1Then answered Bildad HaShukhi, and said,
2“Dominion and fear are with Him; He makes shalom in His high places.
3Is there any number of His armies? And upon whom does not His light arise?
4How then can man be just with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?
5Behold, even the moon has no brightness, and the stars are not pure in His sight;
6How much less is man, that is a worm! And the son of man, that is a maggot!”
אוַיַּעַן בִּלְדַּד הַשֻּׁחִי; וַיֹּאמַר,
בהַמְשֵׁל וָפַחַד עִמּוֹ; עֹשֶׂה שָׁלוֹם בִּמְרוֹמָיו.
גהֲיֵשׁ מִסְפָּר לִגְדוּדָיו; וְעַל מִי לֹא יָקוּם אוֹרֵהוּ.
דוּמַה יִּצְדַּק אֱנוֹשׁ עִם אֵל; וּמַה יִּזְכֶּה יְלוּד אִשָּׁה.
ההֵן עַד יָרֵחַ וְלֹא יַאֲהִיל; וְכוֹכָבִים לֹא זַכּוּ בְעֵינָיו.
ואַף כִּי אֱנוֹשׁ רִמָּה; וּבֶן אָדָם תּוֹלֵעָה.
