1Yotam was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Yerushalayim; and his mother’s name was Yerushah the daughter of Tzadok. 2And he did that which was right in the eyes of יהוה , according to all that his father Uzi-Yahu had done; but he entered not into the Heikhal יהוה . And the people did yet corruptly. 3He built the upper gate of Beit יהוה , and on the wall of Ofel he built much. 4Moreover he built cities in the hill-country of Yehudah, and in the forest he built castles and towers. 5He fought also with the king of the children of Amon, and prevailed against them. And the children of Amon gave him the same year a hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the children of Amon render unto him, in the second year also, and in the third. 6So Yotam became mighty, because he ordered his ways before יהוה his Elohim. 7Now the rest of the acts of Yotam, and all his wars, and his ways, behold, they are written in the book of the Melakhim of Yisra’el and Yehudah. 8He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Yerushalayim. 9And Yotam slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David; and Akhaz his son reigned in his stead.
אבֶּן עֶשְׂרִים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה יוֹתָם בְּמָלְכוֹ וְשֵׁשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירוּשָׁלִָם; וְשֵׁם אִמּוֹ יְרוּשָׁה בַּת צָדוֹק. בוַיַּעַשׂ הַיָּשָׁר בְּעֵינֵי יהוה כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה עֻזִּיָּהוּ אָבִיו רַק לֹא בָא אֶל הֵיכַל יהוה ; וְעוֹד הָעָם מַשְׁחִיתִים. גהוּא בָּנָה אֶת שַׁעַר בֵּית יהוה הָעֶלְיוֹן; וּבְחוֹמַת הָעֹפֶל בָּנָה לָרֹב. דוְעָרִים בָּנָה בְּהַר יְהוּדָה; וּבֶחֳרָשִׁים בָּנָה בִּירָנִיּוֹת וּמִגְדָּלִים. הוְהוּא נִלְחַם עִם מֶלֶךְ בְּנֵי עַמּוֹן וַיֶּחֱזַק עֲלֵיהֶם וַיִּתְּנוּ לוֹ בְנֵי עַמּוֹן בַּשָּׁנָה הַהִיא מֵאָה כִּכַּר כֶּסֶף וַעֲשֶׂרֶת אֲלָפִים כֹּרִים חִטִּים וּשְׂעוֹרִים עֲשֶׂרֶת אֲלָפִים: זֹאת הֵשִׁיבוּ לוֹ בְּנֵי עַמּוֹן וּבַשָּׁנָה הַשֵּׁנִית וְהַשְּׁלִשִׁית. ווַיִּתְחַזֵּק יוֹתָם: כִּי הֵכִין דְּרָכָיו לִפְנֵי יהוה אֱלֹהָיו. זוְיֶתֶר דִּבְרֵי יוֹתָם וְכָל מִלְחֲמֹתָיו וּדְרָכָיו הִנָּם כְּתוּבִים עַל סֵפֶר מַלְכֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וִיהוּדָה. חבֶּן עֶשְׂרִים וְחָמֵשׁ שָׁנָה הָיָה בְמָלְכוֹ; וְשֵׁשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה מָלַךְ בִּירוּשָׁלִָם. טוַיִּשְׁכַּב יוֹתָם עִם אֲבֹתָיו וַיִּקְבְּרוּ אֹתוֹ בְּעִיר דָּוִיד; וַיִּמְלֹךְ אָחָז בְּנוֹ תַּחְתָּיו.
