1A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold.
2The rich and the poor meet together. יהוה is the maker of them all.
3A prudent man sees the evil, and hides himself; but the thoughtless pass on, and are punished.
4The reward of humility is the fear of יהוה , even riches, and honor, and life.
5Thorns and snares are in the way of the contentious; he that keeps his soul holds himself far from them.
6Train up a child according to His Derekh, and even when he is old, he will not depart from it.
7The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.
8He that sows iniquity shall reap vanity; and the rod of his wrath shall fail.
9He that has a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he gives of his bread to the poor.
10Cast out the scorner, and contention will go out; yes, strife and shame will cease.
11He that loves pureness of heart, that has grace in his lips, the king shall be his friend.
12The eyes of יהוה preserve him that has knowledge, but He overthrows the words of the faithless man.
13The sluggard says, “There is a lion without; I shall be slain in the streets.”
14The mouth of strange women is a deep pit; he that is abhorred of יהוה shall fall therein.
15Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
16One may oppress the poor, yet will their gain increase; one may give to the rich, yet will want come.
17Incline your ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply your heart unto my knowledge.
18For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you; let them be established altogether upon your lips.
19That your trust may be in יהוה , I have made them known to you this day, even to you.
20Have not I written unto you excellent things of counsels and knowledge;
21That I might make you know the certainty of the words of truth, that you might bring back words of truth to them that send you?
22Rob not the weak because he is weak, neither crush the poor in the gate;
23For יהוה will plead their cause, and despoil of life those that despoil them.
24Make no friendship with a man that is given to anger; and with a wrathful man you shall not go;
25Lest you learn his ways, and get a snare to your soul.
26Be not of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts;
27If you have not wherewith to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?
28Remove not the ancient landmark, which your fathers have set.
29Do you see a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before insignificant men.
אנִבְחָר שֵׁם מֵעֹשֶׁר רָב: מִכֶּסֶף וּמִזָּהָב חֵן טוֹב.
בעָשִׁיר וָרָשׁ נִפְגָּשׁוּ; עֹשֵׂה כֻלָּם יהוה .
געָרוּם רָאָה רָעָה ויסתר (וְנִסְתָּר); וּפְתָיִים עָבְרוּ וְנֶעֱנָשׁוּ.
דעֵקֶב עֲנָוָה יִרְאַת יהוה ; עֹשֶׁר וְכָבוֹד וְחַיִּים.
הצִנִּים פַּחִים בְּדֶרֶךְ עִקֵּשׁ; שׁוֹמֵר נַפְשׁוֹ יִרְחַק מֵהֶם.
וחֲנֹךְ לַנַּעַר עַל פִּי דַרְכּוֹ גַּם כִּי יַזְקִין לֹא יָסוּר מִמֶּנָּה.
זעָשִׁיר בְּרָשִׁים יִמְשׁוֹל; וְעֶבֶד לֹוֶה לְאִישׁ מַלְוֶה.
חזוֹרֵעַ עַוְלָה יקצור (יִקְצָר) אָוֶן; וְשֵׁבֶט עֶבְרָתוֹ יִכְלֶה.
טטוֹב עַיִן הוּא יְבֹרָךְ: כִּי נָתַן מִלַּחְמוֹ לַדָּל.
יגָּרֵשׁ לֵץ וְיֵצֵא מָדוֹן; וְיִשְׁבֹּת דִּין וְקָלוֹן.
יאאֹהֵב טהור (טְהָר) לֵב חֵן שְׂפָתָיו רֵעֵהוּ מֶלֶךְ.
יבעֵינֵי יהוה נָצְרוּ דָעַת; וַיְסַלֵּף דִּבְרֵי בֹגֵד.
יגאָמַר עָצֵל אֲרִי בַחוּץ; בְּתוֹךְ רְחֹבוֹת אֵרָצֵחַ.
ידשׁוּחָה עֲמֻקָּה פִּי זָרוֹת; זְעוּם יהוה יפול (יִפָּל) שָׁם.
טואִוֶּלֶת קְשׁוּרָה בְלֶב נָעַר; שֵׁבֶט מוּסָר יַרְחִיקֶנָּה מִמֶּנּוּ.
טזעֹשֵׁק דָּל לְהַרְבּוֹת לוֹ נֹתֵן לְעָשִׁיר אַךְ לְמַחְסוֹר.
יזהַט אָזְנְךָ וּשְׁמַע דִּבְרֵי חֲכָמִים; וְלִבְּךָ תָּשִׁית לְדַעְתִּי.
יחכִּי נָעִים כִּי תִשְׁמְרֵם בְּבִטְנֶךָ; יִכֹּנוּ יַחְדָּו עַל שְׂפָתֶיךָ.
יטלִהְיוֹת בַּיהוה מִבְטַחֶךָ הוֹדַעְתִּיךָ הַיּוֹם אַף אָתָּה.
כהֲלֹא כָתַבְתִּי לְךָ שלשום (שָׁלִשִׁים) בְּמֹעֵצוֹת וָדָעַת.
כאלְהוֹדִיעֲךָ קֹשְׁטְ אִמְרֵי אֱמֶת; לְהָשִׁיב אֲמָרִים אֱמֶת לְשֹׁלְחֶיךָ.
כבאַל תִּגְזָל דָּל כִּי דַל הוּא; וְאַל תְּדַכֵּא עָנִי בַשָּׁעַר.
כגכִּי יהוה יָרִיב רִיבָם; וְקָבַע אֶת קֹבְעֵיהֶם נָפֶשׁ.
כדאַל תִּתְרַע אֶת בַּעַל אָף; וְאֶת אִישׁ חֵמוֹת לֹא תָבוֹא.
כהפֶּן תֶּאֱלַף אֹרְחֹתָו; וְלָקַחְתָּ מוֹקֵשׁ לְנַפְשֶׁךָ.
כואַל תְּהִי בְתֹקְעֵי כָף; בַּעֹרְבִים מַשָּׁאוֹת.
כזאִם אֵין לְךָ לְשַׁלֵּם לָמָּה יִקַּח מִשְׁכָּבְךָ מִתַּחְתֶּיךָ.
כחאַל תַּסֵּג גְּבוּל עוֹלָם אֲשֶׁר עָשׂוּ אֲבוֹתֶיךָ.
כטחָזִיתָ אִישׁ מָהִיר בִּמְלַאכְתּוֹ לִפְנֵי מְלָכִים יִתְיַצָּב; בַּל יִתְיַצֵּב לִפְנֵי חֲשֻׁכִּים.
