1Now when all this was finished, all Yisra’el that were present went out to the cities of Yehudah, and broke in pieces the pillars, and hewed down the Asherim, and broke down the high places and the altars out of all Yehudah and Binyamin, in Efrayim also and Menasheh, until they had destroyed them all. Then all B’nei Yisra’el returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.
2And Khizki-Yahu appointed the courses of the Kohanim and the Levi’im after their courses, every man according to his service, both the Kohanim and the Levi’im, for Olot and for Sh’lamim, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the camp of יהוה . He3 appointed also the portion of HaMelekh of his substance for the Olot, to wit, for the morning and evening Olot, and the Olot for the Shabbatot, and for the khadashim, and for the Mo’edim, as it is written in the Torah of יהוה . Moreover4, he commanded the people that dwelt in Yerushalayim to give the portion of the Kohanim and the Levi’im, that they might give themselves to the Torah of יהוה . And5 as soon as the Mitzvah came abroad, B’nei Yisra’el gave in abundance the first-fruits of grain, choice wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tenth-part of all things they brought in abundantly. 6And B’nei Yisra’el and Yehudah, that dwelt in the cities of Yehudah, they also brought in the tenth-part of oxen and sheep, and the tenth-part of consecrated things which were consecrated unto יהוה their Elohim, and laid them by heaps. 7In the third khodesh they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh khodesh. 8And when Khizki-Yahu and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed יהוה , and His people Yisra’el.
9Then Khizki-Yahu questioned the Kohanim and the Levi’im concerning the heaps. 10And Azar-Yahu the chief Kohen, of the house of Tzadok, answered him and said, “Since the people began to bring the offerings into Beit יהוה , we have eaten and had enough, and have left plenty; for יהוה has blessed His people; and that which is left is this great store.” 11Then Khizki-Yahu commanded to prepare chambers in Beit יהוה ; and they prepared them. 12And they brought in the offerings and the tenth-part and the consecrated things faithfully; and over them Konan-Yahu HaLevi was ruler, and Shimei his brother was second. 13And Yekhi’el, and Azaz-Yahu, and Nakhat, and Asahel, and Yerimot, and Yozavad, and Eli’el, and Yismakh-Yahu, and Makhat, and Bena-Yahu, were overseers under the hand of Konan-Yahu and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Khizki-Yahu HaMelekh, and Azar-Yahu the ruler of Beit HaElohim. 14And Kore Ben Imnah HaLevi, the porter at the east gate, was over the freewill-offerings of Elohim, to distribute the offerings of יהוה , and the Kodesh HaKadashim. 15And under him were Eden, and Minyamin, and Yeshua, and Shema-Yahu, Amar-Yahu, and Shekhan-Yahu, in the cities of the Kohanim, in their office of trust, to give to their brethren by courses, as well to the great as to the small; 16beside them that were reckoned by genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even every one that entered into Beit יהוה , for his daily portion, for their service in their charges according to their courses; 17and them that were reckoned by genealogy of the Kohanim by their fathers’ houses, and the Levi’im from twenty years old and upward, in their charges by their courses; 18even to give to them that were reckoned by genealogy of all their little ones, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, through all the congregation; for in their office of trust they administered the consecrated gifts; 19also for the sons of Aharon the Kohanim, that were in the fields of the open land about their cities, in every city, there were men that were mentioned by name, to give portions to all the males among the Kohanim, and to all that were reckoned by genealogy among the Levi’im. 20And thus did Khizki-Yahu throughout all Yehudah; and he wrought that which was good and right and faithful before יהוה his Elohim. 21And in every work that he began in the service of Beit HaElohim, and in the Torah, and in the Mitzvot, to seek his Elohim, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.
אוּכְכַלּוֹת כָּל זֹאת יָצְאוּ כָל יִשְׂרָאֵל הַנִּמְצְאִים לְעָרֵי יְהוּדָה וַיְשַׁבְּרוּ הַמַּצֵּבוֹת וַיְגַדְּעוּ הָאֲשֵׁרִים וַיְנַתְּצוּ אֶת הַבָּמוֹת וְאֶת הַמִּזְבְּחוֹת מִכָּל יְהוּדָה וּבִנְיָמִן וּבְאֶפְרַיִם וּמְנַשֶּׁה עַד לְכַלֵּה; וַיָּשׁוּבוּ כָּל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אִישׁ לַאֲחֻזָּתוֹ לְעָרֵיהֶם.
בוַיַּעֲמֵד יְחִזְקִיָּהוּ אֶת מַחְלְקוֹת הַכֹּהֲנִים וְהַלְוִיִּם עַל מַחְלְקוֹתָם אִישׁ כְּפִי עֲבֹדָתוֹ לַכֹּהֲנִים וְלַלְוִיִּם לְעֹלָה וְלִשְׁלָמִים לְשָׁרֵת וּלְהֹדוֹת וּלְהַלֵּל בְּשַׁעֲרֵי מַחֲנוֹת יהוה . גוּמְנָת הַמֶּלֶךְ מִן רְכוּשׁוֹ לָעֹלוֹת לְעֹלוֹת הַבֹּקֶר וְהָעֶרֶב וְהָעֹלוֹת לַשַּׁבָּתוֹת וְלֶחֳדָשִׁים וְלַמֹּעֲדִים כַּכָּתוּב בְּתוֹרַת יהוה . דוַיֹּאמֶר לָעָם לְיוֹשְׁבֵי יְרוּשָׁלִַם לָתֵת מְנָת הַכֹּהֲנִים וְהַלְוִיִּם לְמַעַן יֶחֶזְקוּ בְּתוֹרַת יהוה . הוְכִפְרֹץ הַדָּבָר הִרְבּוּ בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל רֵאשִׁית דָּגָן תִּירוֹשׁ וְיִצְהָר וּדְבַשׁ וְכֹל תְּבוּאַת שָׂדֶה; וּמַעְשַׂר הַכֹּל לָרֹב הֵבִיאוּ. ווּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וִיהוּדָה הַיּוֹשְׁבִים בְּעָרֵי יְהוּדָה גַּם הֵם מַעְשַׂר בָּקָר וָצֹאן וּמַעְשַׂר קָדָשִׁים הַמְקֻדָּשִׁים לַיהוה אֱלֹהֵיהֶם: הֵבִיאוּ וַיִּתְּנוּ עֲרֵמוֹת עֲרֵמוֹת. זבַּחֹדֶשׁ הַשְּׁלִשִׁי הֵחֵלּוּ הָעֲרֵמוֹת לְיִסּוֹד; וּבַחֹדֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִי כִּלּוּ. חוַיָּבֹאוּ יְחִזְקִיָּהוּ וְהַשָּׂרִים וַיִּרְאוּ אֶת הָעֲרֵמוֹת; וַיְבָרְכוּ אֶת יהוה וְאֵת עַמּוֹ יִשְׂרָאֵל.
טוַיִּדְרֹשׁ יְחִזְקִיָּהוּ עַל הַכֹּהֲנִים וְהַלְוִיִּם עַל הָעֲרֵמוֹת. יוַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו עֲזַרְיָהוּ הַכֹּהֵן הָרֹאשׁ לְבֵית צָדוֹק: וַיֹּאמֶר מֵהָחֵל הַתְּרוּמָה לָבִיא בֵית יהוה אָכוֹל וְשָׂבוֹעַ וְהוֹתֵר עַד לָרוֹב כִּי יהוה בֵּרַךְ אֶת עַמּוֹ וְהַנּוֹתָר אֶת הֶהָמוֹן הַזֶּה. יאוַיֹּאמֶר יְחִזְקִיָּהוּ לְהָכִין לְשָׁכוֹת בְּבֵית יהוה וַיָּכִינוּ. יבוַיָּבִיאוּ אֶת הַתְּרוּמָה וְהַמַּעֲשֵׂר וְהַקֳּדָשִׁים בֶּאֱמוּנָה; וַעֲלֵיהֶם נָגִיד כונניהו (כָּנַנְיָהוּ) הַלֵּוִי וְשִׁמְעִי אָחִיהוּ מִשְׁנֶה. יגוִיחִיאֵל וַעֲזַזְיָהוּ וְנַחַת וַעֲשָׂהאֵל וִירִימוֹת וְיוֹזָבָד וֶאֱלִיאֵל וְיִסְמַכְיָהוּ וּמַחַת וּבְנָיָהוּ פְּקִידִים מִיַּד כונניהו (כָּנַנְיָהוּ) וְשִׁמְעִי אָחִיו בְּמִפְקַד יְחִזְקִיָּהוּ הַמֶּלֶךְ וַעֲזַרְיָהוּ נְגִיד בֵּית הָאֱלֹהִים. ידוְקוֹרֵא בֶן יִמְנָה הַלֵּוִי הַשּׁוֹעֵר לַמִּזְרָחָה עַל נִדְבוֹת הָאֱלֹהִים לָתֵת תְּרוּמַת יהוה וְקָדְשֵׁי הַקֳּדָשִׁים. טווְעַל יָדוֹ עֵדֶן וּמִנְיָמִן וְיֵשׁוּעַ וּשְׁמַעְיָהוּ אֲמַרְיָהוּ וּשְׁכַנְיָהוּ בְּעָרֵי הַכֹּהֲנִים בֶּאֱמוּנָה: לָתֵת לַאֲחֵיהֶם בְּמַחְלְקוֹת כַּגָּדוֹל כַּקָּטָן. טזמִלְּבַד הִתְיַחְשָׂם לִזְכָרִים מִבֶּן שָׁלוֹשׁ שָׁנִים וּלְמַעְלָה לְכָל הַבָּא לְבֵית יהוה לִדְבַר יוֹם בְּיוֹמוֹ לַעֲבוֹדָתָם בְּמִשְׁמְרוֹתָם כְּמַחְלְקוֹתֵיהֶם. יזוְאֵת הִתְיַחֵשׂ הַכֹּהֲנִים לְבֵית אֲבוֹתֵיהֶם וְהַלְוִיִּם מִבֶּן עֶשְׂרִים שָׁנָה וּלְמָעְלָה בְּמִשְׁמְרוֹתֵיהֶם בְּמַחְלְקוֹתֵיהֶם. יחוּלְהִתְיַחֵשׂ בְּכָל טַפָּם נְשֵׁיהֶם וּבְנֵיהֶם וּבְנוֹתֵיהֶם לְכָל קָהָל: כִּי בֶאֱמוּנָתָם יִתְקַדְּשׁוּ קֹדֶשׁ. יטוְלִבְנֵי אַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֲנִים בִּשְׂדֵי מִגְרַשׁ עָרֵיהֶם בְּכָל עִיר וָעִיר אֲנָשִׁים אֲשֶׁר נִקְּבוּ בְּשֵׁמוֹת לָתֵת מָנוֹת לְכָל זָכָר בַּכֹּהֲנִים וּלְכָל הִתְיַחֵשׂ בַּלְוִיִּם. כוַיַּעַשׂ כָּזֹאת יְחִזְקִיָּהוּ בְּכָל יְהוּדָה; וַיַּעַשׂ הַטּוֹב וְהַיָּשָׁר וְהָאֱמֶת לִפְנֵי יהוה אֱלֹהָיו. כאוּבְכָל מַעֲשֶׂה אֲשֶׁר הֵחֵל בַּעֲבוֹדַת בֵּית הָאֱלֹהִים וּבַתּוֹרָה וּבַמִּצְוָה לִדְרֹשׁ לֵאלֹהָיו בְּכָל לְבָבוֹ עָשָׂה וְהִצְלִיחַ.
