1Mishlei Shlomo. A wise son makes a glad father; but a foolish son is the grief of his mother.
2Treasures of wickedness profit nothing; but tzedaka delivers from death.
3 יהוה will not suffer the soul of a Tzadik to famish; but He thrusts away the desire of the wicked.
4He becomes poor that deals with a slack hand; but the hand of the diligent makes rich.
5A wise son gathers in summer; but a son that does shamefully sleeps in harvest.
6Blessings are upon the head of a Tzadik; but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.
7The memory of a Tzadik shall be for a blessing; but the name of the wicked shall rot.
8The wise in heart will receive Mitzvot; but a prating fool shall fall.
9He that walks uprightly walks securely; but he that perverts his ways shall be found out.
10He that winks with the eye causes sorrow; and a prating fool shall fall.
11The mouth of a Tzadik is a fountain of life; but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.
12Hatred stirs up strifes; but love covers all transgressions.
13In the lips of him that has discernment, wisdom is found; but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
14Wise men lay up knowledge; but the mouth of the foolish is an imminent ruin.
15The rich man’s wealth is his strong city; the ruin of the poor is their poverty.
16The wages of a Tzadik is life; the increase of the wicked is sin.
17He is in the way of life that heeds instruction; but he that forsakes reproof errs.
18He that hides hatred is of lying lips; and he that utters a slander is a fool.
19In the multitude of words there lacks no transgression; but he that refrains his lips is wise.
20The tongue of a Tzadik is as choice silver; the heart of the wicked is of little worth.
21The lips of the Tzadik feed many; but the foolish die for want of understanding.
22The blessing of יהוה , it makes rich, and toil adds nothing thereto.
23It is as sport to a fool to do wickedness, and so is wisdom to a man of discernment.
24The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him; and the desire of the Tzadikim shall be granted.
25When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more; but a Tzadik is an everlasting foundation.
26As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.
27The fear of יהוה prolongs days; but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28The hope of the Tzadikim is gladness; but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
29The way of יהוה is a stronghold to the upright, but ruin to the workers of iniquity.
30A Tzadik shall never be moved; but the wicked shall not inhabit the land.
31The mouth of a Tzadik buds with wisdom; but the contentious tongue shall be cut off.
32The lips of a Tzadik know what is acceptable; but the mouth of the wicked is all perversion.
אמִשְׁלֵי שְׁלֹמֹה: בֵּן חָכָם יְשַׂמַּח אָב; וּבֵן כְּסִיל תּוּגַת אִמּוֹ.
בלֹא יוֹעִילוּ אוֹצְרוֹת רֶשַׁע; וּצְדָקָה תַּצִּיל מִמָּוֶת.
גלֹא יַרְעִיב יהוה נֶפֶשׁ צַדִּיק; וְהַוַּת רְשָׁעִים יֶהְדֹּף.
דרָאשׁ עֹשֶׂה כַף רְמִיָּה; וְיַד חָרוּצִים תַּעֲשִׁיר.
האֹגֵר בַּקַּיִץ בֵּן מַשְׂכִּיל; נִרְדָּם בַּקָּצִיר בֵּן מֵבִישׁ.
ובְּרָכוֹת לְרֹאשׁ צַדִּיק; וּפִי רְשָׁעִים יְכַסֶּה חָמָס.
זזֵכֶר צַדִּיק לִבְרָכָה; וְשֵׁם רְשָׁעִים יִרְקָב.
חחֲכַם לֵב יִקַּח מִצְוֹת; וֶאֱוִיל שְׂפָתַיִם יִלָּבֵט.
טהוֹלֵךְ בַּתֹּם יֵלֶךְ בֶּטַח; וּמְעַקֵּשׁ דְּרָכָיו יִוָּדֵעַ.
יקֹרֵץ עַיִן יִתֵּן עַצָּבֶת; וֶאֱוִיל שְׂפָתַיִם יִלָּבֵט.
יאמְקוֹר חַיִּים פִּי צַדִּיק; וּפִי רְשָׁעִים יְכַסֶּה חָמָס.
יבשִׂנְאָה תְּעֹרֵר מְדָנִים; וְעַל כָּל פְּשָׁעִים תְּכַסֶּה אַהֲבָה.
יגבְּשִׂפְתֵי נָבוֹן תִּמָּצֵא חָכְמָה; וְשֵׁבֶט לְגֵו חֲסַר לֵב.
ידחֲכָמִים יִצְפְּנוּ דָעַת; וּפִי אֱוִיל מְחִתָּה קְרֹבָה.
טוהוֹן עָשִׁיר קִרְיַת עֻזּוֹ; מְחִתַּת דַּלִּים רֵישָׁם.
טזפְּעֻלַּת צַדִּיק לְחַיִּים; תְּבוּאַת רָשָׁע לְחַטָּאת.
יזאֹרַח לְחַיִּים שׁוֹמֵר מוּסָר; וְעֹזֵב תּוֹכַחַת מַתְעֶה.
יחמְכַסֶּה שִׂנְאָה שִׂפְתֵי שָׁקֶר; וּמוֹצִא דִבָּה הוּא כְסִיל.
יטבְּרֹב דְּבָרִים לֹא יֶחְדַּל פָּשַׁע; וְחוֹשֵׂךְ שְׂפָתָיו מַשְׂכִּיל.
ככֶּסֶף נִבְחָר לְשׁוֹן צַדִּיק; לֵב רְשָׁעִים כִּמְעָט.
כאשִׂפְתֵי צַדִּיק יִרְעוּ רַבִּים; וֶאֱוִילִים בַּחֲסַר לֵב יָמוּתוּ.
כבבִּרְכַּת יהוה הִיא תַעֲשִׁיר; וְלֹא יוֹסִף עֶצֶב עִמָּהּ.
כגכִּשְׂחוֹק לִכְסִיל עֲשׂוֹת זִמָּה; וְחָכְמָה לְאִישׁ תְּבוּנָה.
כדמְגוֹרַת רָשָׁע הִיא תְבוֹאֶנּוּ; וְתַאֲוַת צַדִּיקִים יִתֵּן.
כהכַּעֲבוֹר סוּפָה וְאֵין רָשָׁע; וְצַדִּיק יְסוֹד עוֹלָם.
כוכַּחֹמֶץ לַשִּׁנַּיִם וְכֶעָשָׁן לָעֵינָיִם: כֵּן הֶעָצֵל לְשֹׁלְחָיו.
כזיִרְאַת יהוה תּוֹסִיף יָמִים; וּשְׁנוֹת רְשָׁעִים תִּקְצֹרְנָה.
כחתּוֹחֶלֶת צַדִּיקִים שִׂמְחָה; וְתִקְוַת רְשָׁעִים תֹּאבֵד.
כטמָעוֹז לַתֹּם דֶּרֶךְ יהוה ; וּמְחִתָּה לְפֹעֲלֵי אָוֶן.
לצַדִּיק לְעוֹלָם בַּל יִמּוֹט; וּרְשָׁעִים לֹא יִשְׁכְּנוּ אָרֶץ.
לאפִּי צַדִּיק יָנוּב חָכְמָה; וּלְשׁוֹן תַּהְפֻּכוֹת תִּכָּרֵת.
לבשִׂפְתֵי צַדִּיק יֵדְעוּן רָצוֹן; וּפִי רְשָׁעִים תַּהְפֻּכוֹת.
