1And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, wherein Shlomo had built Beit יהוה , and his own house, 2that the cities which Khuram had given to Shlomo, Shlomo built them, and caused B’nei Yisra’el to dwell there. 3And Shlomo went to Khamat Tzovah, and prevailed against it. 4And he built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the store-cities, which he built in Khamat. 5Also he built Beit Khoron the upper, and Beit Khoron the lower, fortified cities, with walls, gates, and bars; 6and Ba’alat, and all the store-cities that Shlomo had, and all the cities for his chariots, and the cities for his horsemen, and all that Shlomo desired to build for his pleasure in Yerushalayim, and in Levanon, and in all the land of his dominion. 7As for all the people that were left of the Khiti, and the Amori, and the Perizi, and the Khivi, and the Yevusi, who were not of Yisra’el; 8of their children that were left after them in the land, whom B’nei Yisra’el consumed not, of them did Shlomo raise a levy of bondservants, unto this day. 9But of B’nei Yisra’el did Shlomo make no servants for his work; but they were men of war, and chief of his captains, and rulers of his chariots and of his horsemen.
10And these were the chief officers of Melekh Shlomo, even two hundred and fifty, that bore rule over the people. 11And Shlomo brought up the daughter of Paroh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her; for he said, “No wife of mine shall dwell in Beit David Melekh Yisra’el, because the places are consecrated, whereunto the Aron יהוה has come.”
12Then Shlomo offered Olot unto יהוה on the Mizbe’akh יהוה , which he had built before the porch, 13even as the duty of every day required, offering according to the Mitzvah of Moshe, on the Shabbatot, and on the khadashim, and on the Mo’edim, three times in the year, even in Khag HaMatzot, and in Khag HaShavu’ot, and in Khag Sukkot. 14And he appointed, according to the ordinance of David his father, the courses of the Kohanim to their service, and the Levi’im to their charges, to praise, and to minister before the Kohanim, as the duty of every day required; the doorkeepers also by their courses at every gate; for so had David the man of Elohim commanded. 15And they departed not from the commandment of HaMelekh unto the Kohanim and Levi’im concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures. 16So all the work of Shlomo was set in order from the day of the foundation of Beit יהוה , and until it was finished. So Beit יהוה was perfected. 17Then went Shlomo to Etzyon Gever, and to Elot, on the sea-shore in the land of Edom. 18And Khuram sent him by the hands of his servants ships and servants that had knowledge of the sea; and they came with the servants of Shlomo to Ofir, and fetched from there four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to Melekh Shlomo.
אוַיְהִי מִקֵּץ עֶשְׂרִים שָׁנָה אֲשֶׁר בָּנָה שְׁלֹמֹה אֶת בֵּית יהוה וְאֶת בֵּיתוֹ. בוְהֶעָרִים אֲשֶׁר נָתַן חוּרָם לִשְׁלֹמֹה בָּנָה שְׁלֹמֹה אֹתָם; וַיּוֹשֶׁב שָׁם אֶת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל. גוַיֵּלֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה חֲמָת צוֹבָה וַיֶּחֱזַק עָלֶיהָ. דוַיִּבֶן אֶת תַּדְמֹר בַּמִּדְבָּר וְאֵת כָּל עָרֵי הַמִּסְכְּנוֹת אֲשֶׁר בָּנָה בַּחֲמָת. הוַיִּבֶן אֶת בֵּית חוֹרוֹן הָעֶלְיוֹן וְאֶת בֵּית חוֹרוֹן הַתַּחְתּוֹן עָרֵי מָצוֹר חוֹמוֹת דְּלָתַיִם וּבְרִיחַ. ווְאֶת בַּעֲלָת וְאֵת כָּל עָרֵי הַמִּסְכְּנוֹת אֲשֶׁר הָיוּ לִשְׁלֹמֹה וְאֵת כָּל עָרֵי הָרֶכֶב וְאֵת עָרֵי הַפָּרָשִׁים; וְאֵת כָּל חֵשֶׁק שְׁלֹמֹה אֲשֶׁר חָשַׁק לִבְנוֹת בִּירוּשָׁלִַם וּבַלְּבָנוֹן וּבְכֹל אֶרֶץ מֶמְשַׁלְתּוֹ. זכָּל הָעָם הַנּוֹתָר מִן הַחִתִּי וְהָאֱמֹרִי וְהַפְּרִזִּי וְהַחִוִּי וְהַיְבוּסִי אֲשֶׁר לֹא מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל הֵמָּה. חמִן בְּנֵיהֶם אֲשֶׁר נוֹתְרוּ אַחֲרֵיהֶם בָּאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר לֹא כִלּוּם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל; וַיַּעֲלֵם שְׁלֹמֹה לְמַס עַד הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה. טוּמִן בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר לֹא נָתַן שְׁלֹמֹה לַעֲבָדִים לִמְלַאכְתּוֹ: כִּי הֵמָּה אַנְשֵׁי מִלְחָמָה וְשָׂרֵי שָׁלִישָׁיו וְשָׂרֵי רִכְבּוֹ וּפָרָשָׁיו.
יוְאֵלֶּה שָׂרֵי הנציבים (הַנִּצָּבִים) אֲשֶׁר לַמֶּלֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה חֲמִשִּׁים וּמָאתָיִם הָרֹדִים בָּעָם. יאוְאֶת בַּת פַּרְעֹה הֶעֱלָה שְׁלֹמֹה מֵעִיר דָּוִיד לַבַּיִת אֲשֶׁר בָּנָה לָהּ: כִּי אָמַר לֹא תֵשֵׁב אִשָּׁה לִי בְּבֵית דָּוִיד מֶלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל כִּי קֹדֶשׁ הֵמָּה אֲשֶׁר בָּאָה אֲלֵיהֶם אֲרוֹן יהוה .
יבאָז הֶעֱלָה שְׁלֹמֹה עֹלוֹת לַיהוה עַל מִזְבַּח יהוה אֲשֶׁר בָּנָה לִפְנֵי הָאוּלָם. יגוּבִדְבַר יוֹם בְּיוֹם לְהַעֲלוֹת כְּמִצְוַת מֹשֶׁה לַשַּׁבָּתוֹת וְלֶחֳדָשִׁים וְלַמּוֹעֲדוֹת שָׁלוֹשׁ פְּעָמִים בַּשָּׁנָה בְּחַג הַמַּצּוֹת וּבְחַג הַשָּׁבֻעוֹת וּבְחַג הַסֻּכּוֹת. ידוַיַּעֲמֵד כְּמִשְׁפַּט דָּוִיד אָבִיו אֶת מַחְלְקוֹת הַכֹּהֲנִים עַל עֲבֹדָתָם וְהַלְוִיִּם עַל מִשְׁמְרוֹתָם לְהַלֵּל וּלְשָׁרֵת נֶגֶד הַכֹּהֲנִים לִדְבַר יוֹם בְּיוֹמוֹ וְהַשֹּׁעֲרִים בְּמַחְלְקוֹתָם לְשַׁעַר וָשָׁעַר: כִּי כֵן מִצְוַת דָּוִיד אִישׁ הָאֱלֹהִים. טווְלֹא סָרוּ מִצְוַת הַמֶּלֶךְ עַל הַכֹּהֲנִים וְהַלְוִיִּם לְכָל דָּבָר וְלָאֹצָרוֹת. טזוַתִּכֹּן כָּל מְלֶאכֶת שְׁלֹמֹה עַד הַיּוֹם מוּסַד בֵּית יהוה וְעַד כְּלֹתוֹ: שָׁלֵם בֵּית יהוה . יזאָז הָלַךְ שְׁלֹמֹה לְעֶצְיוֹן גֶּבֶר וְאֶל אֵילוֹת עַל שְׂפַת הַיָּם בְּאֶרֶץ אֱדוֹם. יחוַיִּשְׁלַח לוֹ חוּרָם בְּיַד עֲבָדָיו אוניות (אֳנִיּוֹת) וַעֲבָדִים יוֹדְעֵי יָם וַיָּבֹאוּ עִם עַבְדֵי שְׁלֹמֹה אוֹפִירָה וַיִּקְחוּ מִשָּׁם אַרְבַּע מֵאוֹת וַחֲמִשִּׁים כִּכַּר זָהָב; וַיָּבִיאוּ אֶל הַמֶּלֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה.
