֶׂה לָּךְ יחאֶת חַג הַמַּצּוֹת תִּשְׁמֹר שִׁבְעַת יָמִים תֹּאכַל מַצּוֹת אֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתִךָ לְמוֹעֵד חֹדֶשׁ הָאָבִיב כִּי בְּחֹדֶשׁ הָאָבִיב יָצָאתָ מִמִּצְרָיִם. יטכָּל פֶּטֶר רֶחֶם לִי וְכָל מִקְנְךָ תִּזָּכָר פֶּטֶר שׁוֹר וָשֶׂה. כוּפֶטֶר חֲמוֹר תִּפְדֶּה בְשֶׂה וְאִם לֹא תִפְדֶּה וַעֲרַפְתּוֹ כֹּל בְּכוֹר בָּנֶיךָ תִּפְדֶּה וְלֹא יֵרָאוּ פָנַי רֵיקָם. כאשֵׁשֶׁת יָמִים תַּעֲבֹד וּבַיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי תִּשְׁבֹּת בֶּחָרִישׁ וּבַקָּצִיר תִּשְׁבֹּת. כבוְחַג שָׁבֻעֹת תַּעֲשֶׂה לְךָ בִּכּוּרֵי קְצִיר חִטִּים וְחַג הָאָסִיף תְּקוּפַת הַשָּׁנָה. כגשָׁלֹשׁ פְּעָמִים בַּשָּׁנָה יֵרָאֶה כָּל זְכוּרְךָ אֶת פְּנֵי הָאָדֹן יהוה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל. כדכִּי אוֹרִישׁ גּוֹיִם מִפָּנֶיךָ וְהִרְחַבְתִּי אֶת גְּבֻלֶךָ וְלֹא יַחְמֹד אִישׁ אֶת אַרְצְךָ בַּעֲלֹתְךָ לֵרָאוֹת אֶת פְּנֵי יהוה אֱלֹהֶיךָ שָׁלֹשׁ פְּעָמִים בַּשָּׁנָה. כהלֹא תִשְׁחַט עַל חָמֵץ דַּם זִבְחִי וְלֹא יָלִין לַבֹּקֶר זֶבַח חַג הַפָּסַח. כורֵאשִׁית בִּכּוּרֵי אַדְמָתְךָ תָּבִיא בֵּית יהוה אֱלֹהֶיךָ לֹא תְבַשֵּׁל גְּדִי בַּחֲלֵב אִמּוֹ.
כזוַיֹּאמֶר יהוה אֶל מֹשֶׁה כְּתָב לְךָ אֶת הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה כִּי עַל פִּי הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה כָּרַתִּי אִתְּךָ בְּרִית וְאֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל. כחוַיְהִי שָׁם עִם יהוה אַרְבָּעִים יוֹם וְאַרְבָּעִים לַיְלָה לֶחֶם לֹא אָכַל וּמַיִם לֹא שָׁתָה וַיִּכְתֹּב עַל הַלֻּחֹת אֵת דִּבְרֵי הַבְּרִית עֲשֶׂרֶת הַדְּבָרִים.
כטוַיְהִי בְּרֶדֶת מֹשֶׁה מֵהַר סִינַי וּשְׁנֵי לֻחֹת הָעֵדֻת בְּיַד מֹשֶׁה בְּרִדְתּוֹ מִן הָהָר וּמֹשֶׁה לֹא יָדַע כִּי קָרַן עוֹר פָּנָיו בְּדַבְּרוֹ אִתּוֹ. לוַיַּרְא אַהֲרֹן וְכָל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת מֹשֶׁה וְהִנֵּה קָרַן עוֹר פָּנָיו וַיִּירְאוּ מִגֶּשֶׁת אֵלָיו. לאוַיִּקְרָא אֲלֵהֶם מֹשֶׁה וַיָּשֻׁבוּ אֵלָיו אַהֲרֹן וְכָל הַנְּשִׂאִים בָּעֵדָה וַיְדַבֵּר מֹשֶׁה אֲלֵהֶם. לבוְאַחֲרֵי כֵן נִגְּשׁוּ כָּל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיְצַוֵּם אֵת כָּל אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יהוה אִתּוֹ בְּהַר סִינָי. לגוַיְכַל מֹשֶׁה מִדַּבֵּר אִתָּם וַיִּתֵּן עַל פָּנָיו מַסְוֶה. לדוּבְבֹא מֹשֶׁה לִפְנֵי יהוה לְדַבֵּר אִתּוֹ יָסִיר אֶת הַמַּסְוֶה עַד צֵאתוֹ וְיָצָא וְדִבֶּר אֶל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֵת אֲשֶׁר יְצֻוֶּה. להוְרָאוּ בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת פְּנֵי מֹשֶׁה כִּי קָרַן עוֹר פְּנֵי מֹשֶׁה וְהֵשִׁיב מֹשֶׁה אֶת הַמַּסְוֶה עַל פָּנָיו עַד בֹּאוֹ לְדַבֵּר אִתּוֹ.
