1“Call now; is there any that will answer you? And to which of the K’doshim will you turn?
2For anger kills the foolish man, and envy slays the silly one.
3I have seen the foolish taking root; but suddenly I beheld his habitation cursed.
4His children are far from safety, and are crushed in the gate, with none to deliver them.
5Whose harvest the hungry eats up, and takes it even out of the thorns, and the snare gapes for their substance.
6For affliction comes not forth from the dust, neither does trouble spring out of the ground;
7But man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
8But as for me, I would seek for El, and unto Elohim would I commit my cause;
9Who does great things and unsearchable, marvellous things without number;
10Who gives rain upon the earth, and sends waters upon the fields;
11So that He sets up on high those that are low, and those that mourn are exalted to safety.
12He frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that their hands can perform nothing substantial.
13He takes the wise in their own craftiness; and the counsel of the wily is carried headlong.
14They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope at noonday as in the night.
15But He saves from the sword of their mouth, even the needy from the hand of the mighty.
16So the poor has hope, and iniquity stops her mouth.
17Behold, happy is the man whom Elohim corrects; therefore, despise not the chastening of Shadai.
18For He makes sore, and binds up; He wounds, and His hands make whole.
19He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven there shall no evil touch you.
20In famine He will redeem you from death; and in war from the power of the sword.
21You shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue; neither shall you be afraid of destruction when it comes.
22At destruction and famine you shall laugh; neither shall you be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
23For you shall be in league with the stones of the field; and the beasts of the field shall be at shalom with you.
24And you shall know that your tent is in shalom; and you shall visit your habitation, and shall miss nothing.
25You shall know also that your seed shall be great, and your offspring as the grass of the earth.
26You shall come to your grave in a ripe age, like as a shock of grain comes in in its season.
27Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know you it for your good.”
אקְרָא נָא הֲיֵשׁ עוֹנֶךָּ; וְאֶל מִי מִקְּדֹשִׁים תִּפְנֶה.
בכִּי לֶאֱוִיל יַהֲרָג כָּעַשׂ; וּפֹתֶה תָּמִית קִנְאָה.
גאֲנִי רָאִיתִי אֱוִיל מַשְׁרִישׁ; וָאֶקּוֹב נָוֵהוּ פִתְאֹם.
דיִרְחֲקוּ בָנָיו מִיֶּשַׁע; וְיִדַּכְּאוּ בַשַּׁעַר וְאֵין מַצִּיל.
האֲשֶׁר קְצִירוֹ רָעֵב יֹאכֵל וְאֶל מִצִּנִּים יִקָּחֵהוּ; וְשָׁאַף צַמִּים חֵילָם.
וכִּי לֹא יֵצֵא מֵעָפָר אָוֶן; וּמֵאֲדָמָה לֹא יִצְמַח עָמָל.
זכִּי אָדָם לְעָמָל יוּלָּד; וּבְנֵי רֶשֶׁף יַגְבִּיהוּ עוּף.
חאוּלָם אֲנִי אֶדְרֹשׁ אֶל אֵל; וְאֶל אֱלֹהִים אָשִׂים דִּבְרָתִי.
טעֹשֶׂה גְדֹלוֹת וְאֵין חֵקֶר; נִפְלָאוֹת עַד אֵין מִסְפָּר.
יהַנֹּתֵן מָטָר עַל פְּנֵי אָרֶץ; וְשֹׁלֵחַ מַיִם עַל פְּנֵי חוּצוֹת.
יאלָשׂוּם שְׁפָלִים לְמָרוֹם; וְקֹדְרִים שָׂגְבוּ יֶשַׁע.
יבמֵפֵר מַחְשְׁבוֹת עֲרוּמִים; וְלֹא תַעֲשֶׂנָה יְדֵיהֶם תֻּשִׁיָּה.
יגלֹכֵד חֲכָמִים בְּעָרְמָם; וַעֲצַת נִפְתָּלִים נִמְהָרָה.
ידיוֹמָם יְפַגְּשׁוּ חֹשֶׁךְ; וְכַלַּיְלָה יְמַשְׁשׁוּ בַצָּהֳרָיִם.
טווַיֹּשַׁע מֵחֶרֶב מִפִּיהֶם; וּמִיַּד חָזָק אֶבְיוֹן.
טזוַתְּהִי לַדַּל תִּקְוָה; וְעֹלָתָה קָפְצָה פִּיהָ.
יזהִנֵּה אַשְׁרֵי אֱנוֹשׁ יוֹכִחֶנּוּ אֱלוֹהַּ; וּמוּסַר שַׁדַּי אַל תִּמְאָס.
יחכִּי הוּא יַכְאִיב וְיֶחְבָּשׁ; יִמְחַץ וְיָדָו תִּרְפֶּינָה.
יטבְּשֵׁשׁ צָרוֹת יַצִּילֶךָּ; וּבְשֶׁבַע לֹא יִגַּע בְּךָ רָע.
כבְּרָעָב פָּדְךָ מִמָּוֶת; וּבְמִלְחָמָה מִידֵי חָרֶב.
כאבְּשׁוֹט לָשׁוֹן תֵּחָבֵא; וְלֹא תִירָא מִשֹּׁד כִּי יָבוֹא.
כבלְשֹׁד וּלְכָפָן תִּשְׂחָק; וּמֵחַיַּת הָאָרֶץ אַל תִּירָא.
כגכִּי עִם אַבְנֵי הַשָּׂדֶה בְרִיתֶךָ; וְחַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה הָשְׁלְמָה לָּךְ.
כדוְיָדַעְתָּ כִּי שָׁלוֹם אָהֳלֶךָ; וּפָקַדְתָּ נָוְךָ וְלֹא תֶחֱטָא.
כהוְיָדַעְתָּ כִּי רַב זַרְעֶךָ; וְצֶאֱצָאֶיךָ כְּעֵשֶׂב הָאָרֶץ.
כותָּבוֹא בְכֶלַח אֱלֵי קָבֶר; כַּעֲלוֹת גָּדִישׁ בְּעִתּוֹ.
כזהִנֵּה זֹאת חֲקַרְנוּהָ כֶּן הִיא; שְׁמָעֶנָּה וְאַתָּה דַע לָךְ.
