1Behold, I send My Malakh, and he shall clear the way before Me; and HaAdon, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His Heikhal, and the Malakh HaBrit, whom you delight in, behold, he comes, says יהוה Tzeva’ot. 2But who may abide the day of his coming? And who shall stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap; 3and he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; and he shall purify B’nei Levi, and purge them as gold and silver; and there shall be they that shall offer unto יהוה offerings in tzedaka. 4Then shall the offering of Yehudah and Yerushalayim be pleasant unto יהוה , as in the days of old, and as in ancient years. 5And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers; and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and do not fear Me, says יהוה Tzeva’ot. 6For I, יהוה , do not change; and you, O B’nei Ya’akov, are not consumed. 7From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from My ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto Me, and I will return unto you, says יהוה Tzeva’ot. But you say, ‘Wherein shall we return?’ 8Will a man rob Elohim? Yet you rob Me. But you say, ‘Wherein have we robbed You?’ In Ma’aser and Terumah. 9You are cursed with the curse, yet you rob Me, even this whole nation. 10Bring the whole Ma’aser into the store-house, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now herewith, says יהוה Tzeva’ot, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven, and pour out a blessing for you, that there shall be more than sufficiency. 11And I will rebuke the devourer for your good, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your land; neither shall your vine cast its fruit before the time in the field, says יהוה Tzeva’ot. 12And all nations shall be happy for you; for you shall be a delightsome land, says יהוה Tzeva’ot.”
13“Your words have been all too strong against Me, says יהוה . Yet you say, ‘Wherein have we spoken against you?’ 14You have said, ‘It is vain to serve Elohim; and what profit is it that we have kept His charge, and that we have walked mournfully because of יהוה Tzeva’ot? 15And now we call the proud happy; yes, they that work wickedness are built up; yes, they try Elohim, and are delivered.'”
16Then they that feared יהוה spoke one with another; and יהוה hearkened, and heard, and a Sefer Zikaron was written before Him, for them that feared יהוה , and that thought upon His Name. 17And they shall be Mine, says יהוה Tzeva’ot, in the day that I do make them My own treasure; and I will spare them, as a man spares his own son that serves him. 18Then shall you again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serves Elohim and him that serves Him not.”
19For, behold, the day comes, it burns as a furnace; and all the proud, and all that work wickedness, shall be stubble; and the day that comes shall set them ablaze, says יהוה Tzeva’ot, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 20But unto you that fear My Name shall Shemesh Tzedaka arise with healing in his kanaf; and you shall go forth, and gambol as calves of the stall. 21And you shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I do make, says יהוה Tzeva’ot.”
22Remember the Torah of Moshe My servant, which I commanded unto him in Khorev for all Yisra’el, even statutes and ordinances. 23Behold, I will send you Eli-Yahu HaNavi, before the coming of Yom יהוה HaGadol V’HaNorah. And24 he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers; lest I come and smite the land with utter destruction.”
אהִנְנִי שֹׁלֵחַ מַלְאָכִי וּפִנָּה דֶרֶךְ לְפָנָי; וּפִתְאֹם יָבוֹא אֶל הֵיכָלוֹ הָאָדוֹן אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם מְבַקְשִׁים וּמַלְאַךְ הַבְּרִית אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם חֲפֵצִים הִנֵּה בָא אָמַר יהוה צְבָאוֹת. בוּמִי מְכַלְכֵּל אֶת יוֹם בּוֹאוֹ וּמִי הָעֹמֵד בְּהֵרָאוֹתוֹ: כִּי הוּא כְּאֵשׁ מְצָרֵף וּכְבֹרִית מְכַבְּסִים. גוְיָשַׁב מְצָרֵף וּמְטַהֵר כֶּסֶף וְטִהַר אֶת בְּנֵי לֵוִי וְזִקַּק אֹתָם כַּזָּהָב וְכַכָּסֶף; וְהָיוּ לַיהוה מַגִּישֵׁי מִנְחָה בִּצְדָקָה. דוְעָרְבָה לַיהוה מִנְחַת יְהוּדָה וִירוּשָׁלִָם כִּימֵי עוֹלָם וּכְשָׁנִים קַדְמֹנִיֹּת. הוְקָרַבְתִּי אֲלֵיכֶם לַמִּשְׁפָּט וְהָיִיתִי עֵד מְמַהֵר בַּמְכַשְּׁפִים וּבַמְנָאֲפִים וּבַנִּשְׁבָּעִים לַשָּׁקֶר; וּבְעֹשְׁקֵי שְׂכַר שָׂכִיר אַלְמָנָה וְיָתוֹם וּמַטֵּי גֵר וְלֹא יְרֵאוּנִי אָמַר יהוה צְבָאוֹת. וכִּי אֲנִי יהוה לֹא שָׁנִיתִי; וְאַתֶּם בְּנֵי יַעֲקֹב לֹא כְלִיתֶם. זלְמִימֵי אֲבֹתֵיכֶם סַרְתֶּם מֵחֻקַּי וְלֹא שְׁמַרְתֶּם שׁוּבוּ אֵלַי וְאָשׁוּבָה אֲלֵיכֶם אָמַר יהוה צְבָאוֹת; וַאֲמַרְתֶּם בַּמֶּה נָשׁוּב. חהֲיִקְבַּע אָדָם אֱלֹהִים כִּי אַתֶּם קֹבְעִים אֹתִי וַאֲמַרְתֶּם בַּמֶּה קְבַעֲנוּךָ: הַמַּעֲשֵׂר וְהַתְּרוּמָה. טבַּמְּאֵרָה אַתֶּם נֵאָרִים וְאֹתִי אַתֶּם קֹבְעִים הַגּוֹי כֻּלּוֹ. יהָבִיאוּ אֶת כָּל הַמַּעֲשֵׂר אֶל בֵּית הָאוֹצָר וִיהִי טֶרֶף בְּבֵיתִי וּבְחָנוּנִי נָא בָּזֹאת אָמַר יהוה צְבָאוֹת: אִם לֹא אֶפְתַּח לָכֶם אֵת אֲרֻבּוֹת הַשָּׁמַיִם וַהֲרִיקֹתִי לָכֶם בְּרָכָה עַד בְּלִי דָי. יאוְגָעַרְתִּי לָכֶם בָּאֹכֵל וְלֹא יַשְׁחִת לָכֶם אֶת פְּרִי הָאֲדָמָה; וְלֹא תְשַׁכֵּל לָכֶם הַגֶּפֶן בַּשָּׂדֶה אָמַר יהוה צְבָאוֹת. יבוְאִשְּׁרוּ אֶתְכֶם כָּל הַגּוֹיִם: כִּי תִהְיוּ אַתֶּם אֶרֶץ חֵפֶץ אָמַר יהוה צְבָאוֹת.
יגחָזְקוּ עָלַי דִּבְרֵיכֶם אָמַר יהוה ; וַאֲמַרְתֶּם מַה נִּדְבַּרְנוּ עָלֶיךָ. ידאֲמַרְתֶּם שָׁוְא עֲבֹד אֱלֹהִים; וּמַה בֶּצַע כִּי שָׁמַרְנוּ מִשְׁמַרְתּוֹ וְכִי הָלַכְנוּ קְדֹרַנִּית מִפְּנֵי יהוה צְבָאוֹת. טווְעַתָּה אֲנַחְנוּ מְאַשְּׁרִים זֵדִים; גַּם נִבְנוּ עֹשֵׂי רִשְׁעָה גַּם בָּחֲנוּ אֱלֹהִים וַיִּמָּלֵטוּ.
טזאָז נִדְבְּרוּ יִרְאֵי יהוה אִישׁ אֶל רֵעֵהוּ; וַיַּקְשֵׁב יהוה וַיִּשְׁמָע וַיִּכָּתֵב סֵפֶר זִכָּרוֹן לְפָנָיו לְיִרְאֵי יהוה וּלְחֹשְׁבֵי שְׁמוֹ. יזוְהָיוּ לִי אָמַר יהוה צְבָאוֹת לַיּוֹם אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי עֹשֶׂה סְגֻלָּה; וְחָמַלְתִּי עֲלֵיהֶם כַּאֲשֶׁר יַחְמֹל אִישׁ עַל בְּנוֹ הָעֹבֵד אֹתוֹ. יחוְשַׁבְתֶּם וּרְאִיתֶם בֵּין צַדִּיק לְרָשָׁע בֵּין עֹבֵד אֱלֹהִים לַאֲשֶׁר לֹא עֲבָדוֹ.
יטכִּי הִנֵּה הַיּוֹם בָּא בֹּעֵר כַּתַּנּוּר; וְהָיוּ כָל זֵדִים וְכָל עֹשֵׂה רִשְׁעָה קַשׁ וְלִהַט אֹתָם הַיּוֹם הַבָּא אָמַר יהוה צְבָאוֹת אֲשֶׁר לֹא יַעֲזֹב לָהֶם שֹׁרֶשׁ וְעָנָף. כוְזָרְחָה לָכֶם יִרְאֵי שְׁמִי שֶׁמֶשׁ צְדָקָה וּמַרְפֵּא בִּכְנָפֶיהָ; וִיצָאתֶם וּפִשְׁתֶּם כְּעֶגְלֵי מַרְבֵּק. כאוְעַסּוֹתֶם רְשָׁעִים כִּי יִהְיוּ אֵפֶר תַּחַת כַּפּוֹת רַגְלֵיכֶם: בַּיּוֹם אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי עֹשֶׂה אָמַר יהוה צְבָאוֹת.
כבזִכְרוּ תּוֹרַת מֹשֶׁה עַבְדִּי אֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתִי אוֹתוֹ בְחֹרֵב עַל כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל חֻקִּים וּמִשְׁפָּטִים. כגהִנֵּה אָנֹכִי שֹׁלֵחַ לָכֶם אֵת אֵלִיָּה הַנָּבִיא לִפְנֵי בּוֹא יוֹם יהוה הַגָּדוֹל וְהַנּוֹרָא. כדוְהֵשִׁיב לֵב אָבוֹת עַל בָּנִים וְלֵב בָּנִים עַל אֲבוֹתָם פֶּן אָבוֹא וְהִכֵּיתִי אֶת הָאָרֶץ חֵרֶם.
