1The D’var יהוה also came unto me, saying, 2“Ben Adam, you dwell in the midst of the rebellious house, that have eyes to see, and see not, that have ears to hear, and hear not; for they are a rebellious house. 3Therefore, you Ben Adam, prepare stuff for exile, and remove as though for exile by day in their sight; and you shall remove from your place to another place in their sight; it may be they will perceive, for they are a rebellious house. 4And you shall bring forth your stuff by day in their sight, as stuff for exile; and you shall go forth yourself at evening in their sight, as when men go forth into exile. 5Dig through the wall in their sight, and carry out thereby. 6In their sight shall you bear it upon your shoulder, and carry it forth in the darkness; you shall cover your face, that you see not the ground; for I have set you for a sign unto Beit Yisra’el.” 7And I did so, as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for exile, and in the evening I digged through the wall with my hand; I carried out in the darkness, and bore it upon my shoulder in their sight.
8And in the morning came the D’var יהוה unto me, saying, 9“Ben Adam, has not Beit Yisra’el, the rebellious house, said unto you, ‘What are you doing?’ 10Say unto them, ‘Thus says Adonai יהוה , concerning the prince, even this burden, in Yerushalayim, and all Beit Yisra’el among whom they are, 11say, ‘I am your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done unto them: they shall go into exile, into captivity. 12And the prince that is among them shall bear upon his shoulder, and go forth in the darkness; they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby; he shall cover his face, that he sees not the ground with his eyes. 13My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in My snare; and I will bring him to Bavel to the land of the Kasdim; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there. 14And I will disperse toward every wind all that are round about him to help him, and all his troops; and I will draw out the sword after them. 15And they shall know that I am יהוה , when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries. 16But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the nations wherever they come; and they shall know that I am יהוה ‘.'”
17Moreover the D’var יהוה came to me, saying, 18“Ben Adam, eat your bread with quaking, and drink your water with trembling and with anxiety; 19and say unto the people of the land, ‘Thus says Adonai יהוה concerning the inhabitants of Yerushalayim in the land of Yisra’el. They shall eat their bread with anxiety, and drink their water with appalment, that her land may be desolate from all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein. 20And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be desolate; and you shall know that I am יהוה ‘.”
21And the D’var יהוה came unto me, saying, 22“Ben Adam, what is that mashal that you have in the land of Yisra’el, saying, ‘The days are prolonged, and every vision fails’? 23Tell them therefore, ‘Thus says Adonai יהוה , ‘I will make this mashal to cease, and they shall no more use it as a mashal in Yisra’el’;’ but say unto them, ‘The days are at hand, and the word of every vision. 24For there shall be no more any vain vision nor smooth divination within Beit Yisra’el. 25For I am יהוה ; I will speak whatever word it is that I shall speak, and it shall be performed; it shall be no more delayed; for in your days, O rebellious house, will I speak a word, and will perform it, says Adonai יהוה ‘.”
26Again the D’var יהוה came to me, saying, 27“Ben Adam, behold, they of Beit Yisra’el say, ‘The vision that he sees is for many days to come, and he prophesies of times that are far off’. 28Therefore say unto them, ‘Thus says Adonai יהוה , ‘There shall none of My words be delayed any more, but the word which I shall speak shall be performed, says Adonai יהוה ‘.'”
אוַיְהִי דְבַר יהוה אֵלַי לֵאמֹר, בבֶּן אָדָם בְּתוֹךְ בֵּית הַמֶּרִי אַתָּה יֹשֵׁב: אֲשֶׁר עֵינַיִם לָהֶם לִרְאוֹת וְלֹא רָאוּ אָזְנַיִם לָהֶם לִשְׁמֹעַ וְלֹא שָׁמֵעוּ כִּי בֵּית מְרִי הֵם. גוְאַתָּה בֶן אָדָם עֲשֵׂה לְךָ כְּלֵי גוֹלָה וּגְלֵה יוֹמָם לְעֵינֵיהֶם; וְגָלִיתָ מִמְּקוֹמְךָ אֶל מָקוֹם אַחֵר לְעֵינֵיהֶם אוּלַי יִרְאוּ כִּי בֵּית מְרִי הֵמָּה. דוְהוֹצֵאתָ כֵלֶיךָ כִּכְלֵי גוֹלָה יוֹמָם לְעֵינֵיהֶם; וְאַתָּה תֵּצֵא בָעֶרֶב לְעֵינֵיהֶם כְּמוֹצָאֵי גּוֹלָה. הלְעֵינֵיהֶם חֲתָר לְךָ בַקִּיר; וְהוֹצֵאתָ בּוֹ. ולְעֵינֵיהֶם עַל כָּתֵף תִּשָּׂא בָּעֲלָטָה תוֹצִיא פָּנֶיךָ תְכַסֶּה וְלֹא תִרְאֶה אֶת הָאָרֶץ: כִּי מוֹפֵת נְתַתִּיךָ לְבֵית יִשְׂרָאֵל. זוָאַעַשׂ כֵּן כַּאֲשֶׁר צֻוֵּיתִי כֵּלַי הוֹצֵאתִי כִּכְלֵי גוֹלָה יוֹמָם וּבָעֶרֶב חָתַרְתִּי לִי בַקִּיר בְּיָד; בָּעֲלָטָה הוֹצֵאתִי עַל כָּתֵף נָשָׂאתִי לְעֵינֵיהֶם.
חוַיְהִי דְבַר יהוה אֵלַי בַּבֹּקֶר לֵאמֹר, טבֶּן אָדָם הֲלֹא אָמְרוּ אֵלֶיךָ בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל בֵּית הַמֶּרִי: מָה אַתָּה עֹשֶׂה. יאֱמֹר אֲלֵיהֶם כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה : הַנָּשִׂיא הַמַּשָּׂא הַזֶּה בִּירוּשָׁלִַם וְכָל בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר הֵמָּה בְתוֹכָם. יאאֱמֹר אֲנִי מוֹפֶתְכֶם: כַּאֲשֶׁר עָשִׂיתִי כֵּן יֵעָשֶׂה לָהֶם בַּגּוֹלָה בַשְּׁבִי יֵלֵכוּ. יבוְהַנָּשִׂיא אֲשֶׁר בְּתוֹכָם אֶל כָּתֵף יִשָּׂא בָּעֲלָטָה וְיֵצֵא בַּקִּיר יַחְתְּרוּ לְהוֹצִיא בוֹ; פָּנָיו יְכַסֶּה יַעַן אֲשֶׁר לֹא יִרְאֶה לַעַיִן הוּא אֶת הָאָרֶץ. יגוּפָרַשְׂתִּי אֶת רִשְׁתִּי עָלָיו וְנִתְפַּשׂ בִּמְצוּדָתִי; וְהֵבֵאתִי אֹתוֹ בָבֶלָה אֶרֶץ כַּשְׂדִּים וְאוֹתָהּ לֹא יִרְאֶה וְשָׁם יָמוּת. ידוְכֹל אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבֹתָיו עֶזְרֹה וְכָל אֲגַפָּיו אֱזָרֶה לְכָל רוּחַ; וְחֶרֶב אָרִיק אַחֲרֵיהֶם. טווְיָדְעוּ כִּי אֲנִי יהוה בַּהֲפִיצִי אוֹתָם בַּגּוֹיִם וְזֵרִיתִי אוֹתָם בָּאֲרָצוֹת. טזוְהוֹתַרְתִּי מֵהֶם אַנְשֵׁי מִסְפָּר מֵחֶרֶב מֵרָעָב וּמִדָּבֶר לְמַעַן יְסַפְּרוּ אֶת כָּל תּוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶם בַּגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר בָּאוּ שָׁם וְיָדְעוּ כִּי אֲנִי יהוה .
יזוַיְהִי דְבַר יהוה אֵלַי לֵאמֹר, יחבֶּן אָדָם לַחְמְךָ בְּרַעַשׁ תֹּאכֵל; וּמֵימֶיךָ בְּרָגְזָה וּבִדְאָגָה תִּשְׁתֶּה. יטוְאָמַרְתָּ אֶל עַם הָאָרֶץ כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה לְיוֹשְׁבֵי יְרוּשָׁלִַם אֶל אַדְמַת יִשְׂרָאֵל לַחְמָם בִּדְאָגָה יֹאכֵלוּ וּמֵימֵיהֶם בְּשִׁמָּמוֹן יִשְׁתּוּ לְמַעַן תֵּשַׁם אַרְצָהּ מִמְּלֹאָהּ מֵחֲמַס כָּל הַיֹּשְׁבִים בָּהּ. כוְהֶעָרִים הַנּוֹשָׁבוֹת תֶּחֱרַבְנָה וְהָאָרֶץ שְׁמָמָה תִהְיֶה; וִידַעְתֶּם כִּי אֲנִי יהוה .
כאוַיְהִי דְבַר יהוה אֵלַי לֵאמֹר, כבבֶּן אָדָם מָה הַמָּשָׁל הַזֶּה לָכֶם עַל אַדְמַת יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר: יַאַרְכוּ הַיָּמִים וְאָבַד כָּל חָזוֹן. כגלָכֵן אֱמֹר אֲלֵיהֶם כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה הִשְׁבַּתִּי אֶת הַמָּשָׁל הַזֶּה וְלֹא יִמְשְׁלוּ אֹתוֹ עוֹד בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל: כִּי אִם דַּבֵּר אֲלֵיהֶם קָרְבוּ הַיָּמִים וּדְבַר כָּל חָזוֹן. כדכִּי לֹא יִהְיֶה עוֹד כָּל חֲזוֹן שָׁוְא וּמִקְסַם חָלָק: בְּתוֹךְ בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל. כהכִּי אֲנִי יהוה אֲדַבֵּר אֵת אֲשֶׁר אֲדַבֵּר דָּבָר וְיֵעָשֶׂה לֹא תִמָּשֵׁךְ עוֹד: כִּי בִימֵיכֶם בֵּית הַמֶּרִי אֲדַבֵּר דָּבָר וַעֲשִׂיתִיו נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יהוה .
כווַיְהִי דְבַר יהוה אֵלַי לֵאמֹר כזבֶּן אָדָם הִנֵּה בֵית יִשְׂרָאֵל אֹמְרִים הֶחָזוֹן אֲשֶׁר הוּא חֹזֶה לְיָמִים רַבִּים; וּלְעִתִּים רְחוֹקוֹת הוּא נִבָּא. כחלָכֵן אֱמֹר אֲלֵיהֶם כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה לֹא תִמָּשֵׁךְ עוֹד כָּל דְּבָרָי אֲשֶׁר אֲדַבֵּר דָּבָר וְיֵעָשֶׂה נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יהוה .
