1And David assembled all the princes of Yisra’el, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that served the king by course, and the captains of thousands, and the captains of hundreds, and the rulers over all the substance and cattle of HaMelekh and of his sons, with the officers, and the mighty men, even all the mighty men of valor, unto Yerushalayim. 2Then David HaMelekh stood up upon his feet, and said, “Hear me, my brethren, and my people; as for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the Aron HaBrit יהוה , and for the footstool of our Elohim; and I had made ready for the building. 3But Elohim said unto me, ‘You shall not build a house for My Name, because you are a man of war, and have shed blood’. 4However, יהוה Elohei Yisra’el chose me out of all the house of my father to be Melekh over Yisra’el forever; for He has chosen Yehudah to be prince, and in Beit Yehudah, the house of my father, and among the sons of my father He took pleasure in me to make me king over all Yisra’el; 5and of all my sons, for יהוה has given me many sons, He has chosen Shlomo my son to sit upon the throne of the Malkhut יהוה , over Yisra’el. 6And He said unto me, ‘Shlomo your son, he shall build My house and My courts; for I have chosen him to be to Me for a son, and I will be to him for a father. 7And I will establish his kingdom forever, if he is constant to do My Mitzvot and My ordinances, as at this day.’ 8Now therefore, in the sight of all Yisra’el, the congregation of יהוה , and in the hearing of our Elohim, observe and seek out all the Mitzvot of יהוה your Elohim; that you may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children after you forever. 9And you, Shlomo my son, know the Elohim of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and with a willing mind; for יהוה searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts; if you seek Him, He will be found of you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever. 10Take heed now; for יהוה has chosen you to build a house for the Mikdash; be strong, and do it.”
11Then David gave to Shlomo his son the pattern of the porch [of the Mikdash], and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper rooms thereof, and of the inner chambers thereof, and of the place of HaKaporet; 12and the pattern of all that he had by the Ru’akh, for the courts of Beit יהוה , and for all the chambers round about, for the treasuries of Beit HaElohim, and for the treasuries of the consecrated things; 13also for the courses of the Kohanim and the Levi’im, and for all the work of the service of Beit יהוה , and for all the vessels of service in Beit יהוה : of 14gold by weight for the vessels of gold, for all vessels of every kind of service; of silver for all the vessels of silver by weight, for all vessels of every kind of service; 15by weight also for the Menorot of gold, and for the lamps thereof, of gold, by weight for every Menorah and for the lamps thereof; and for the Menorot of silver, silver by weight for every Menorah and for the lamps thereof, according to the use of every Menorah; 16and the gold by weight for the tables of Ma’arekhet, for every Shulkhan; and silver for the tables of silver; 17and the flesh-hooks, and the basins, and the jars, of pure gold; and for the golden bowls by weight for every bowl; and for the silver bowls by weight for every bowl; 18and for the Mizbe’akh Ketoret refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot, even the Keruvim, that spread out their wings, and covered the Aron HaBrit יהוה . “All19 this [do I give you] in writing, as יהוה has made me wise by His hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern.”
20And David said to Shlomo his son, “Be strong and of good courage, and do it; fear not, nor be dismayed; for יהוה Elohim, even my Elohim, is with you; He will not fail you, nor forsake you, until all the work for the service of Beit יהוה is finished. 21And, behold, there are the courses of the Kohanim and the Levi’im, for all the service of Beit HaElohim; and there shall be with you in all manner of work every willing man that has skill, for any manner of service; also the captains and all the people will be wholly at your word.”
אוַיַּקְהֵל דָּוִיד אֶת כָּל שָׂרֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל שָׂרֵי הַשְּׁבָטִים וְשָׂרֵי הַמַּחְלְקוֹת הַמְשָׁרְתִים אֶת הַמֶּלֶךְ וְשָׂרֵי הָאֲלָפִים וְשָׂרֵי הַמֵּאוֹת וְשָׂרֵי כָל רְכוּשׁ וּמִקְנֶה לַמֶּלֶךְ וּלְבָנָיו עִם הַסָּרִיסִים וְהַגִּבּוֹרִים וּלְכָל גִּבּוֹר חָיִל אֶל יְרוּשָׁלִָם. בוַיָּקָם דָּוִיד הַמֶּלֶךְ עַל רַגְלָיו וַיֹּאמֶר שְׁמָעוּנִי אַחַי וְעַמִּי: אֲנִי עִם לְבָבִי לִבְנוֹת בֵּית מְנוּחָה לַאֲרוֹן בְּרִית יהוה וְלַהֲדֹם רַגְלֵי אֱלֹהֵינוּ וַהֲכִינוֹתִי לִבְנוֹת. גוְהָאֱלֹהִים אָמַר לִי לֹא תִבְנֶה בַיִת לִשְׁמִי: כִּי אִישׁ מִלְחָמוֹת אַתָּה וְדָמִים שָׁפָכְתָּ. דוַיִּבְחַר יהוה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בִּי מִכֹּל בֵּית אָבִי לִהְיוֹת לְמֶלֶךְ עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל לְעוֹלָם כִּי בִיהוּדָה בָּחַר לְנָגִיד וּבְבֵית יְהוּדָה בֵּית אָבִי; וּבִבְנֵי אָבִי בִּי רָצָה לְהַמְלִיךְ עַל כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל. הוּמִכָּל בָּנַי כִּי רַבִּים בָּנִים נָתַן לִי יהוה ; וַיִּבְחַר בִּשְׁלֹמֹה בְנִי לָשֶׁבֶת עַל כִּסֵּא מַלְכוּת יהוה עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל. ווַיֹּאמֶר לִי שְׁלֹמֹה בִנְךָ הוּא יִבְנֶה בֵיתִי וַחֲצֵרוֹתָי: כִּי בָחַרְתִּי בוֹ לִי לְבֵן וַאֲנִי אֶהְיֶה לּוֹ לְאָב. זוַהֲכִינוֹתִי אֶת מַלְכוּתוֹ עַד לְעוֹלָם: אִם יֶחֱזַק לַעֲשׂוֹת מִצְוֹתַי וּמִשְׁפָּטַי כַּיּוֹם הַזֶּה. חוְעַתָּה לְעֵינֵי כָל יִשְׂרָאֵל קְהַל יהוה וּבְאָזְנֵי אֱלֹהֵינוּ שִׁמְרוּ וְדִרְשׁוּ כָּל מִצְוֹת יהוה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם לְמַעַן תִּירְשׁוּ אֶת הָאָרֶץ הַטּוֹבָה וְהִנְחַלְתֶּם לִבְנֵיכֶם אַחֲרֵיכֶם עַד עוֹלָם. טוְאַתָּה שְׁלֹמֹה בְנִי דַּע אֶת אֱלֹהֵי אָבִיךָ וְעָבְדֵהוּ בְּלֵב שָׁלֵם וּבְנֶפֶשׁ חֲפֵצָה כִּי כָל לְבָבוֹת דּוֹרֵשׁ יהוה וְכָל יֵצֶר מַחֲשָׁבוֹת מֵבִין: אִם תִּדְרְשֶׁנּוּ יִמָּצֵא לָךְ וְאִם תַּעַזְבֶנּוּ יַזְנִיחֲךָ לָעַד. ירְאֵה עַתָּה כִּי יהוה בָּחַר בְּךָ לִבְנוֹת בַּיִת לַמִּקְדָּשׁ חֲזַק וַעֲשֵׂה.
יאוַיִּתֵּן דָּוִיד לִשְׁלֹמֹה בְנוֹ אֶת תַּבְנִית הָאוּלָם וְאֶת בָּתָּיו וְגַנְזַכָּיו וַעֲלִיֹּתָיו וַחֲדָרָיו הַפְּנִימִים וּבֵית הַכַּפֹּרֶת. יבוְתַבְנִית כֹּל אֲשֶׁר הָיָה בָרוּחַ עִמּוֹ לְחַצְרוֹת בֵּית יהוה וּלְכָל הַלְּשָׁכוֹת סָבִיב לְאֹצְרוֹת בֵּית הָאֱלֹהִים וּלְאֹצְרוֹת הַקֳּדָשִׁים. יגוּלְמַחְלְקוֹת הַכֹּהֲנִים וְהַלְוִיִּם וּלְכָל מְלֶאכֶת עֲבוֹדַת בֵּית יהוה ; וּלְכָל כְּלֵי עֲבוֹדַת בֵּית יהוה . ידלַזָּהָב בַּמִּשְׁקָל לַזָּהָב לְכָל כְּלֵי עֲבוֹדָה וַעֲבוֹדָה; לְכֹל כְּלֵי הַכֶּסֶף בְּמִשְׁקָל לְכָל כְּלֵי עֲבוֹדָה וַעֲבוֹדָה. טווּמִשְׁקָל לִמְנֹרוֹת הַזָּהָב וְנֵרֹתֵיהֶם זָהָב בְּמִשְׁקַל מְנוֹרָה וּמְנוֹרָה וְנֵרֹתֶיהָ; וְלִמְנֹרוֹת הַכֶּסֶף בְּמִשְׁקָל לִמְנוֹרָה וְנֵרֹתֶיהָ כַּעֲבוֹדַת מְנוֹרָה וּמְנוֹרָה. טזוְאֶת הַזָּהָב מִשְׁקָל לְשֻׁלְחֲנוֹת הַמַּעֲרֶכֶת לְשֻׁלְחַן וְשֻׁלְחָן; וְכֶסֶף לְשֻׁלְחֲנוֹת הַכָּסֶף. יזוְהַמִּזְלָגוֹת וְהַמִּזְרָקוֹת וְהַקְּשָׂוֹת זָהָב טָהוֹר; וְלִכְפוֹרֵי הַזָּהָב בְּמִשְׁקָל לִכְפוֹר וּכְפוֹר וְלִכְפוֹרֵי הַכֶּסֶף בְּמִשְׁקָל לִכְפוֹר וּכְפוֹר. יחוּלְמִזְבַּח הַקְּטֹרֶת זָהָב מְזֻקָּק בַּמִּשְׁקָל; וּלְתַבְנִית הַמֶּרְכָּבָה הַכְּרוּבִים זָהָב לְפֹרְשִׂים וְסֹכְכִים עַל אֲרוֹן בְּרִית יהוה . יטהַכֹּל בִּכְתָב מִיַּד יהוה עָלַי הִשְׂכִּיל כֹּל מַלְאֲכוֹת הַתַּבְנִית.
כוַיֹּאמֶר דָּוִיד לִשְׁלֹמֹה בְנוֹ חֲזַק וֶאֱמַץ וַעֲשֵׂה אַל תִּירָא וְאַל תֵּחָת: כִּי יהוה אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהַי עִמָּךְ לֹא יַרְפְּךָ וְלֹא יַעַזְבֶךָּ עַד לִכְלוֹת כָּל מְלֶאכֶת עֲבוֹדַת בֵּית יהוה . כאוְהִנֵּה מַחְלְקוֹת הַכֹּהֲנִים וְהַלְוִיִּם לְכָל עֲבוֹדַת בֵּית הָאֱלֹהִים; וְעִמְּךָ בְכָל מְלָאכָה לְכָל נָדִיב בַּחָכְמָה לְכָל עֲבוֹדָה וְהַשָּׂרִים וְכָל הָעָם לְכָל דְּבָרֶיךָ.
