1And David HaMelekh said unto all the congregation, “Shlomo my son, whom alone Elohim has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for יהוה Elohim. 2Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my Elohim the gold for the things of gold, and the silver for the things of silver, and the brass for the things of brass, the iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, glistering stones, and of various colors, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance. 3Moreover also, because I have set my affection on the house of my Elohim, seeing that I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, I give it unto the house of my Elohim, over and above all that I have prepared for the consecrated house, 4even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ofir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, wherewith to overlay the walls of the houses; 5of gold for the things of gold, and of silver for the things of silver, and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of artificers. Who then offers willingly to consecrate himself this day unto יהוה ?” Then6 the princes of the fathers’ houses, and the princes of the tribes of Yisra’el, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers over the work of HaMelekh, offered willingly; 7and they gave for the service of Beit HaElohim of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand darics, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and of iron a hundred thousand talents. 8And they with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of Beit יהוה , under the hand of Yekhi’el the Gershuni. 9Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with a whole heart they offered willingly to יהוה ; and David HaMelekh also rejoiced with great joy.
10Therefore David blessed יהוה before all the congregation; and David said, “Blessed are You, O יהוה Elohei Yisra’el our father, forever and ever. 11Yours, O יהוה , is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O יהוה , and You are exalted as head above all. 12Both riches and honor come of You, and You rule over all; and in Your hand is power and might; and in Your hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. 13Now therefore, our Elohim, we thank You, and praise Your glorious Name. 14But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? For all things come from You, and of Your own have we given You. 15For we are strangers before You, and sojourners, as all our fathers were: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no abiding. 16O יהוה our Elohim, all this store that we have prepared to build You a house for Your Kadosh Name comes from Your hand, and is all Your own. 17I know also, my Elohim, that You try the heart, and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things; and now have I seen with joy Your people, that are present here, offer willingly unto You. 18O יהוה Elohei Avraham Yitz’khak and Yisra’el, our fathers, keep this forever, even the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of Your people, and direct their heart unto You; 19and give unto Shlomo my son a whole heart, to keep Your Mitzvot, Your testimonies, and Your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision.”
20And David said to all the congregation, “Now bless יהוה your Elohim.” And all the congregation blessed יהוה , the Elohim of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and prostrated themselves before יהוה , and before HaMelekh. 21And they sacrificed sacrifices unto יהוה , and offered Olot unto יהוה , on the morrow after that day, even a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their Nesakhim, and sacrifices in abundance for all Yisra’el; 22and did eat and drink before יהוה on that day with great gladness. And they made Shlomo Ben David Melekh the second time, and anointed him unto יהוה to be prince, and Tzadok to be Kohen. 23Then Shlomo sat on the throne of יהוה as Melekh instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Yisra’el hearkened to him. 24And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of Melekh David, submitted themselves unto Shlomo HaMelekh. 25And יהוה magnified Shlomo exceedingly in the sight of all Yisra’el, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any Melekh before him in Yisra’el.
26Now David Ben Yishai reigned over all Yisra’el. 27And the time that he reigned over Yisra’el was forty years: seven years he reigned in Khevron, and thirty-three years he reigned in Yerushalayim. 28And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor; and Shlomo his son reigned in his stead. 29Now the acts of David HaMelekh, first and last, behold, they are written in the words of Shmu’el HaRo’eh, and in the words of Natan HaNavi, and in the words of Gad HaKhozeh; 30with all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Yisra’el, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.
אוַיֹּאמֶר דָּוִיד הַמֶּלֶךְ לְכָל הַקָּהָל שְׁלֹמֹה בְנִי אֶחָד בָּחַר בּוֹ אֱלֹהִים נַעַר וָרָךְ; וְהַמְּלָאכָה גְדוֹלָה כִּי לֹא לְאָדָם הַבִּירָה כִּי לַיהוה אֱלֹהִים. בוּכְכָל כֹּחִי הֲכִינוֹתִי לְבֵית אֱלֹהַי הַזָּהָב לַזָּהָב וְהַכֶּסֶף לַכֶּסֶף וְהַנְּחֹשֶׁת לַנְּחֹשֶׁת הַבַּרְזֶל לַבַּרְזֶל וְהָעֵצִים לָעֵצִים; אַבְנֵי שֹׁהַם וּמִלּוּאִים אַבְנֵי פוּךְ וְרִקְמָה וְכֹל אֶבֶן יְקָרָה וְאַבְנֵי שַׁיִשׁ לָרֹב. גוְעוֹד בִּרְצוֹתִי בְּבֵית אֱלֹהַי יֶשׁ לִי סְגֻלָּה זָהָב וָכָסֶף: נָתַתִּי לְבֵית אֱלֹהַי לְמַעְלָה מִכָּל הֲכִינוֹתִי לְבֵית הַקֹּדֶשׁ. דשְׁלֹשֶׁת אֲלָפִים כִּכְּרֵי זָהָב מִזְּהַב אוֹפִיר; וְשִׁבְעַת אֲלָפִים כִּכַּר כֶּסֶף מְזֻקָּק לָטוּחַ קִירוֹת הַבָּתִּים. הלַזָּהָב לַזָּהָב וְלַכֶּסֶף לַכֶּסֶף וּלְכָל מְלָאכָה בְּיַד חָרָשִׁים; וּמִי מִתְנַדֵּב לְמַלֹּאות יָדוֹ הַיּוֹם לַיהוה . ווַיִּתְנַדְּבוּ שָׂרֵי הָאָבוֹת וְשָׂרֵי שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְשָׂרֵי הָאֲלָפִים וְהַמֵּאוֹת וּלְשָׂרֵי מְלֶאכֶת הַמֶּלֶךְ. זוַיִּתְּנוּ לַעֲבוֹדַת בֵּית הָאֱלֹהִים זָהָב כִּכָּרִים חֲמֵשֶׁת אֲלָפִים וַאֲדַרְכֹנִים רִבּוֹ וְכֶסֶף כִּכָּרִים עֲשֶׂרֶת אֲלָפִים וּנְחֹשֶׁת רִבּוֹ וּשְׁמוֹנַת אֲלָפִים כִּכָּרִים; וּבַרְזֶל מֵאָה אֶלֶף כִּכָּרִים. חוְהַנִּמְצָא אִתּוֹ אֲבָנִים נָתְנוּ לְאוֹצַר בֵּית יהוה עַל יַד יְחִיאֵל הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּי. טוַיִּשְׂמְחוּ הָעָם עַל הִתְנַדְּבָם כִּי בְּלֵב שָׁלֵם הִתְנַדְּבוּ לַיהוה ; וְגַם דָּוִיד הַמֶּלֶךְ שָׂמַח שִׂמְחָה גְדוֹלָה.
יוַיְבָרֶךְ דָּוִיד אֶת יהוה לְעֵינֵי כָּל הַקָּהָל; וַיֹּאמֶר דָּוִיד בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יהוה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אָבִינוּ מֵעוֹלָם וְעַד עוֹלָם. יאלְךָ יהוה הַגְּדֻלָּה וְהַגְּבוּרָה וְהַתִּפְאֶרֶת וְהַנֵּצַח וְהַהוֹד כִּי כֹל בַּשָּׁמַיִם וּבָאָרֶץ: לְךָ יהוה הַמַּמְלָכָה וְהַמִּתְנַשֵּׂא לְכֹל לְרֹאשׁ. יבוְהָעֹשֶׁר וְהַכָּבוֹד מִלְּפָנֶיךָ וְאַתָּה מוֹשֵׁל בַּכֹּל וּבְיָדְךָ כֹּחַ וּגְבוּרָה; וּבְיָדְךָ לְגַדֵּל וּלְחַזֵּק לַכֹּל. יגוְעַתָּה אֱלֹהֵינוּ מוֹדִים אֲנַחְנוּ לָךְ; וּמְהַלְלִים לְשֵׁם תִּפְאַרְתֶּךָ. ידוְכִי מִי אֲנִי וּמִי עַמִּי כִּי נַעְצֹר כֹּחַ לְהִתְנַדֵּב כָּזֹאת: כִּי מִמְּךָ הַכֹּל וּמִיָּדְךָ נָתַנּוּ לָךְ. טוכִּי גֵרִים אֲנַחְנוּ לְפָנֶיךָ וְתוֹשָׁבִים כְּכָל אֲבֹתֵינוּ: כַּצֵּל יָמֵינוּ עַל הָאָרֶץ וְאֵין מִקְוֶה. טז יהוה אֱלֹהֵינוּ כֹּל הֶהָמוֹן הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר הֲכִינֹנוּ לִבְנוֹת לְךָ בַיִת לְשֵׁם קָדְשֶׁךָ: מִיָּדְךָ היא (הוּא) וּלְךָ הַכֹּל. יזוְיָדַעְתִּי אֱלֹהַי כִּי אַתָּה בֹּחֵן לֵבָב וּמֵישָׁרִים תִּרְצֶה; אֲנִי בְּיֹשֶׁר לְבָבִי הִתְנַדַּבְתִּי כָל אֵלֶּה וְעַתָּה עַמְּךָ הַנִּמְצְאוּ פֹה רָאִיתִי בְשִׂמְחָה לְהִתְנַדֶּב לָךְ. יח יהוה אֱלֹהֵי אַבְרָהָם יִצְחָק וְיִשְׂרָאֵל אֲבֹתֵינוּ שָׁמְרָה זֹּאת לְעוֹלָם לְיֵצֶר מַחְשְׁבוֹת לְבַב עַמֶּךָ; וְהָכֵן לְבָבָם אֵלֶיךָ. יטוְלִשְׁלֹמֹה בְנִי תֵּן לֵבָב שָׁלֵם לִשְׁמוֹר מִצְוֹתֶיךָ עֵדְוֹתֶיךָ וְחֻקֶּיךָ; וְלַעֲשׂוֹת הַכֹּל וְלִבְנוֹת הַבִּירָה אֲשֶׁר הֲכִינוֹתִי.
כוַיֹּאמֶר דָּוִיד לְכָל הַקָּהָל בָּרְכוּ נָא אֶת יהוה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם; וַיְבָרְכוּ כָל הַקָּהָל לַיהוה אֱלֹהֵי אֲבֹתֵיהֶם וַיִּקְּדוּ וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּ לַיהוה וְלַמֶּלֶךְ. כאוַיִּזְבְּחוּ לַיהוה זְבָחִים וַיַּעֲלוּ עֹלוֹת לַיהוה לְמָחֳרַת הַיּוֹם הַהוּא פָּרִים אֶלֶף אֵלִים אֶלֶף כְּבָשִׂים אֶלֶף וְנִסְכֵּיהֶם; וּזְבָחִים לָרֹב לְכָל יִשְׂרָאֵל. כבוַיֹּאכְלוּ וַיִּשְׁתּוּ לִפְנֵי יהוה בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא בְּשִׂמְחָה גְדוֹלָה; וַיַּמְלִיכוּ שֵׁנִית לִשְׁלֹמֹה בֶן דָּוִיד וַיִּמְשְׁחוּ לַיהוה לְנָגִיד וּלְצָדוֹק לְכֹהֵן. כגוַיֵּשֶׁב שְׁלֹמֹה עַל כִּסֵּא יהוה לְמֶלֶךְ תַּחַת דָּוִיד אָבִיו וַיַּצְלַח; וַיִּשְׁמְעוּ אֵלָיו כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל. כדוְכָל הַשָּׂרִים וְהַגִּבֹּרִים וְגַם כָּל בְּנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ דָּוִיד נָתְנוּ יָד תַּחַת שְׁלֹמֹה הַמֶּלֶךְ. כהוַיְגַדֵּל יהוה אֶת שְׁלֹמֹה לְמַעְלָה לְעֵינֵי כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל; וַיִּתֵּן עָלָיו הוֹד מַלְכוּת אֲשֶׁר לֹא הָיָה עַל כָּל מֶלֶךְ לְפָנָיו עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל.
