Yokhanan 2 – יוחנן ב

t.o.c.

1On the third day there was a wedding in Kana, a city of the Galil; and the mother of Yeshua was there.  2And Yeshua and His Talmidim were also invited to the wedding.  3And when the wine ran low, His mother said to Yeshua, “They have no wine.”  4Yeshua said to her, “What is it to me and to you, woman? My turn has not yet come.”  5His mother said to the servers, “Whatever He tells you, do it.”  6And there were six stone jars placed there for the purification of the Y’hudim, which could hold two or three measures.  7Yeshua said to them, “Fill the jars with water;” and they filled them up to the brim.  8Then He said to them, “Draw out now and bring it to the chief steward.” And they brought it.  9And when the chief steward tasted the water that had become wine, he did not know from where it had come; but the servers knew, who had drawn the water. Then the chief steward called the bridegroom 10and said to him, “Every man at the first brings the best wine; and when they have drunk, then that which is weak; but you have kept the best wine until now.”  11This is the first miracle which Yeshua performed in Kana of the Galil, and thus He showed His glory; and His Talmidim trusted in Him.

12After this He went down to K’far Nakhum, He, and His mother and His brothers, and His Talmidim; and they remained there a few days.  13And the Pesakh of the Yehudim was nearing, so Yeshua went up to Yerushalayim.  14And He found in the Heikhal those who were buying oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting.  15And He made a whip of cords, and drove them all out of the Heikhal, even the sheep and the oxen and the money changers; and He threw out their exchange money and turned over their trays; 16And to those who sold doves He said, “Take these away from here; do not make Beit Avi a house of trading.”  17And His Talmidim remembered that it is written, “Zeal for Your house has devoured me.”  18The Y’hudim answered, saying to Him, “What sign do you show us, that you are doing these things?”  19Yeshua answered, saying to them, “Tear down this Heikhal, and in three days I will raise it up.”  20The Y’hudim said to Him, “It took forty-six years to build this Heikhal, and will you raise it up in three days?”  21But He spoke concerning the Heikhal of His body.   22When He rose from the dead,  His Talmidim remembered that He had said this; and they believed the scriptures and HaDavar which Yeshua had said.

23Now when Yeshua was in Yerushalayim at the Pesakh, during the Khag, a great many believed in Him, because they saw the miracles which He did.  24But Yeshua did not entrust Himself to them, because He understood every man.  25And He needed no man to testify to Him concerning any man; for He knew well what was in man.
