Divrei HaYamim Bet 1 – דברי הימים ב פרק א

t.o.c.

1And Shlomo Ben David was strengthened in his kingdom, and  יהוה  his Elohim was with him, and magnified him exceedingly. 2And Shlomo spoke unto all Yisra’el, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every prince in all Yisra’el, the heads of the fathers’ houses. 3So Shlomo, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Givon; for there was the Ohel Mo’ed of Elohim, which Moshe the servant of  יהוה  had made in the wilderness. 4But the Aron HaElohim had David brought up from Kiryat Y’arim to the place that David had prepared for it; for he had pitched an Ohel for it at Yerushalayim. 5Moreover the brazen Mizbe’akh, that Betzalel Ben Uri Ben Khur had made, had been put before the Mishkan  יהוה ; and Shlomo and the congregation sought unto it. 6And Shlomo offered there, upon the brazen Mizbe’akh before  יהוה , which was at the Ohel Mo’ed, he offered a thousand Olot upon it. 7In that night did Elohim appear unto Shlomo, and said unto him, “Ask what I shall give you.” 8And Shlomo said unto Elohim, “You have shown great kindness unto David my father, and have made me Melekh in his stead. 9Now, O  יהוה  Elohim, let Your promise unto David my father be established; for You have made me Melekh over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. 10Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this Your people, that is so great?”  11And Elohim said to Shlomo, “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches, wealth, or honor, nor the life of them that hate you, neither yet have you asked long life, but you have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge My people, over whom I have made you Melekh; 12wisdom and knowledge is granted unto you, and I will give you riches, and wealth, and honor, such as none of the kings have had that have been before you, neither shall there any after you have the like.” 13So Shlomo came to the high place that was at Givon, from before the Ohel Mo’ed, unto Yerushalayim; and he reigned over Yisra’el.

14And Shlomo gathered chariots and horsemen; and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he placed in the chariot cities, and with HaMelekh at Yerushalayim. 15And HaMelekh made silver and gold to be in Yerushalayim as stones, and cedars he made to be as the sycamore trees that are in the Lowland, for abundance. 16And the horses which Shlomo had were brought out of Mitzrayim; also out of Keve, the Melekh’s merchants buying them of the men of Keve at a price. 17And they fetched up, and brought out of Mitzrayim a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; and so for all the kings of the Khiti, and the kings of Aram, did they bring them out by their means. 18Now Shlomo purposed to build a house for the Name of  יהוה , and a house for his kingdom.
