Yesha-Yahu 49 – ישעיהו מט

Shoftim (2) 1“Listen, O isles, unto me, and hearken, you peoples, from afar:  יהוה  has called me from the womb, from the bowels of my mother has He made mention of my name; 2and He has made my mouth like a sharp sword, in the shadow of His hand has He hidden me; and He has made me a polished shaft, in His quiver has He concealed me; 3and He said unto me, ‘You are My servant, Yisra’el, in whom I will be glorified.’ 4But I said, ‘I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nought and vanity; yet surely my right is with  יהוה , and my recompense with my Elohim’.  5And now says  יהוה  that formed me from the womb to be His servant, to bring Ya’akov back to Him, and that Yisra’el be gathered unto Him, for I am honorable in the eyes of  יהוה , and my Elohim is become my strength, 6yes, He says, ‘It is too light a thing that you should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Ya’akov, and to restore the offspring of Yisra’el; I will also give you for a light of the nations, that My Yeshua may be unto the ends of the earth’. end Shoftim (2) 7Thus says  יהוה , the Redeemer of Yisra’el, His Kadosh One, to him who is despised of men, to him who is abhorred of nations, to a servant of rulers, ‘Kings shall see and arise, princes, and they shall prostrate themselves; because of  יהוה  that is faithful, even the Kadosh One of Yisra’el, who has chosen you’.  8Thus says  יהוה , ‘In an acceptable time have I answered you, and in a day of Yeshua[h] have I helped you; and I will preserve you, and give you to the Brit Am, to raise up the land, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; 9saying to the prisoners, ‘Go forth’; to them that are in darkness, ‘Show yourselves’; they shall feed in the ways, and in all high hills shall be their pasture; 10they shall not hunger nor thirst, neither shall the heat nor sun smite them; for He that has compassion on them will lead them, even by the springs of water will He guide them. 11And I will make all My mountains a way, and My highways shall be raised on high. 12Behold, these shall come from afar; and, lo, these from the north and from the west, and these from the land of Sinim. 13Sing, O heavens, and be joyful, O earth, and break forth into singing, O mountains; for  יהוה  has comforted His people, and will have mercy upon His afflicted.  Ekev (1) 14But Tzion said, ‘ יהוה  has forsaken me, and Adonai has forgotten me’. 15Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have mercy on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you. 16Behold, I have engraved you upon the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me. 17Your children make haste; your destroyers and they that made you waste shall go forth from you. 18Lift up your eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to you. ‘As I live’, says  יהוה , ‘you shall surely clothe yourself with them all as with an ornament, and gird yourself with them, like a bride’. 19For your waste and your desolate places and your land that has been destroyed; surely now shall you be too strait for the inhabitants, and they that swallowed you up shall be far away. 20The children of your bereavement shall yet say in your ears, ‘The place is too narrow for me; give place to me that I may dwell’. 21Then shall you say in your heart, ‘Who has begotten me these, seeing I have been bereaved of my children, and am solitary, an exile, and wandering to and fro? And who has brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where were they?’ “

22“Thus says Adonai  יהוה , ‘Behold, I will lift up My hand to the nations, and set up My ensign to the peoples, and they shall bring your sons in their bosom, and your daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.  23And kings shall be your foster-fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers; they shall bow down to you with their face to the earth, and lick the dust of your feet; and you shall know that I am  יהוה , for they shall not be ashamed that wait for Me.  24Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the captives of the victorious be delivered?’  25But, thus says  יהוה , ‘Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; and I will contend with him that contends with you, and I will save your children. 26And I will feed them that oppress you with their own flesh; and they shall be drunk with their own blood, as with sweet wine; and all flesh shall know that I,  יהוה , am your Moshi’ah, and your Redeemer, the Avir Ya’akov.”
