1A false scale is an abomination to יהוה ; but a perfect weight is His delight.
2When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom.
3The integrity of the upright shall guide them; but the perverseness of the faithless shall destroy them.
4Riches profit not in the day of wrath; but tzedaka delivers from death.
5The tzedaka of the sincere shall make straight his way; but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
6The tzedaka of the upright shall deliver them; but the faithless shall be trapped in their own crafty device.
7When a wicked man dies, his expectation shall perish, and the hope of strength perishes.
8A Tzadik is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked comes in his stead.
9With his mouth the impious man destroys his neighbor; but through knowledge shall the Tzadikim be delivered.
10When it goes well with the Tzadikim, the city rejoices; and when the wicked perish, there is joy.
11By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted; but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
12He that despises his neighbor lacks understanding; but a man of discernment holds his peace.
13He that goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets; but he that is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter.
14Where no wise direction is, a people falls; but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
15He that is surety for a stranger shall wail for it; but he that hates them that strike hands is secure.
16A gracious woman obtains honor; and strong men obtain riches.
17The merciful man does good to his own soul; but he that is cruel troubles his own flesh.
18The wicked earns deceitful wages; but he that sows tzedaka has a sure reward.
19Stedfast tzedaka tends to life; but he that pursues evil pursues it to his own death.
20They that are perverse in heart are an abomination to יהוה ; but such as are upright in their way are His delight.
21My hand upon it! The evil man shall not be unpunished; but the seed of the Tzadikim shall escape.
22As a ring of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a beautiful woman that turns aside from discretion.
23The desire of the Tzadikim is only good; but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
24There is one that scatters, and yet increases; and there is one that withholds more than is proper, but it tends only to want.
25The benevolent soul shall be made rich, and he that satisfies abundantly shall be satisfied also himself.
26He that withholds grain, the people shall curse him; but blessing shall be upon the head of him that sells it.
27He that diligently seeks good seeks favor; but he that searches for evil, it shall come unto him.
28He that trusts in his riches shall fall; but the Tzadikim shall flourish as foliage.
29He that troubles his own house shall inherit the wind; and the foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.
30The fruit of a Tzadik is a tree of life; and he that is wise wins souls.
31Behold, a Tzadik shall be requited in the earth; how much more the wicked and the sinner!
אמֹאזְנֵי מִרְמָה תּוֹעֲבַת יהוה ; וְאֶבֶן שְׁלֵמָה רְצוֹנוֹ.
בבָּא זָדוֹן וַיָּבֹא קָלוֹן; וְאֶת צְנוּעִים חָכְמָה.
גתֻּמַּת יְשָׁרִים תַּנְחֵם; וְסֶלֶף בֹּגְדִים ושדם (יְשָׁדֵּם).
דלֹא יוֹעִיל הוֹן בְּיוֹם עֶבְרָה; וּצְדָקָה תַּצִּיל מִמָּוֶת.
הצִדְקַת תָּמִים תְּיַשֵּׁר דַּרְכּוֹ; וּבְרִשְׁעָתוֹ יִפֹּל רָשָׁע.
וצִדְקַת יְשָׁרִים תַּצִּילֵם; וּבְהַוַּת בֹּגְדִים יִלָּכֵדוּ.
זבְּמוֹת אָדָם רָשָׁע תֹּאבַד תִּקְוָה; וְתוֹחֶלֶת אוֹנִים אָבָדָה.
חצַדִּיק מִצָּרָה נֶחֱלָץ; וַיָּבֹא רָשָׁע תַּחְתָּיו.
טבְּפֶה חָנֵף יַשְׁחִת רֵעֵהוּ; וּבְדַעַת צַדִּיקִים יֵחָלֵצוּ.
יבְּטוּב צַדִּיקִים תַּעֲלֹץ קִרְיָה; וּבַאֲבֹד רְשָׁעִים רִנָּה.
יאבְּבִרְכַּת יְשָׁרִים תָּרוּם קָרֶת; וּבְפִי רְשָׁעִים תֵּהָרֵס.
יבבָּז לְרֵעֵהוּ חֲסַר לֵב; וְאִישׁ תְּבוּנוֹת יַחֲרִישׁ.
יגהוֹלֵךְ רָכִיל מְגַלֶּה סּוֹד; וְנֶאֱמַן רוּחַ מְכַסֶּה דָבָר.
ידבְּאֵין תַּחְבֻּלוֹת יִפָּל עָם; וּתְשׁוּעָה בְּרֹב יוֹעֵץ.
טורַע יֵרוֹעַ כִּי עָרַב זָר; וְשֹׂנֵא תֹקְעִים בּוֹטֵחַ.
טזאֵשֶׁת חֵן תִּתְמֹךְ כָּבוֹד; וְעָרִיצִים יִתְמְכוּ עֹשֶׁר.
יזגֹּמֵל נַפְשׁוֹ אִישׁ חָסֶד; וְעֹכֵר שְׁאֵרוֹ אַכְזָרִי.
יחרָשָׁע עֹשֶׂה פְעֻלַּת שָׁקֶר; וְזֹרֵעַ צְדָקָה שֶׂכֶר אֱמֶת.
יטכֵּן צְדָקָה לְחַיִּים; וּמְרַדֵּף רָעָה לְמוֹתוֹ.
כתּוֹעֲבַת יהוה עִקְּשֵׁי לֵב; וּרְצוֹנוֹ תְּמִימֵי דָרֶךְ.
כאיָד לְיָד לֹא יִנָּקֶה רָּע; וְזֶרַע צַדִּיקִים נִמְלָט.
כבנֶזֶם זָהָב בְּאַף חֲזִיר אִשָּׁה יָפָה וְסָרַת טָעַם.
כגתַּאֲוַת צַדִּיקִים אַךְ טוֹב; תִּקְוַת רְשָׁעִים עֶבְרָה.
כדיֵשׁ מְפַזֵּר וְנוֹסָף עוֹד; וְחֹשֵׂךְ מִיֹּשֶׁר אַךְ לְמַחְסוֹר.
כהנֶפֶשׁ בְּרָכָה תְדֻשָּׁן; וּמַרְוֶה גַּם הוּא יוֹרֶא.
כומֹנֵעַ בָּר יִקְּבֻהוּ לְאוֹם; וּבְרָכָה לְרֹאשׁ מַשְׁבִּיר.
כזשֹׁחֵר טוֹב יְבַקֵּשׁ רָצוֹן; וְדֹרֵשׁ רָעָה תְבוֹאֶנּוּ.
כחבּוֹטֵחַ בְּעָשְׁרוֹ הוּא יִפּוֹל; וְכֶעָלֶה צַדִּיקִים יִפְרָחוּ.
כטעֹכֵר בֵּיתוֹ יִנְחַל רוּחַ; וְעֶבֶד אֱוִיל לַחֲכַם לֵב.
לפְּרִי צַדִּיק עֵץ חַיִּים; וְלֹקֵחַ נְפָשׁוֹת חָכָם.
לאהֵן צַדִּיק בָּאָרֶץ יְשֻׁלָּם; אַף כִּי רָשָׁע וְחוֹטֵא.
