Iyov 19 – איוב יט

¹Then Iyov answered and said,

²“How long will you vex my soul, and crush me with words?

³These ten times have you reproached me; you are not ashamed that you deal harshly with me.

⁴And if it is indeed that I have erred, my error remains with myself.

⁵If indeed you will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach;

⁶Know now that Eloha has subverted my cause, and has encompassed me with His net.

⁷Behold, I cry out, ‘Violence!’ But I am not heard; I cry aloud, but there is no justice.

⁸He has fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and has set darkness in my paths.

⁹He has stripped me of my kavod, and taken the crown from my head.

¹⁰He has broken me down on every side, and I am gone; and my hope has He plucked up like a tree.

¹¹He has also kindled His wrath against me, and He counts me unto Him as one of His adversaries.

¹²His troops come on together, and cast up their way against me, and encamp round about my tent.

¹³He has put my brethren far from me, and my acquaintances are wholly estranged from me.

¹⁴My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.

¹⁵They that dwell in my house, and my maids, count me for a stranger; I am become a foreigner in their sight.

¹⁶I call unto my servant, and he gives me no answer, though I entreat him with my mouth.

¹⁷My breath is abhorred of my wife, and I am loathsome to the children of my tribe.

¹⁸Even urchins despised me; if I arise, they speak against me.

¹⁹All my intimate friends abhor me; and they whom I loved are turned against me.

²⁰My bone cleaves to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.

²¹Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O you my friends; for the hand of Eloha has touched me.

²²Why do you persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

²³Oh that my words were now written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book!

²⁴That with an iron pen and lead they were graven in the rock forever!

²⁵But as for me, I know that Go’eli lives, and that He will witness at the last upon the dust;

²⁶And when after my skin this is destroyed, then without my flesh shall I see Eloha;

²⁷Whom I, even I, shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another’s. My reins are consumed within me.

²⁸If you say, ‘How we will persecute him!’ Seeing that the root of the matter is found in me;

²⁹Be afraid of the sword; for wrath brings the punishments of the sword, that you may know there is a judgment.”

^אוַיַּעַן אִיּוֹב וַיֹּאמַר,

^בעַד אָנָה תּוֹגְיוּן נַפְשִׁי; וּתְדַכּאוּנַנִי בְמִלִּים.

^גזֶה עֶשֶׂר פְּעָמִים תַּכְלִימוּנִי; לֹא תֵבֹשׁוּ תַּהְכְּרוּ לִי.

^דוְאַף אָמְנָם שָׁגִיתִי; אִתִּי תָּלִין מְשׁוּגָתִי.

^האִם אָמְנָם עָלַי תַּגְדִּילוּ; וְתוֹכִיחוּ עָלַי חֶרְפָּתִי.

^ודְּעוּ אֵפוֹ כִּי אֱלוֹהַּ עִוְּתָנִי; וּמְצוּדוֹ עָלַי הִקִּיף.

^זהֵן אֶצְעַק חָמָס וְלֹא אֵעָנֶה; אֲשַׁוַּע וְאֵין מִשְׁפָּט.

^חאָרְחִי גָדַר וְלֹא אֶעֱבוֹר; וְעַל נְתִיבוֹתַי חֹשֶׁךְ יָשִׂים.

^טכְּבוֹדִי מֵעָלַי הִפְשִׁיט; וַיָּסַר עֲטֶרֶת רֹאשִׁי.

^ייִתְּצֵנִי סָבִיב וָאֵלַךְ; וַיַּסַּע כָּעֵץ תִּקְוָתִי.

^יאוַיַּחַר עָלַי אַפּוֹ; וַיַּחְשְׁבֵנִי לוֹ כְצָרָיו.

^יביַחַד יָבֹאוּ גְדוּדָיו וַיָּסֹלּוּ עָלַי דַּרְכָּם; וַיַּחֲנוּ סָבִיב לְאָהֳלִי.

^יגאַחַי מֵעָלַי הִרְחִיק; וְיֹדְעַי אַךְ זָרוּ מִמֶּנִּי.

^ידחָדְלוּ קְרוֹבָי; וּמְיֻדָּעַי שְׁכֵחוּנִי.

^טוגָּרֵי בֵיתִי וְאַמְהֹתַי לְזָר תַּחְשְׁבֻנִי; נָכְרִי הָיִיתִי בְעֵינֵיהֶם.

^טזלְעַבְדִּי קָרָאתִי וְלֹא יַעֲנֶה; בְּמוֹ פִי אֶתְחַנֶּן לוֹ.

^יזרוּחִי זָרָה לְאִשְׁתִּי; וְחַנֹּתִי לִבְנֵי בִטְנִי.

^יחגַּם עֲוִילִים מָאֲסוּ בִי; אָקוּמָה וַיְדַבְּרוּ בִי.

^יטתִּעֲבוּנִי כָּל מְתֵי סוֹדִי; וְזֶה אָהַבְתִּי נֶהְפְּכוּ בִי.

^כבְּעוֹרִי וּבִבְשָׂרִי דָּבְקָה עַצְמִי; וָאֶתְמַלְּטָה בְּעוֹר שִׁנָּי.

^כאחָנֻּנִי חָנֻּנִי אַתֶּם רֵעָי: כִּי יַד אֱלוֹהַּ נָגְעָה בִּי.

^כבלָמָּה תִּרְדְּפֻנִי כְמוֹ אֵל; וּמִבְּשָׂרִי לֹא תִשְׂבָּעוּ.

^כגמִי יִתֵּן אֵפוֹ וְיִכָּתְבוּן מִלָּי: מִי יִתֵּן בַּסֵּפֶר וְיֻחָקוּ.

^כדבְּעֵט בַּרְזֶל וְעֹפָרֶת לָעַד בַּצּוּר יֵחָצְבוּן.

^כהוַאֲנִי יָדַעְתִּי גֹּאֲלִי חָי; וְאַחֲרוֹן עַל עָפָר יָקוּם.

^כווְאַחַר עוֹרִי נִקְּפוּ זֹאת; וּמִבְּשָׂרִי אֶחֱזֶה אֱלוֹהַּ.

^כזאֲשֶׁר אֲנִי אֶחֱזֶה לִּי וְעֵינַי רָאוּ וְלֹא זָר: כָּלוּ כִלְיֹתַי בְּחֵקִי.

^כחכִּי תֹאמְרוּ מַה נִּרְדָּף לוֹ; וְשֹׁרֶשׁ דָּבָר נִמְצָא בִי.

^כטגּוּרוּ לָכֶם מִפְּנֵי חֶרֶב כִּי חֵמָה עֲו‍ֹנוֹת חָרֶב: לְמַעַן תֵּדְעוּן שדין (שַׁדּוּן).
