1Then Iyov answered and said,
2“How have you helped him that is without power! How have you saved the arm that has no strength!
3How have you counselled him that has no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge!
4With whose help have you uttered words? And whose spirit came forth from you?
5The shades tremble beneath the waters and the inhabitants thereof.
6She’ol is naked before Him, and Abadon has no covering.
7He stretches out the north over the empty space, and hangs the earth over nothing.
8He binds up the waters in His thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.
9He closes in the face of His throne, and spreads His cloud upon it.
10He has described a boundary upon the face of the waters, unto the confines of light and darkness.
11The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at His rebuke.
12He stirs up the sea with His power, and by His understanding He smites through Rahav.
13By His breath the heavens are serene; His hand has pierced the slant serpent.
14Lo, these are but the outskirts of His ways; and how small a whisper is heard of Him! But the thunder of His mighty deeds, who can understand?”
