Ma’asei HaShlikhim 3 – מעשי השליחים ג

t.o.c.

1It came to pass as Shimon Kefa and Yokhanan were going up together to the Heikhal at the time of prayer, at the ninth hour, 2behold, a certain man, lame from his mother’s womb, was carried by men who were accustomed to bring him and lay him at the gate of the Heikhal which is called ‘HaYafeh’, so that he might ask alms from those who entered into the Heikhal.  3And when he saw Shimon and Yokhanan entering the Heikhal, he begged of them to give him alms.  4And Shimon and Yokhanan looked at him and said, “Look at us.”  5And he looked at them, expecting to receive something from them.  6Then Shimon said to him, “Gold and silver have I none; but what I have I give to you. In the Name of Yeshua HaMashi’akh HaNatzri, rise up and walk.”  7And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up; and in that very hour his legs and his feet received strength.  8And he, leaping up, stood and walked, and entered with them into the Heikhal, walking and leaping and praising Elohim.  9And all the people saw him walking and praising Elohim; 10and they recognized that he was the beggar who had sat daily and asked alms at the gate which is called HaYafeh; and they were filled with amazement and wonder at what had happened.  11And as he was assisted by Shimon and Yokhanan, all the people ran in astonishment towards them to the porch that is called Shlomo.

12And when Shimon saw it, he said to them, “Men of Yisra’el, why are you wondering at this man or why are you looking at us as though by our own power or authority we had made this man to walk?  13The Elohim of Avraham and of Yitz’khak and of Ya’akov, the Elohim of our Fathers, has glorified His Son Yeshua, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilatos when he was determined to let him go.  14But you denied the Kadosh One and HaTzadik, and asked a murderer to be given to you, 15and killed the Sar HaKhayim, whom Elohim has raised from the dead; all of us are His witnesses.  16Trust in His Name has healed this man whom you see and know, and made him strong; it is trust in Him which has granted this healing before you all.  17But now, my brethren, I know that you did this through ignorance just as your leaders did it.   18But those things which Elohim before had declared by the mouth of all the Nevi’im that His Mashi’akh should suffer, He has so fulfilled.  19Repent, therefore, and be turned, that your sins may be blotted out when the times of tranquility shall come to you from before the presence of  יהוה , and20 He shall send to you One who has been prepared for you, even Yeshua HaMashi’akh, 21whom heaven must receive, until all the things which Elohim has spoken by the mouth of His Nevi’im K’doshim since the world began should be fulfilled.  22For Moshe said, ‘ יהוה  shall raise up a Navi like me for you from among your brethren; listen to Him in all that He shall say to you.  23And it shall come to pass that every person who will not listen to that Navi shall be lost from his people.’  24Yes, and all the Nevi’im from Shmu’el and those that follow after, as many as have spoken and declared, have likewise foretold of these days.  25You are the children of the Nevi’im and of the Brit which Elohim made with our fathers, saying to Avraham, ‘By your seed shall all the tribes of the earth be blessed.’  26Now it was for you, first, that Elohim appointed and sent His Son to bless you, if you turn and repent from your evils.”
