Efesim 4 – איגרת שאול אל האפסים ד

t.o.c.

1I, therefore, a prisoner of Adoneinu, beseech you to live as is worthy of the rank to which you are called, 2with all humility and gentleness, and with patience, forbearing one another in love, 3endeavoring to preserve the harmony of HaRu’akh in the bond of shalom, 4that you may become one Body and one Ru’akh, even as you are called in one hope of your calling. 5There is one  יהוה , one Emunah, and one immersion; 6one Elohim and Father for all, who is above all, and through all, and in all of us.  7But to every one of us is given compassion according to the measure of the gift of Mashi’akh.  8Therefore it is said, “He ascended on high, and recaptured captives, and gave gifts to men.”  9Now that He ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the depths of the heart of the earth?  10So He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all heavens, that He might fulfill all things.  11And He has assigned some as shlikhim [sent ones], and some as nevi’im [prophets], and some as m’vasrim [declarers], and some as ro’im [shepherds], and some as morim [teachers], 12for the perfecting of the k’doshim, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Mashi’akh, 13until we all become one in absolute trust, and in the knowledge of Ben HaElohim, and become a perfect man according to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Mashi’akh, 14that we henceforth be not as children, easily stirred and carried away by every wind of false doctrines of men, who through their craftiness are artful in deceiving the people; 15but that we be sincere in our love, so that in everything we may progress through Mashi’akh, who is the head.  16It is through Him that the whole Body is closely and firmly united at all joints, according to the measure of the gift which is given to every member, for the guidance and control of the Body, in order to complete the edifying of the Body in love.

17This I say, therefore, and testify in  יהוה , that you henceforth live not as other goyim, who live in the vanity of their mind, 18and whose understanding is dark, and who are alienated from the life of Elohim, because they have no knowledge, and because of the blindness of their hearts; 19and who have given up their hope, and have surrendered themselves to wantonness and to the practice of all uncleanness in their lusts.  20But that is not what you have been taught about Mashi’akh; 21if you have truly heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is found in Yeshua; 22lay aside all your former practices, that is to say, the old man, which is degenerated with deceitful lusts, 23and be renewed in the Ru’akh that you know, 24and put on the new man, who is created by Elohim in tzedaka and true kedushah.  25Therefore you must put away from you lying, and speak the truth, every man with his neighbor; for we are members one of another.  26Be angry, but sin not; and let not the sun go down upon your anger: 27and do not give the Accuser a chance.  28From henceforth let him that stole steal no more; but rather let him labor with his hands and do good deeds, that he may have something to give to him who is in need.  29Let no evil word proceed from your mouth, but words that are good and useful for edification, that they will impart grace to those who hear them.  30And do not grieve The Ru’akh HaKodesh of Elohim, whereby you are sealed for Yom HaGe’ulah.  31Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamoring, and reviling be put away from you, together with all malice; 32and be kind one to another, and tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as Elohim has forgiven us through Mashi’akh.
