1Wisdom has built her house, she has hewn out her seven pillars;
2She has prepared her meat, she has mingled her wine; she has also furnished her table.
3She has sent forth her maidens, she calls, upon the highest places of the city:
4‘Whoever is thoughtless, let him turn in here’; as for him that lacks understanding, she says to him,
5“Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
6Forsake all thoughtlessness, and live; and walk in the way of understanding.
7He that corrects a scorner gets shame for himself, and he that reproves a wicked man, it becomes unto him a blot.
8Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.
9Give to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser; teach a Tzadik, and he will increase in learning.
10The fear of יהוה is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the K’doshim is understanding.
11For by me your days shall be multiplied, and the years of your life shall be increased.
12If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; and if you scorn, you alone shall bear it.”
13The woman, Folly, is riotous; she is thoughtless, and knows nothing.
14And she sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
15To call to them that pass by, who go right on their ways,
16“Whoever is thoughtless, let him turn in here”; and as for him that lacks understanding, she says to him,
17“Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.”
18But he knows not that the shades are there; that her guests are in the depths of She’ol.
אחָכְמוֹת בָּנְתָה בֵיתָהּ; חָצְבָה עַמּוּדֶיהָ שִׁבְעָה.
בטָבְחָה טִבְחָהּ מָסְכָה יֵינָהּ; אַף עָרְכָה שֻׁלְחָנָהּ.
גשָׁלְחָה נַעֲרֹתֶיהָ תִקְרָא עַל גַּפֵּי מְרֹמֵי קָרֶת.
דמִי פֶתִי יָסֻר הֵנָּה; חֲסַר לֵב אָמְרָה לּוֹ.
הלְכוּ לַחֲמוּ בְלַחֲמִי; וּשְׁתוּ בְּיַיִן מָסָכְתִּי.
ועִזְבוּ פְתָאיִם וִחְיוּ; וְאִשְׁרוּ בְּדֶרֶךְ בִּינָה.
זיֹסֵר לֵץ לֹקֵחַ לוֹ קָלוֹן; וּמוֹכִיחַ לְרָשָׁע מוּמוֹ.
חאַל תּוֹכַח לֵץ פֶּן יִשְׂנָאֶךָּ; הוֹכַח לְחָכָם וְיֶאֱהָבֶךָּ.
טתֵּן לְחָכָם וְיֶחְכַּם עוֹד; הוֹדַע לְצַדִּיק וְיוֹסֶף לֶקַח.
יתְּחִלַּת חָכְמָה יִרְאַת יהוה ; וְדַעַת קְדֹשִׁים בִּינָה.
יאכִּי בִי יִרְבּוּ יָמֶיךָ; וְיוֹסִיפוּ לְּךָ שְׁנוֹת חַיִּים.
יבאִם חָכַמְתָּ חָכַמְתָּ לָּךְ; וְלַצְתָּ לְבַדְּךָ תִשָּׂא.
יגאֵשֶׁת כְּסִילוּת הֹמִיָּה; פְּתַיּוּת וּבַל יָדְעָה מָּה.
ידוְיָשְׁבָה לְפֶתַח בֵּיתָהּ עַל כִּסֵּא מְרֹמֵי קָרֶת.
טולִקְרֹא לְעֹבְרֵי דָרֶךְ; הַמְיַשְּׁרִים אֹרְחוֹתָם.
טזמִי פֶתִי יָסֻר הֵנָּה; וַחֲסַר לֵב וְאָמְרָה לּוֹ.
יזמַיִם גְּנוּבִים יִמְתָּקוּ; וְלֶחֶם סְתָרִים יִנְעָם.
יחוְלֹא יָדַע כִּי רְפָאִים שָׁם; בְּעִמְקֵי שְׁאוֹל קְרֻאֶיהָ.
