1And after this it came to pass, that David smote the P’lishtim, and subdued them, and took Gat and its towns out of the hand of the P’lishtim. 2And he smote Mo’av; and Mo’av became servants to David, and brought presents. 3And David smote Hadadezer king of Tzovah by Khamatah, as he went to establish his dominion at the river Perat. 4And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for a hundred chariots. 5And when Aram of Darmasek came to succor Hadadezer king of Tzovah, David smote of Aram twenty-two thousand men. 6Then David put [garrisons] in Aram Darmasek; and Aram became servants to David, and brought presents. And יהוה gave victory to David wherever he went. 7And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Yerushalayim. 8And from Tivkhat and from Kun, cities of Hadadezer, David took very much brass, wherewith Shlomo made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.
9And when To’u king of Khamat heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer king of Tzovah, 10he sent Hadoram his son to Melekh David, to salute him, and to bless him because he had fought against Hadadezer and smitten him; for Hadadezer had wars with To’u, and [he had with him] all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass. 11These also did Melekh David dedicate unto יהוה , with the silver and the gold that he carried away from all the nations; from Edom, and from Mo’av, and from the children of Amon, and from the P’lishtim, and from Amalek. 12Moreover Avishai Ben Tzeru-Yah smote of Edom in the Valley of Salt eighteen thousand. 13And he put garrisons in Edom; and all Edom became servants to David. And יהוה gave victory to David wherever he went. 14And David reigned over all Yisra’el; and he executed justice and righteousness unto all his people. 15And Yo’av Ben Tzeru-Yah was over the host; and Yehoshafat Ben Ahilud was recorder. 16And Tzadok Ben Akhituv, and Avimelekh Ben Evyatar, were Kohanim; and Shavsha was scribe; 17and Bena-Yah Ben Yehoyada was over the K’reti and the P’leti; and the sons of David were chief about HaMelekh.
