1And the courses of the sons of Aharon were these. The sons of Aharon: Nadav and Avihu, Elazar and Itamar. 2But Nadav and Avihu died before their father, and had no children; therefore Elazar and Itamar executed the Kohen’s office. 3And David with Tzadok of the sons of Elazar, and Akhimelekh of the sons of Itamar, divided them according to their ordering in their service. 4And there were more chief men found of the sons of Elazar than of the sons of Itamar; and thus were they divided: of the sons of Elazar there were sixteen, heads of fathers’ houses; and of the sons of Itamar, according to their fathers’ houses, eight. 5Thus were they divided by lot, one sort with another; for they were princes of the Kodesh and princes of Elohim, both of the sons of Elazar, and of the sons of Itamar. 6And Shema-Yah Ben Netanel the scribe, who was of the Levi’im, wrote them in the presence of HaMelekh, and the princes, and Tzadok the Kohen, and Akhimelekh Ben Evyatar, and the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Kohanim and of the Levi’im: one father’s house being taken for Elazar, and proportionately for Itamar.
7Now the first lot came forth to Yehoyariv, the second to Yeda-Yah; 8the third to Kharim, the fourth to Se’orim; 9the fifth to Malkhi-Yah, the sixth to Miyamin; 10the seventh to Hakotz, the eighth to Avi-Yah; 11the ninth to Yeshua, the tenth to Shekhan-Yah; 12the eleventh to Elyashiv, the twelfth to Yakim; 13the thirteenth to Khupah, the fourteenth to Yeshevav; 14the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Imer; 15the seventeenth to Khezir, the eighteenth to HaPitzetz; 16the nineteenth to Petakh-Yah, the twentieth to Yekhezkel; 17the twenty-first to Yakhin, the twenty-second to Gamul; 18the twenty-third to Dela-Yah, the twenty-fourth to Ma’az-Yahu.
19These were the orderings of them in their service, to come into Beit יהוה according to the ordinance given unto them by the hand of Aharon their father, as יהוה Elohei Yisra’el had commanded him.
20And of the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, Shuva’el; of the sons of Shuva’el, Yekhde-Yahu. 21Of Rekhav-Yah: of the sons of Rekhav-Yah, Yishi-Yah the chief. 22Of the Yitz’hari, Shelomot; of the sons of Shelomot, Yakhat. 23And Benai, Yeri-Yahu, Amar-Yah the second, Yakhazi’el the third, Yekam’am the fourth. 24The sons of Uzi’el, Mikhah; of the sons of Mikhah, Shamir. 25The brother of Mikhah, Yishi-Yah; of the sons of Yishi-Yah, Zekhar-Yahu. 26The sons of Merari: Makhli and Mushi; the sons of Ya’az-Yahu, his son, 27even the sons of Merari through Ya’az-Yahu his son: Shoham, and Zakur, and Ivri. 28Of Makhli: Elazar, who had no sons. 29Of Kish: the sons of Kish, Yerakhme’el. 30And the sons of Mushi: Makhli, and Eder, and Yerimot. These were the sons of the Levi’im after their fathers’ houses. 31These likewise cast lots even as their brethren the sons of Aharon in the presence of David HaMelekh, and Tzadok, and Akhimelekh, and the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Kohanim and of the Levi’im; the fathers’ houses of the chief even as those of his younger brother.
אוְלִבְנֵי אַהֲרֹן מַחְלְקוֹתָם: בְּנֵי אַהֲרֹן נָדָב וַאֲבִיהוּא אֶלְעָזָר וְאִיתָמָר. בוַיָּמָת נָדָב וַאֲבִיהוּא לִפְנֵי אֲבִיהֶם וּבָנִים לֹא הָיוּ לָהֶם; וַיְכַהֲנוּ אֶלְעָזָר וְאִיתָמָר. גוַיֶּחָלְקֵם דָּוִיד וְצָדוֹק מִן בְּנֵי אֶלְעָזָר וַאֲחִימֶלֶךְ מִן בְּנֵי אִיתָמָר: לִפְקֻדָּתָם בַּעֲבֹדָתָם. דוַיִּמָּצְאוּ בְנֵי אֶלְעָזָר רַבִּים לְרָאשֵׁי הַגְּבָרִים מִן בְּנֵי אִיתָמָר וַיַּחְלְקוּם: לִבְנֵי אֶלְעָזָר רָאשִׁים לְבֵית אָבוֹת שִׁשָּׁה עָשָׂר וְלִבְנֵי אִיתָמָר לְבֵית אֲבוֹתָם שְׁמוֹנָה. הוַיַּחְלְקוּם בְּגוֹרָלוֹת אֵלֶּה עִם אֵלֶּה: כִּי הָיוּ שָׂרֵי קֹדֶשׁ וְשָׂרֵי הָאֱלֹהִים מִבְּנֵי אֶלְעָזָר וּבִבְנֵי אִיתָמָר. ווַיִּכְתְּבֵם שְׁמַעְיָה בֶן נְתַנְאֵל הַסּוֹפֵר מִן הַלֵּוִי לִפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהַשָּׂרִים וְצָדוֹק הַכֹּהֵן וַאֲחִימֶלֶךְ בֶּן אֶבְיָתָר וְרָאשֵׁי הָאָבוֹת לַכֹּהֲנִים וְלַלְוִיִּם בֵּית אָב אֶחָד אָחֻז לְאֶלְעָזָר וְאָחֻז אָחֻז לְאִיתָמָר.
זוַיֵּצֵא הַגּוֹרָל הָרִאשׁוֹן לִיהוֹיָרִיב לִידַעְיָה הַשֵּׁנִי. חלְחָרִם הַשְּׁלִישִׁי לִשְׂעֹרִים הָרְבִעִי. טלְמַלְכִּיָּה הַחֲמִישִׁי לְמִיָּמִן הַשִּׁשִּׁי. ילְהַקּוֹץ הַשְּׁבִעִי לַאֲבִיָּה הַשְּׁמִינִי. יאלְיֵשׁוּעַ הַתְּשִׁעִי לִשְׁכַנְיָהוּ הָעֲשִׂרִי. יבלְאֶלְיָשִׁיב עַשְׁתֵּי עָשָׂר לְיָקִים שְׁנֵים עָשָׂר. יגלְחֻפָּה שְׁלֹשָׁה עָשָׂר לְיֶשֶׁבְאָב אַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר. ידלְבִלְגָּה חֲמִשָּׁה עָשָׂר לְאִמֵּר שִׁשָּׁה עָשָׂר. טולְחֵזִיר שִׁבְעָה עָשָׂר לְהַפִּצֵּץ שְׁמוֹנָה עָשָׂר. טזלִפְתַחְיָה תִּשְׁעָה עָשָׂר לִיחֶזְקֵאל הָעֶשְׂרִים. יזלְיָכִין אֶחָד וְעֶשְׂרִים לְגָמוּל שְׁנַיִם וְעֶשְׂרִים. יחלִדְלָיָהוּ שְׁלֹשָׁה וְעֶשְׂרִים לְמַעַזְיָהוּ אַרְבָּעָה וְעֶשְׂרִים.
יטאֵלֶּה פְקֻדָּתָם לַעֲבֹדָתָם לָבוֹא לְבֵית יהוה כְּמִשְׁפָּטָם בְּיַד אַהֲרֹן אֲבִיהֶם: כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּהוּ יהוה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל.
כוְלִבְנֵי לֵוִי הַנּוֹתָרִים: לִבְנֵי עַמְרָם שׁוּבָאֵל לִבְנֵי שׁוּבָאֵל יֶחְדְּיָהוּ. כאלִרְחַבְיָהוּ לִבְנֵי רְחַבְיָהוּ הָרֹאשׁ יִשִּׁיָּה. כבלַיִּצְהָרִי שְׁלֹמוֹת לִבְנֵי שְׁלֹמוֹת יָחַת. כגוּבְנָי יְרִיָּהוּ; אֲמַרְיָהוּ הַשֵּׁנִי יַחֲזִיאֵל הַשְּׁלִישִׁי יְקַמְעָם הָרְבִיעִי. כדבְּנֵי עֻזִּיאֵל מִיכָה לִבְנֵי מִיכָה שמור (שָׁמִיר). כהאֲחִי מִיכָה יִשִּׁיָּה לִבְנֵי יִשִּׁיָּה זְכַרְיָהוּ. כובְּנֵי מְרָרִי מַחְלִי וּמוּשִׁי בְּנֵי יַעֲזִיָּהוּ בְנוֹ. כזבְּנֵי מְרָרִי לְיַעֲזִיָּהוּ בְנוֹ וְשֹׁהַם וְזַכּוּר וְעִבְרִי. כחלְמַחְלִי אֶלְעָזָר וְלֹא הָיָה לוֹ בָּנִים. כטלְקִישׁ בְּנֵי קִישׁ יְרַחְמְאֵל. לוּבְנֵי מוּשִׁי מַחְלִי וְעֵדֶר וִירִימוֹת; אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי הַלְוִיִּם לְבֵית אֲבֹתֵיהֶם. לאוַיַּפִּילוּ גַם הֵם גּוֹרָלוֹת לְעֻמַּת אֲחֵיהֶם בְּנֵי אַהֲרֹן לִפְנֵי דָוִיד הַמֶּלֶךְ וְצָדוֹק וַאֲחִימֶלֶךְ וְרָאשֵׁי הָאָבוֹת לַכֹּהֲנִים וְלַלְוִיִּם אָבוֹת הָרֹאשׁ לְעֻמַּת אָחִיו הַקָּטָן.
