“Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and offer unto Ba’al, and walk after other gods whom you have not known, and come and stand before Me in this House, whereupon My Name is called, and say, ‘We are saved’, that you may do all these abominations?” Yir 7:9-10
These are small sentences, with BIG impact.
To ‘walk after’ someone in a religious context, in Biblical phrasing, means to ‘do as they do,’ or, to ‘follow their teachings’/’ways’.
Ba’al was indeed the name of a god of the land of Kena’an before and during the time of Yisra’el and the Nevi’im [prophets]. Yisra’el failed to get rid of Ba’al, one part of a ‘holy trinity’, this name representing the whole trinity. This caused Yisra’el to worship G-d, יהוה , the creator, in the SAME way they worshipped Ba’al; they even were taught to stop calling him יהוה , and to call Him “Ba’al”, which means, “Lord.” [Yir 23:26-27]
Yet, they would stand in the Beit HaKodesh, the “Temple”, and say, “We are SAVED.” [In the verse above, it is indeed rendered ‘delivered’, but the word gets translated into ‘saved’ in some translations in other verses; it is the same idea.]
They SAY that they are SAVED, so that they can DO all the perversions/abominations. The same is true of ‘saved’ people today. Readers today are not aware of all the things God considers an abomination. Usually, there is only one thing that comes to mind that is abominable to today’s ‘believer’.
They SAY, standing in a place of worship, that they are saved, so, it does not matter if they worship on the day of the Egyptian and Zoroastrian trinities [these are the SAME as the Ba’al trinity, under a different name, and is the origin of the Constantinian trinity]. It is an abomination even to hint at worshipping the Creator the way the pagans worship their gods, yet the ‘saved’ say it’s okay. They say they are saved, so they can worship the infant under and Ashteroth tree [part of another trinity, and part of EVERY ancient trinitarian form of worship.] These things are STILL abominable to the Creator. “I am יהוה , I do NOT change.”
The audacity of so-called ‘theologians’ to completely and utterly ignore the FACT that these forms of worship were mixed with a watered-down version of the faith of Messiah starting in 325AD in order to create Christianity, and simply EXCUSE it, is beyond me.
This is mixture religion, and it is the same thing Yisra’el was guilty of.
Does this mean all Christians are lost? Is that what this writer is implying? Not at all.
It is clear in scripture, that at the very end of the last days, there will be PEOPLE OF GOD who are trapped in “Bavel.” And God speaks to them, and tells them, “Come OUT of HER, MY PEOPLE.”
Most people know Bavel as “Babylon.” But, most people do not understand who/what Bavel is.
First, Bavel ‘means’ “Confusion.” This is the same word for ‘Babel’ in Genesis, where most people are familiar with the “Tower of Babel.” But, what most do not realize is that the builders of this tower were the creators of a religious cult, a trinity, and the goal of it, as in Gan Eden, was to be like God, to become one’s own God, or to be equal with God.
The people began the idea of a trinity there, under the guidance of HaSatan, obviously. And from there is the source of all the pagan faiths. Yisra’el was ‘called out’ of there, when Avraham was called out of Ur, an ancient city in the same region. And Yisra’el was supposed to be the reminder to all nations that there is ONE God. And that He is the savior, to those who TRUST in Him. Salvation has ALWAYS been through trust in יהוה , and now that Yeshua is יהוה manifested in a Body, all those who trusted then in יהוה are saved by their trust in the coming Messiah, the savior. But, those who TRUSTED were SET APART from those who did not trust. They behaved themselves, and did what יהוה said to do; and when they failed, they repented, and trusted in His Compassion. But not all Yisra’el trusted.
Bavel is the mixture of religions, combining what is ‘set apart’ with what is ‘profane’ and/or abominable, saying that one’s OWN way to god is legitimate, as long as you are thinking of god. A little bit of abomination contaminates. Bavel is called a Harlot in the Hitgalut [Revelation]. A harlot takes what is pure and sacred, [like the marriage bed] and ‘mixes’ it with anyone who is willing. She is an adulteress who cheats on God with all the other deities of the world. ALL of us, Jew and Gentile, are guilty of this harlotry. So does that make it unnecessary to return to HIS WORD? Just because we are surrounded by it, should we continue in it, so we don’t stick out?
I don’t think that’s how Khanan-Yah, Misha’el, and Azar-Yah thought, when they were enslaved in Bavel. The king of Bavel made himself into a god, and demanded that all the world worship him/it. The cry would go out, and everyone had to bow in worship. These three men did not. Even though the world/government gave them other names [Shadrakh, Meskakh, and Abed Nego], and enslaved them, taking them out of the land of Yisra’el and trying to rob them of their Jewish heritage, they STOOD, when everyone else submitted to the world’s form of Worship. And they did so KNOWING that they would DIE when they were seen so OBVIOUSLY different, standing there in Emunah [absolute trust] while everyone else submitted to the world’s form of worship.
Should we continue in harlotry, because that’s the way our faith was handed to us?
Did Israel IGNORE the Sabbath, when given the Manna to tell them when the Sabbath was? They had been captives in a pagan land. They were now ‘Saved’. Should they have just INGORED the Manna, and worshipped God on the day of the SUN, the GOD of Egypt [also the god of a trinity], where they had been enslaved? Remember, in a very short time after the Manna started falling, they made a calf, and called it יהוה , and worshipped it as their god! Was that right? After all, they called it by His Name….
Should we then IGNORE Yeshua, OUR MANNA, who KEPT THE SABBATH with JEWS in the synagogue, JUST because three hundred years later a gentile ruler CHANGED the day of worship of the community of faith in Messiah? Keep in mind, much like Bavel and Nebukhadnetzar, Constantine and his successors later made the Sabbath illegal, on pain of death, because MANY of them [Jews AND Gentiles who worshipped Yeshua] would NOT change their day of worship. Should we continue to submit to Constantine, JUST BECAUSE so many have done so ever since?
Should we NOT do the feasts of Elohim, simply because we have not done them for 1693 years, as a body of faith? Is that how Israel responded, when, as a people of faith, they realized THEY had not kept Sukkot since the time of Yehoshua [Joshua] ?
“And they found written in the Torah, how that יהוה had commanded by Moshe, that B’nei Yisra’el should dwell in sukkot [Booths] in the feast of the seventh khodesh; and that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Yerushalayim, saying, “Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and branches of wild olive, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make sukkot, as it is written.” So the people went forth, and brought them, and made themselves sukkot, every one upon the roof of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts of Beit HaElohim, and in the broad place of the water gate, and in the broad place of the gate of Efrayim. And all the congregation of them that were come back out of the captivity [in Bavel ] made sukkot, and dwelt in the sukkot; for since the days of Yeshua Bin Nun unto that day had not B’nei Yisra’el done so. And there was very great gladness. Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he [Ezrah] read in the book of the Torah of Elohim. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was Shemini Atzeret, according unto the ordinance.” [Nekhem-Yah 8:14-18]
Notice here that it says “Since the days of YESHUA!”
Neither has the Body of Messiah, by and large, kept Sukkot SINCE THE DAYS OF OUR YESHUA. Yeshua Bin Nun is the “Joshua” of the “Old Testament,” but here, in Nekhem-Yah, he is called YESHUA BIN NUN and NOT YEHOSHUA/JOSHUA. “Salvation, a seed/son of ‘posterity’ [future generations]” is what his WHOLE name means. Is it POSSIBLE, O believer in Messiah, that this is a foreshadowing of the followers of Yeshua, the SON who manifested for OUR generations, that WE are to turn back to HIS FEASTS, to include the Sabbath, [ the first of the feasts listed in Lev 23] and Sukkot ?
Indeed, THAT is how God ‘feels,’ and HE says that ALL of us will be keeping the Sabbath AND SUKKOT during the Reign of Messiah on earth! WHY, oh WHY would we not keep it now, but for sheer disobedience and stubbornness, denial and self will, and passive compliance with Bavel?
In Yesha-Yahu [Isaiah] 66, which is about the Millennial Kingdom, the 1,000 years when Messiah will rule ON EARTH as יהוה in a body, we are told:
“And it shall come to pass, that from one Khodesh [renewed moon] to another, and from one Shabbat to another, shall all flesh come to worship before Me’, says יהוה .”
So, for the 1,000 years that Messiah Yeshua will be King on Earth, we will ALL WORSHIP on EVERY SABBATH! This actually INCLUDES all the other SEVEN FEASTs, because in each of those feasts, SABBATHS are specified! Do you HONESTLY THINK that HE would change His Day to ‘sun-day,’ the day of pagan Sol Invictus [according to Constantine’s decree], only to change it BACK when He comes back to earth? Come on, believer, HE is NOT wishy-washy, He does NOT equivocate. “I am יהוה , I DO NOT CHANGE.” “Messiah Yeshua is the same, yesterday, TODAY, and FOREVER.” But, to be certain, let’s get another witness to that:
“And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations that came against Yerushalayim [the whole world] shall go up from year to year to worship HaMelekh, יהוה Tzeva’ot, and to keep Khag HaSukkot. And it shall be, that whoever of the families of the earth does not go up unto Yerushalayim to worship HaMelekh, יהוה Tzeva’ot, upon them there shall be no rain. And if the family of Mitzrayim does not go up, and comes not, they shall have no overflow; there shall be the plague, wherewith יהוה will smite the nations that do not go up to keep Khag HaSukkot. This shall be the punishment of Mitzrayim, and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to keep Khag HaSukkot.” [Zekhar-Yah 14:17-19]
This, too, is during the time of Messiah on earth.
BOTH of these Nevi’im [prophets], whose names mean “ יהוה WILL SAVE” and “Remember יהוה ” respectively, ended their prophetic ministry predicting that ALL THE WORLD will KEEP HIS FEASTS. NOT to do so is ABOMINABLE!
So, O ‘saved’ one, DO NOT say you should not do it just because you are saved~!!
Do you HAVE to keep His Shabbat to be saved? No. But, you SHOULD want to! BECAUSE HE saved you, NOT Constantine, NOT the popes, NOT the Baptists, NOT Luther or Calvin…. YESHUA THE MESSIAH, the JEWISH man, the Manna from Heaven, that MASTER OF THE SABBATH! [“And He said to them, “Ben HaAdam [The Son of Man] is Adon of Shabbat.” And it came to pass on another Shabbat He entered into the Beit K’nesset [Synagogue] Luk 6:5-6 ] If you do not obey HIM after you are saved, you WILL be disciplined, according to HIS OWN MOUTH. “He disciplines those whom He loves!” The children ‘born’ to Messiah who disobey His Torah WILL be disciplined for breaking HIS TORAH! [Ps 89]
“His seed also [Yeshua’s] will I make to endure forever, and his throne as the days of heaven. If his children forsake My Torah, and walk not in My ordinances; If they profane My statutes, and keep not My Mitzvot; Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with strokes. But My compassion will I not break off from him, nor will I be false to My faithfulness. My Brit [covenant] will I not profane, nor alter that which is gone out of My lips.”
Bavel means confusion. And SO MANY believers today are confused by the “Babble” of religious people. That confusion is OBLITERATED by STUDYING TORAH under the light of the teachings of Messiah, who teaches Torah BEST. Look how it affected the people who came out of literal “Bavel” in Ezra and Nehemiah’s day:
“And they read in the book, the Torah of Elohim, distinctly; and they gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading. and Nekhem-Yah ….said unto all the people, “This day is Kadosh unto יהוה your Elohim; mourn not, nor weep.” For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the Torah. Then he said unto them, “Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is Kadosh unto Adoneinu; neither be grieved; for the joy of יהוה is your strength.” So the Levi’im stilled all the people, saying, “Hold your peace, for the day is kadosh; neither be grieved.” And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words [of the Torah] that were declared unto them.” [Neh 8:9-12]
The confusion of religion is GONE when we study HIS WHOLE WORD the way Messiah taught it! That is one of the GREATEST things about studying and living Torah: there is NO MORE bavel: confusion.
Please awaken, O believers in Messiah, to the BLESSING that is ABUNDANT in doing HIS WORD!
Anyone who seriously reads the Word will appreciate this direct approach to Truth. The D’var does not change just because man wants it to in order to conform to himself, neither does the mirror bend just to change our image. It is up to every man to dress himself and comb his own hair so that the image reflected back from the mirror of the Word is the appearance desired.

Amen! Hallelujah!
There may not be a more obvious illustration to what you are saying, than in present day India. Tens of millions of Indian’s have become “innoculated” from the real Gospel that saves, and have merely added Jesus to their shelves along side their multiple gods. Many have been lulled into a false sense of eternal security, and become offended when told that their “sinner’s prayer” didn’t “take”. Christian ministers, in order to pad their “salvation” numbers, don’t call on the “converts” to denounce their false religions.
I realize that you are addressing the less obvious charade in Western Christianity, but a perversion is a perversion, and the harlot is still the harlot.
Thank you Daniel for your tireless efforts to educate us that there is a Spiritual counterpart to every vain argument against Old Testament sacrifices, washings and such. Praise Yah! He even enables us to become living sacrifices by giving us His Ruach Hakodesh!
Proclamations about Elohim’s greatness by Balaam and Nebuchadnezzar, while impressive and true, had only a skin deep effect, with no heart obvious change.
Let us save our best superlatives for Yeshua, who before the foundation of the earth, loved the unlovables, namely us.

I love the revelation about Nehemiah and the reading of the Torah and especially chapter 9, verse 29; that Elohim gave His good Spirit to teach them.
I suspect that some of the captives (who were removed from Israel by almost two generations) while in Babylon, must have held underground Torah cell groups, as some of the Israelites after only the first day of Nehemiah and Ezra’s Torah readings, had such an understanding that they were promoted the very next day to teach others! Praise Abba!

Discernment of His Will comes through a proper understanding of D’var יהוה. Our obedient response to It makes us less susceptible to demonic influence. We must come out of Bavel!
“O Abba, consecrate them in Your truth, because Your Davar is truth. (Yokhanan 17:17) With my whole heart have I sought You; O let me not err from Your Mitzvot. (Tehillim 119:10)” – D’var יהוה
