1And Khizki-Yahu sent to all Yisra’el and Yehudah, and wrote letters also to Efrayim and Menasheh, that they should come to Beit יהוה at Yerushalayim, to keep the Pesakh unto יהוה Elohei Yisra’el. 2For HaMelekh had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Yerushalayim, to keep the Pesakh in the second khodesh. 3For they could not keep it at that time, because the Kohanim had not hallowed themselves in sufficient number, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Yerushalayim. 4And the thing was right in the eyes of HaMelekh and of all the congregation. 5So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Yisra’el, from Be’er Shava even to Dan, that they should come to keep the Pesakh unto יהוה Elohei Yisra’el, at Yerushalayim; for they had not kept it in great numbers according as it is written. 6So the posts went with the letters from HaMelekh and his princes throughout all Yisra’el and Yehudah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, “You B’nei Yisra’el, turn back unto יהוה , the Elohim of Avraham, Yitz’khak, and Yisra’el, that He may return to the remnant that are escaped of you out of the hand of the kings of Ashur. 7And be not like your fathers, and like your brethren, who acted treacherously against יהוה , the Elohim of their fathers, so that He delivered them to be an astonishment, as you see. 8Now be not stiffnecked, as your fathers were; but yield yourselves unto יהוה , and enter into His Mikdash, which He has consecrated forever, and serve יהוה your Elohim, that His fierce anger may turn away from you. 9For if you turn back unto יהוה , your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that led them captive, and shall come back into this land; for יהוה your Elohim is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away His face from you, if you repent unto Him.” 10So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Efrayim and Menasheh, even unto Zevulun; but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them. 11Nevertheless many of Asher and Menasheh and of Zevulun humbled themselves, and came to Yerushalayim. 12Also in Yehudah was the hand of Elohim to give them one heart, to do the commandment of HaMelekh and of the princes by the D’var יהוה . And13 there assembled at Yerushalayim much people to keep Khag HaMatzot in the second khodesh, a very great congregation. 14And they arose and took away the altars that were in Yerushalayim, and all the altars for incense they took away, and cast them into the brook Kidron. 15Then they killed the Pesakh lamb on the fourteenth day of the second khodesh; and the Kohanim and the Levi’im were ashamed, and hallowed themselves, and brought Olot into Beit יהוה . And16 they stood in their place after their order, according to the Torah of Moshe the man of Elohim; the Kohanim dashed the blood, which they received of the hand of the Levi’im. 17For there were many in the congregation that had not hallowed themselves; therefore the Levi’im had the charge of killing the Pesakh lambs for every one that was not clean, to consecrate them unto יהוה . For18 a multitude of the people, even many of Efrayim and Menasheh, Yisakhar and Zevulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the Pesakh otherwise than it is written. For Khizki-Yahu had prayed for them, saying, “May יהוה HaTov pardon 19every one that sets his heart to seek Elohim, יהוה , the Elohim of his fathers, though he is not [cleansed] according to the purification that pertains to HaKodesh.” 20And יהוה hearkened to Khizki-Yahu, and healed the people. 21And B’nei Yisra’el that were present at Yerushalayim kept Khag HaMatzot seven days with great gladness; and the Levi’im and the Kohanim praised יהוה day by day, singing with loud instruments unto יהוה . And22 Khizki-Yahu spoke encouragingly unto all the Levi’im that were well skilled in the service of יהוה . So they did eat throughout the Khag for the seven days, offering sacrifices of Sh’lamim, and giving thanks to יהוה , the Elohim of their fathers. 23And the whole congregation took counsel to keep another seven days; and they kept another seven days with gladness. 24For Khizki-Yahu Melekh Yehudah did give to the congregation for offerings a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep; and Kohanim hallowed themselves in great numbers. 25And all the congregation of Yehudah, with the Kohanim and the Levi’im, and all the congregation that came out of Yisra’el, and the strangers that came out of the land of Yisra’el, and that dwelt in Yehudah, rejoiced. 26So there was great joy in Yerushalayim; for since the time of Shlomo Ben David Melekh Yisra’el there was not the like in Yerushalayim. 27Then the Kohanim the Levi’im arose and blessed the people; and their voice was heard [of יהוה ], and their prayer came up to His Kadosh habitation, even unto heaven.
