Yokhanan 14 – יוחנן יד

t.o.c.

1“Let  not  your  heart  be  troubled;  trust in Elohim, and trust in me also.  2In the house of Avi are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to me,  so  that where I am you may be also.  4You know where I am going, and you know the way.”  5T’oma said to Him, “Adoneinu, we do not know where you are going; and how can we know the way?”  6Yeshua said to him, “I am HaDerekh, and HaEmet, and HaKhayim; no man comes to Avi except by me.  7If you had known me, you would have known Avi also; from henceforth you know Him, and you have seen Him.”  8Filipos said to Him, “Adoneinu, show us HaAv, and that is enough for us.”  9Yeshua said to him, “All this time I have been with you, and yet you do not know me, Filipos? He who sees me has seen HaAv; and how do you say, ‘Show us HaAv?’  10Do you not believe that I am in Avi and Avi is in me? The words that I speak, I do not speak of myself; but Avi who abides in me does these works.  11Trust that I am in Avi and Avi is in me; and if not, trust because of the works.”

12“Amein, Amein, I say to you, he who trusts in me shall do the works which I do; and even greater than these things he shall do, because I am going to Avi.  13And whatever you ask in my Name, I will do it for you, so that HaAv may be glorified through His Son.  14If you ask me in my own Name, I will do it.”

15“If you love me, keep my mitzvot.  16And I will ask of Avi, and He will give you another comforter, to be with you forever, 17even Ru’akh HaEmet, which the world cannot receive, because it has not seen it and does not know it; but you know it because it abides with you and is in you.  18I will not leave you bereaved, for I will come to you after a little while.  19And the world will not see me, but you will see me; because I live, you shall live also.  20In that day you will know that I am in Avi, and you are in me, and I am in you.  21He who has my mitzvot with him and obeys them is the one who loves me; he who loves me will be loved by Avi, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.  22Yehudah (not of Sekharyotah) said to Him, “My Adon, why is it that you will reveal yourself to us and not to the world?”  23Yeshua answered, saying to him, “He who loves me keeps My D’var; and Avi will love him, and we will come to him and make a place of abode with him.  24But he who does not love me does not keep My D’var; and this Davar which you hear is not my own but the Father’s who sent me.”

25“I have spoken these things to you while I am with you.  26But the Comforter, The Ru’akh HaKodesh, which Avi will send in my Name, will teach you everything, and remind you of everything which I tell you.  27Shalom I leave with you; my own shalom I give you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, and do not be afraid.”

28“You heard that I told you I am going away, and I will come to you. If you loved me, you would rejoice because I am going to Avi; for Avi is greater than I.  29And now behold, I have told you before it happens, so that when it does happen, you may believe.  30Hereafter I will not talk much with you; for the prince of this world comes; and yet he has nothing in me.  31But that the world may know that I love Avi, and as Avi has commanded me, so I do. Arise, let us go away from here.”
