1“And you, Ben Adam, take a sharp sword, as a barber’s razor shall you take it unto you, and cause it to pass upon your head and upon your beard; then take balances to weigh, and divide the hair. 2A third part shall you burn in the fire in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled; and you shall take a third part, and smite it with the sword round about her; and a third part you shall scatter to the wind, and I will draw out a sword after them. 3You shall also take thereof a few by number, and bind them in your skirts. 4And of them again shall you take, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; therefrom shall a fire come forth into all Beit Yisra’el.”
5“Thus says Adonai יהוה , ‘This is Yerushalayim! I have set her in the midst of the nations, and countries are round about her. 6And she has rebelled against My ordinances in doing wickedness more than the nations, and against My statutes more than the countries that are round about her; for they have rejected My ordinances, and as for My statutes, they have not walked in them. 7Therefore, thus says Adonai יהוה : Because you have outdone the nations that are round about you, in that you have not walked in My statutes, neither have kept My ordinances, neither have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you; 8therefore thus says Adonai יהוה : Behold, I, even I, am against you, and I will execute judgments in the midst of you in the sight of the nations. 9And I will do in you that which I have not done, and whereunto I will not do any more the like, because of all your abominations’.”
10“Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of you, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments in you, and the whole remnant of you will I scatter unto all the winds. 11Therefore, as I live, says Adonai יהוה , surely, because you have defiled My Mikdash with all your detestable things, and with all your abominations, therefore will I also diminish you; neither shall My eye spare, and I also will have no pity. 12A third part of you shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of you; and a third part shall fall by the sword round about you; and a third part I will scatter unto all the winds, and will draw out a sword after them. 13Thus shall My anger spend itself, and I will satisfy My fury upon them, and I will be eased; and they shall know that I, יהוה , have spoken in My zeal, when I have spent My fury upon them. 14Moreover I will make you an amazement and a reproach among the nations that are round about you, in the sight of all that pass by. 15So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment, unto the nations that are round about you, when I shall execute judgments in you in anger and in fury, and in furious rebukes; I, יהוה , have spoken it; 16when I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, that are for destruction, which I will send to destroy you; and I will increase the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread; 17and I will send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave you; and pestilence and blood shall pass through you; and I will bring the sword upon you. I יהוה have spoken it.”
אוְאַתָּה בֶן אָדָם קַח לְךָ חֶרֶב חַדָּה תַּעַר הַגַּלָּבִים תִּקָּחֶנָּה לָּךְ וְהַעֲבַרְתָּ עַל רֹאשְׁךָ וְעַל זְקָנֶךָ; וְלָקַחְתָּ לְךָ מֹאזְנֵי מִשְׁקָל וְחִלַּקְתָּם. בשְׁלִשִׁית בָּאוּר תַּבְעִיר בְּתוֹךְ הָעִיר כִּמְלֹאת יְמֵי הַמָּצוֹר; וְלָקַחְתָּ אֶת הַשְּׁלִשִׁית תַּכֶּה בַחֶרֶב סְבִיבוֹתֶיהָ וְהַשְּׁלִשִׁית תִּזְרֶה לָרוּחַ וְחֶרֶב אָרִיק אַחֲרֵיהֶם. גוְלָקַחְתָּ מִשָּׁם מְעַט בְּמִסְפָּר; וְצַרְתָּ אוֹתָם בִּכְנָפֶיךָ. דוּמֵהֶם עוֹד תִּקָּח וְהִשְׁלַכְתָּ אוֹתָם אֶל תּוֹךְ הָאֵשׁ וְשָׂרַפְתָּ אֹתָם בָּאֵשׁ: מִמֶּנּוּ תֵצֵא אֵשׁ אֶל כָּל בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל.
הכֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה זֹאת יְרוּשָׁלִַם בְּתוֹךְ הַגּוֹיִם שַׂמְתִּיהָ; וּסְבִיבוֹתֶיהָ אֲרָצוֹת. ווַתֶּמֶר אֶת מִשְׁפָּטַי לְרִשְׁעָה מִן הַגּוֹיִם וְאֶת חֻקּוֹתַי מִן הָאֲרָצוֹת אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבוֹתֶיהָ: כִּי בְמִשְׁפָּטַי מָאָסוּ וְחֻקּוֹתַי לֹא הָלְכוּ בָהֶם. זלָכֵן כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה יַעַן הֲמָנְכֶם מִן הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶם בְּחֻקּוֹתַי לֹא הֲלַכְתֶּם וְאֶת מִשְׁפָּטַי לֹא עֲשִׂיתֶם; וּכְמִשְׁפְּטֵי הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶם לֹא עֲשִׂיתֶם. חלָכֵן כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה הִנְנִי עָלַיִךְ גַּם אָנִי; וְעָשִׂיתִי בְתוֹכֵךְ מִשְׁפָּטִים לְעֵינֵי הַגּוֹיִם. טוְעָשִׂיתִי בָךְ אֵת אֲשֶׁר לֹא עָשִׂיתִי וְאֵת אֲשֶׁר לֹא אֶעֱשֶׂה כָמֹהוּ עוֹד יַעַן כָּל תּוֹעֲבֹתָיִךְ.
ילָכֵן אָבוֹת יֹאכְלוּ בָנִים בְּתוֹכֵךְ וּבָנִים יֹאכְלוּ אֲבוֹתָם; וְעָשִׂיתִי בָךְ שְׁפָטִים וְזֵרִיתִי אֶת כָּל שְׁאֵרִיתֵךְ לְכָל רוּחַ. יאלָכֵן חַי אָנִי נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יהוה אִם לֹא יַעַן אֶת מִקְדָּשִׁי טִמֵּאת בְּכָל שִׁקּוּצַיִךְ וּבְכָל תּוֹעֲבֹתָיִךְ; וְגַם אֲנִי אֶגְרַע וְלֹא תָחוֹס עֵינִי וְגַם אֲנִי לֹא אֶחְמוֹל. יבשְׁלִשִׁתֵיךְ בַּדֶּבֶר יָמוּתוּ וּבָרָעָב יִכְלוּ בְתוֹכֵךְ וְהַשְּׁלִשִׁית בַּחֶרֶב יִפְּלוּ סְבִיבוֹתָיִךְ; וְהַשְּׁלִישִׁית לְכָל רוּחַ אֱזָרֶה וְחֶרֶב אָרִיק אַחֲרֵיהֶם. יגוְכָלָה אַפִּי וַהֲנִחוֹתִי חֲמָתִי בָּם וְהִנֶּחָמְתִּי; וְיָדְעוּ כִּי אֲנִי יהוה דִּבַּרְתִּי בְּקִנְאָתִי בְּכַלּוֹתִי חֲמָתִי בָּם. ידוְאֶתְּנֵךְ לְחָרְבָּה וּלְחֶרְפָּה בַּגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבוֹתָיִךְ לְעֵינֵי כָּל עוֹבֵר. טווְהָיְתָה חֶרְפָּה וּגְדוּפָה מוּסָר וּמְשַׁמָּה לַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבוֹתָיִךְ: בַּעֲשׂוֹתִי בָךְ שְׁפָטִים בְּאַף וּבְחֵמָה וּבְתֹכְחוֹת חֵמָה אֲנִי יהוה דִּבַּרְתִּי. טזבְּשַׁלְּחִי אֶת חִצֵּי הָרָעָב הָרָעִים בָּהֶם אֲשֶׁר הָיוּ לְמַשְׁחִית אֲשֶׁר אֲשַׁלַּח אוֹתָם לְשַׁחֶתְכֶם וְרָעָב אֹסֵף עֲלֵיכֶם וְשָׁבַרְתִּי לָכֶם מַטֵּה לָחֶם. יזוְשִׁלַּחְתִּי עֲלֵיכֶם רָעָב וְחַיָּה רָעָה וְשִׁכְּלֻךְ וְדֶבֶר וָדָם יַעֲבָר בָּךְ; וְחֶרֶב אָבִיא עָלַיִךְ אֲנִי יהוה דִּבַּרְתִּי.
