1Moreover Elihu answered and said,
2“Do you think this to be your right, or do you say, ‘My righteousness is from God’,
3That you inquire, ‘What advantage will it be unto You?’ And, ‘What profit shall I have, more than if I had sinned?’
4I will give you an answer, and your companions with you.
5Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the skies, which are higher than you.
6If you have sinned, what do you do against Him? And if your transgressions are multiplied, what do you unto Him?
7If you are righteous, what do you give to Him? Or what does He receive of your hand?
8Your wickedness concerns a man as you are; and your righteousness a son of man.
9By reason of the multitude of oppressions they cry out; they cry for help by reason of the arm of the mighty.
10But none says, ‘Where is Eloha my Maker, who gives songs in the night;
11Who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth, and makes us wiser than the fowls of heaven?’
12There they cry, but none gives answer, because of the pride of evil men.
13Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will Shadai regard it.
14Yes, when you say you can not see Him, the cause is before Him; therefore wait for Him.
15And now, is it for nothing that He punished in His anger? And has He not full knowledge of arrogance?
16But Iyov does open his mouth in vanity; he multiplies words without knowledge.”
אוַיַּעַן אֱלִיהוּ וַיֹּאמַר,
בהֲזֹאת חָשַׁבְתָּ לְמִשְׁפָּט; אָמַרְתָּ צִדְקִי מֵאֵל.
גכִּי תֹאמַר מַה יִּסְכָּן לָךְ; מָה אֹעִיל מֵחַטָּאתִי.
דאֲנִי אֲשִׁיבְךָ מִלִּין וְאֶת רֵעֶיךָ עִמָּךְ.
ההַבֵּט שָׁמַיִם וּרְאֵה; וְשׁוּר שְׁחָקִים גָּבְהוּ מִמֶּךָּ.
ואִם חָטָאתָ מַה תִּפְעָל בּוֹ; וְרַבּוּ פְשָׁעֶיךָ מַה תַּעֲשֶׂה לּוֹ.
זאִם צָדַקְתָּ מַה תִּתֶּן לוֹ; אוֹ מַה מִּיָּדְךָ יִקָּח.
חלְאִישׁ כָּמוֹךָ רִשְׁעֶךָ; וּלְבֶן אָדָם צִדְקָתֶךָ.
טמֵרֹב עֲשׁוּקִים יַזְעִיקוּ; יְשַׁוְּעוּ מִזְּרוֹעַ רַבִּים.
יוְלֹא אָמַר אַיֵּה אֱלוֹהַּ עֹשָׂי: נֹתֵן זְמִרוֹת בַּלָּיְלָה.
יאמַלְּפֵנוּ מִבַּהֲמוֹת אָרֶץ; וּמֵעוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם יְחַכְּמֵנוּ.
יבשָׁם יִצְעֲקוּ וְלֹא יַעֲנֶה מִפְּנֵי גְּאוֹן רָעִים.
יגאַךְ שָׁוְא לֹא יִשְׁמַע אֵל; וְשַׁדַּי לֹא יְשׁוּרֶנָּה.
ידאַף כִּי תֹאמַר לֹא תְשׁוּרֶנּוּ; דִּין לְפָנָיו וּתְחוֹלֵל לוֹ.
טווְעַתָּה כִּי אַיִן פָּקַד אַפּוֹ; וְלֹא יָדַע בַּפַּשׁ מְאֹד.
טזוְאִיּוֹב הֶבֶל יִפְצֶה פִּיהוּ; בִּבְלִי דַעַת מִלִּין יַכְבִּר.
