1When Yeshua had finished all these sayings, He said to His Talmidim, 2“You know that after two days will be the Pesakh, and Ben HaAdam will be betrayed to be executed. 3Then the chief Kohanim and the Sofrim and the elders of the people assembled in the court yard of The Kohen HaGadol, who is called Kayafah. 4And they took counsel concerning Yeshua, to arrest Him by a snare and kill Him. 5And they said, “Not on the Khag, so as not to cause a riot among the people.”
6And when Yeshua was at Beit Anya, in the house of Shimon the leper, 7a woman came up to Him with an alabaster vessel of precious perfume, and she poured it upon the head of Yeshua while He was reclining. 8When His Talmidim saw it, they were displeased, and said, “Why this waste? 9For it could have been sold for a great amount and given to the poor.” 10But Yeshua understood it and said to them, “Why are you troubling the woman? She has done a good work to me. 11For you always have the poor with you, but you will not have me always. 12But this one who poured the perfume on my body did it as for my burial. 13And truly I say to you, wherever this my B’sorah is declared throughout the world, what she has done will also be told as a memorial to her.”
14Then one of the twelve, called Yehudah Sekharyotah, went to the chief Kohanim; 15and he said to them, “What are you willing to give me, and I will deliver Him to you?” And they promised him thirty pieces of silver. 16And from that time he sought an opportunity to betray Him.
17At the beginning of Matzot, the Talmidim came up to Yeshua and said to Him, “Where do you wish that we may prepare the Pesakh for you to eat?” 18And He said to them, “Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, ‘Adoneinu says, ‘My time has come, I will observe the Pesakh with my Talmidim at your house.”” 19And His Talmidim did as Yeshua had commanded them; and they prepared the Pesakh. 20And when it was evening, He was reclining with his twelve Talmidim. 21And while they were eating He said, “Truly I say to you that one of you will betray me.” 22And they felt very sad, and began to say to Him one by one, “Is it I, My Adon?” 23And He answered and said, “He who dips his hand with me in the dish, he will betray me. 24Ben HaAdam is going through, just as it is written concerning Him; but woe to the man by whose hand Ben HaAdam is betrayed! It would have been far better for that man never to have been born.” 25Then Yehudah the traitor answered and said, “Rabbi, perhaps it is I?” Yeshua said to him, “You have spoken it.”
26While they were eating, Yeshua took bread and blessed it, and He broke it, and gave it to His Talmidim, and He said, “Take, eat; this is my Body.” 27Then He took the cup and gave thanks, and gave it to them and said, “Take, drink of it, all of you. 28This is my Blood of the Brit Khadashah which is shed for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29But I say to you, from now on I shall not drink from this fruit of the vine until the day when I drink it anew with you in Malkhut HaElohim.” 30And they sang the Hallel, and went out to Har HaZetim.
31Then Yeshua said to them, “All of you will deny me this night; for it is written, ‘I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of his flock will be scattered.’ 32But after I am risen, I will be in the Galil before you.” 33Kefa answered and said to Him, “Even if every man should deny you, I will never deny you.” 34Yeshua said to him, “Truly I say to you that in this very night, before the cock crows, you will deny me three times.” 35Kefa said to Him, “Even if I must die with you, I will never deny you.” All the Talmidim said likewise.
36Then Yeshua came with them to a place which is called Gat Shemen, and He said to His Talmidim, “Sit down here while I go to pray.” 37And He took Kefa and the two sons of Zavdai, and He began to be sorrowful and oppressed. 38He said to them, “My soul is sorrowful even to death; wait for me here, and watch with me.” 39And He went a little further and fell on His face and prayed, saying, O Avi, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; but let it be not as I will, but as You will.” 40Then He came to His Talmidim and found them sleeping, and he said to Kefa, “So, you were not able to watch with me even for one hour? 41Awake and pray, that you may not enter into temptation; HaRu’akh indeed is ready, but the body is weak.” 42He went away again the second time and prayed and said, “O Avi, if this cup cannot pass, and if I have to drink it, let it be according to your will.” 43He came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. 44And He left them and went away again and prayed the third time, and He said the same word. 45Then He came to His Talmidim and said to them, “Sleep from now on and get your rest; behold, the hour has come, and Ben HaAdam will be delivered into the hands of sinners. 46Arise, let us go; behold, he who is to deliver me has arrived.”
47While He was speaking, behold, Yehudah the traitor, one of the twelve, came, and with him a large crowd with swords and staves, from the chief Kohanim and the elders of the people. 48Now Yehudah the traitor had given them a sign, saying, “He whom I kiss, it is He, arrest Him.” 49And immediately he came up to Yeshua and said, “Shalom, Rabbi,” and he kissed Him. 50Yeshua said to him, “Is it for this that you have come, my friend?” Then they came near and laid hands on Yeshua, and arrested Him. 51And behold, one of those who were with Yeshua stretched out his hand and drew a sword, and struck it at the servant of The Kohen HaGadol, and cut off his ear. 52Then Yeshua said to him, “Return the sword to its place; for all who take up swords will die by swords. 53Or do you think that I cannot ask of Avi, and He will now raise up for me more than twelve legions of Malakhim? 54How then could the scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?” 55At that very hour Yeshua said to the people, “Have you come out with swords and staves to arrest me like a bandit? I sat with you every day, teaching in the Heikhal, and you did not arrest me. 56But this has happened so that the scriptures of the Nevi’im might be fulfilled.” Then all the Talmidim left Him, and fled.
57And those who had arrested Yeshua took him to Kayafah, The Kohen HaGadol, where the Sofrim and the elders had assembled. 58But Shimon Kefa followed Him afar off, up to the courtyard of The Kohen HaGadol, and he went inside and sat with the soldiers, to see the end of it. 59Now the chief Kohanim and the elders and the whole council were seeking witnesses against Yeshua, so that they might put Him to death. 60But they could not find any; then there came a great many false witnesses; but at the end two came forward, 61and said, “This man said, ‘I can tear down the Heikhal of Elohim, and build it in three days.’” 62And The Kohen HaGadol stood up and said to Him, “You are not answering anything. What is it that these men testify against you?” 63But Yeshua was silent. Then The Kohen HaGadol answered and said to Him, “I adjure you by the living Elohim to tell us if you are the Mashi’akh, Ben HaElohim?” 64Yeshua said to him, “You have said it. But I say to you that from henceforth you will see Ben HaAdam sitting at the right hand of the power, and coming upon the clouds of the heavens.” 65The Kohen HaGadol then rent his clothes and said, “Behold, He is blaspheming; why therefore do we need witnesses? Behold, you have now heard his blasphemy. 66What else do you want?” They answered and said, “He deserves death.” 67Then they spat in His face, and beat Him, and others struck Him, 68saying, “O Mashi’akh, prophesy to us; who smote you?”
69Now Kefa sat outside in the courtyard; and a maidservant came up to him, and said to him, “You also were with Yeshua HaNatzri.” 70But he denied it before all of them, and said, “I do not understand what you are saying.” 71And as he was going to the porch, another one saw him, and she said to them, “This man was also there with Yeshua HaNatzri.” 72Again he denied it with oaths, “I do not know the man.” 73After a while, those who were standing came up and said to Kefa, “Truly you also are one of them, for even your speech proves it.” 74Then he began to curse and to swear, “I do not know the man.” At that very hour the cock crowed. 75And Kefa remembered the word of Yeshua, which He had said to him, “Before the cock crows, you will deny me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.
