1And the whole assembly of B’nei Yisra’el assembled themselves together at Shiloh, and set up the tent of meeting there; and the land was subdued before them. 2And there remained among B’nei Yisra’el seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance. 3And Yehoshua said unto B’nei Yisra’el, “How long are you slack to go in to possess the land, which יהוה , the Elohim of your fathers, has given you? 4Appoint for you three men for each tribe; and I will send them, and they shall arise, and walk through the land, and describe it according to their inheritance; and they shall come unto me. 5And they shall divide it into seven portions: Yehudah shall abide in his border on the south, and Beit Yosef shall abide in their border on the north. 6And you shall describe the land into seven portions, and bring the description here to me; and I will cast lots for you here before יהוה our Elohim. 7For the Levi’im have no portion among you, for the Kehunah of יהוה is their inheritance; and Gad and Re’uven and half of the tribe of Menasheh have received their inheritance beyond the Yarden eastward, which Moshe the servant of יהוה gave them.”
8And the men arose, and went; and Yehoshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, “Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come back to me, and I will cast lots for you here before יהוה in Shiloh.” 9And the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven portions in a book, and they came to Yehoshua unto the camp at Shiloh. 10And Yehoshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before יהוה ; and there Yehoshua divided the land unto B’nei Yisra’el according to their divisions. 11And the lot of the tribe of B’nei Bin Yamin came up according to their families; and the border of their lot went out between B’nei Yehudah and B’nei Yosef. 12And their border on the north side was from the Yarden; and the border went up to the side of Yerekho on the north, and went up through the hill-country westward; and the goings out thereof were at the wilderness of Beit Aven. 13And the border passed along from there to Luzah, to the side of Luzah–the same is Beit El–southward; and the border went down to Atrot Adar, by the mountain that lies on the south of Beit Khoron the nether. 14And the border was drawn and turned about on the west side southward, from the mountain that lies before Beit Khoron southward; and the goings out thereof were at Kriyat Ba’al–the same is Kriyat Ye’arim–a city of B’nei Yehudah; this was the west side. 15And the south side was from the uttermost part of Kriyat Ye’arim, and the border went out westward, and went out to the fountain of the waters of Nefto’akh. 16And the border went down to the uttermost part of the mountain that lies before the Valley of Ben Khinom, which is in the vale of Refayim northward; and it went down to the Valley of Khinom, to the side of the Yevusi southward, and went down to Ein Rogel. 17And it was drawn on the north, and went out at Ein Shemesh, and went out to Gelilot, which is over against the ascent of Adumim; and it went down to the Aven Bohan Ben Re’uven. 18And it passed along to the side over against the Arabah northward, and went down unto the Arabah. 19And the border passed along to the side of Beit Khaglah northward; and the goings out of the border were at the north bay of the Salt Sea, at the south end of the Yarden; this was the south border. 20And the Yarden was to be the border of it on the east side. This was the inheritance of B’nei Bin Yamin, by the borders thereof round about, according to their families.
21Now the cities of the tribe of B’nei Bin Yamin according to their families were Yerekho, and Beit Khaglah, and Emek Ketzitz; 22and Beit Arabah, and Tzemarayim, and Beit El; 23and Avim, and Parah, and Ofrah; 24and Khefar Ha’Amonah, and Ofni, and Geva; twelve cities with their villages: 25Givon, and Ramah, and Be’erot; 26and Mitzpeh, and Kefirah, and Motzah; 27and Rekem, and Yirpil, and Taralah; 28and Tzela, Elef, and the Yevusi–the same is Yerushalayim, Givat, and Kriyat; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of B’nei Bin Yamin according to their families.
אוַיִּקָּהֲלוּ כָּל עֲדַת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל שִׁלֹה וַיַּשְׁכִּינוּ שָׁם אֶת אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד; וְהָאָרֶץ נִכְבְּשָׁה לִפְנֵיהֶם. בוַיִּוָּתְרוּ בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר לֹא חָלְקוּ אֶת נַחֲלָתָם שִׁבְעָה שְׁבָטִים. גוַיֹּאמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל: עַד אָנָה אַתֶּם מִתְרַפִּים לָבוֹא לָרֶשֶׁת אֶת הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר נָתַן לָכֶם יהוה אֱלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתֵיכֶם. דהָבוּ לָכֶם שְׁלֹשָׁה אֲנָשִׁים לַשָּׁבֶט; וְאֶשְׁלָחֵם וְיָקֻמוּ וְיִתְהַלְּכוּ בָאָרֶץ וְיִכְתְּבוּ אוֹתָהּ לְפִי נַחֲלָתָם וְיָבֹאוּ אֵלָי. הוְהִתְחַלְּקוּ אֹתָהּ לְשִׁבְעָה חֲלָקִים: יְהוּדָה יַעֲמֹד עַל גְּבוּלוֹ מִנֶּגֶב וּבֵית יוֹסֵף יַעַמְדוּ עַל גְּבוּלָם מִצָּפוֹן. ווְאַתֶּם תִּכְתְּבוּ אֶת הָאָרֶץ שִׁבְעָה חֲלָקִים וַהֲבֵאתֶם אֵלַי הֵנָּה; וְיָרִיתִי לָכֶם גּוֹרָל פֹּה לִפְנֵי יהוה אֱלֹהֵינוּ. זכִּי אֵין חֵלֶק לַלְוִיִּם בְּקִרְבְּכֶם כִּי כְהֻנַּת יהוה נַחֲלָתוֹ; וְגָד וּרְאוּבֵן וַחֲצִי שֵׁבֶט הַמְנַשֶּׁה לָקְחוּ נַחֲלָתָם מֵעֵבֶר לַיַּרְדֵּן מִזְרָחָה אֲשֶׁר נָתַן לָהֶם מֹשֶׁה עֶבֶד יהוה .
חוַיָּקֻמוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים וַיֵּלֵכוּ; וַיְצַו יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶת הַהֹלְכִים לִכְתֹּב אֶת הָאָרֶץ לֵאמֹר לְכוּ וְהִתְהַלְּכוּ בָאָרֶץ וְכִתְבוּ אוֹתָהּ וְשׁוּבוּ אֵלַי וּפֹה אַשְׁלִיךְ לָכֶם גּוֹרָל לִפְנֵי יהוה בְּשִׁלֹה. טוַיֵּלְכוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים וַיַּעַבְרוּ בָאָרֶץ וַיִּכְתְּבוּהָ לֶעָרִים לְשִׁבְעָה חֲלָקִים עַל סֵפֶר; וַיָּבֹאוּ אֶל יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶל הַמַּחֲנֶה שִׁלֹה. יוַיַּשְׁלֵךְ לָהֶם יְהוֹשֻׁעַ גּוֹרָל בְּשִׁלֹה לִפְנֵי יהוה ; וַיְחַלֶּק שָׁם יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶת הָאָרֶץ לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל כְּמַחְלְקֹתָם.
יאוַיַּעַל גּוֹרַל מַטֵּה בְנֵי בִנְיָמִן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם ; וַיֵּצֵא גְּבוּל גּוֹרָלָם בֵּין בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה וּבֵין בְּנֵי יוֹסֵף. יבוַיְהִי לָהֶם הַגְּבוּל לִפְאַת צָפוֹנָה מִן הַיַּרְדֵּן; וְעָלָה הַגְּבוּל אֶל כֶּתֶף יְרִיחוֹ מִצָּפוֹן וְעָלָה בָהָר יָמָּה והיה (וְהָיוּ) תֹּצְאֹתָיו מִדְבַּרָה בֵּית אָוֶן. יגוְעָבַר מִשָּׁם הַגְּבוּל לוּזָה אֶל כֶּתֶף לוּזָה נֶגְבָּה הִיא בֵּית אֵל; וְיָרַד הַגְּבוּל עַטְרוֹת אַדָּר עַל הָהָר אֲשֶׁר מִנֶּגֶב לְבֵית חֹרוֹן תַּחְתּוֹן. ידוְתָאַר הַגְּבוּל וְנָסַב לִפְאַת יָם נֶגְבָּה מִן הָהָר אֲשֶׁר עַל פְּנֵי בֵית חֹרוֹן נֶגְבָּה והיה (וְהָיוּ) תֹצְאֹתָיו אֶל קִרְיַת בַּעַל הִיא קִרְיַת יְעָרִים עִיר בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה; זֹאת פְּאַת יָם. טווּפְאַת נֶגְבָּה מִקְצֵה קִרְיַת יְעָרִים; וְיָצָא הַגְּבוּל יָמָּה וְיָצָא אֶל מַעְיַן מֵי נֶפְתּוֹחַ. טזוְיָרַד הַגְּבוּל אֶל קְצֵה הָהָר אֲשֶׁר עַל פְּנֵי גֵּי בֶן הִנֹּם אֲשֶׁר בְּעֵמֶק רְפָאִים צָפוֹנָה; וְיָרַד גֵּי הִנֹּם אֶל כֶּתֶף הַיְבוּסִי נֶגְבָּה וְיָרַד עֵין רֹגֵל. יזוְתָאַר מִצָּפוֹן וְיָצָא עֵין שֶׁמֶשׁ וְיָצָא אֶל גְּלִילוֹת אֲשֶׁר נֹכַח מַעֲלֵה אֲדֻמִּים; וְיָרַד אֶבֶן בֹּהַן בֶּן רְאוּבֵן. יחוְעָבַר אֶל כֶּתֶף מוּל הָעֲרָבָה צָפוֹנָה; וְיָרַד הָעֲרָבָתָה. יטוְעָבַר הַגְּבוּל אֶל כֶּתֶף בֵּית חָגְלָה צָפוֹנָה והיה (וְהָיוּ) תצאותיו (תֹּצְאוֹת) הַגְּבוּל אֶל לְשׁוֹן יָם הַמֶּלַח צָפוֹנָה אֶל קְצֵה הַיַּרְדֵּן נֶגְבָּה; זֶה גְּבוּל נֶגֶב. כוְהַיַּרְדֵּן יִגְבֹּל אֹתוֹ לִפְאַת קֵדְמָה: זֹאת נַחֲלַת בְּנֵי בִנְיָמִן לִגְבוּלֹתֶיהָ סָבִיב לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם.
כאוְהָיוּ הֶעָרִים לְמַטֵּה בְּנֵי בִנְיָמִן לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתֵיהֶם: יְרִיחוֹ וּבֵית חָגְלָה וְעֵמֶק קְצִיץ. כבוּבֵית הָעֲרָבָה וּצְמָרַיִם וּבֵית אֵל. כגוְהָעַוִּים וְהַפָּרָה וְעָפְרָה. כדוּכְפַר העמני (הָעַמֹּנָה) וְהָעָפְנִי וָגָבַע: עָרִים שְׁתֵּים עֶשְׂרֵה וְחַצְרֵיהֶן. כהגִּבְעוֹן וְהָרָמָה וּבְאֵרוֹת. כווְהַמִּצְפֶּה וְהַכְּפִירָה וְהַמֹּצָה. כזוְרֶקֶם וְיִרְפְּאֵל וְתַרְאֲלָה. כחוְצֵלַע הָאֶלֶף וְהַיְבוּסִי הִיא יְרוּשָׁלִַם גִּבְעַת קִרְיַת עָרִים אַרְבַּע עֶשְׂרֵה וְחַצְרֵיהֶן: זֹאת נַחֲלַת בְּנֵי בִנְיָמִן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם.
