1The beginning of HaB’sorah of Yeshua HaMashi’akh, Ben HaElohim. 2As it is written in Yesha-Yahu HaNavi, “Behold I send my messenger before you, that he may prepare your way, 3the voice that cries in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of יהוה , and straighten His highways.’” 4Yokhanan was in the wilderness, immersing and declaring the immersion of Teshuvah for the forgiveness of sins, 5and the whole province of Y’hudah went out to him, and all the people of Yerushalayim; and he immersed them in the river Yarden, when they confessed their sins.
6 Yokhanan was dressed in camel’s hair, with a girdle of leather fastened around his loins; and his food was locusts and wild honey. 7And he declared saying, “Behold, there is coming after me one who is mightier than myself, even the straps of whose sandals I am not good enough to bend down and loosen. 8I have immersed you with water; but He will immerse you with The Ru’akh HaKodesh.”
9And it came to pass in those days, Yeshua came from Natzrat of the Galil, and was immersed in the Yarden by Yokhanan. 10And immediately, as He went up out of the water, He saw the sky open, and HaRu’akh as a dove came down upon Him. 11And a voice came from Heaven, “You are my Ben HaAhuv, I am pleased with you.” 12And immediately HaRu’akh drove Him out into the wilderness. 13And He was there in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by HaSatan; and He was with the wild beasts; and the Malakhim ministered to Him.
14But after Yokhanan was delivered up, Yeshua came to the Galil, declaring B’sorat Malkhut HaElohim, 15and saying, “The time has come to an end, and Malkhut HaElohim is at hand; repent, and trust in the B’sorah.” 16While He walked along the sea of the Galil, He saw Shimon and Andrai his brother throwing their nets into the sea; for they were fishermen. 17And Yeshua said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 18And straightway they left their nets, and went after Him. 19And when He went a little further, he saw Ya’akov Ben Zavdai and his brother Yokhanan; they also were in a boat mending their nets. 20And He called them; and immediately they left their father Zavdai with the hired men and went after Him. 21When they entered into K’far Nakhum, straightway He taught on Shabbat in their Beit K’nessets. 22And they were amazed at His teaching; for He taught them as one with authority, and not like their Sofrim.
23And there was in their Beit K’nesset a man who had in him an unclean spirit; and he cried out, 24and said, “Yeshua HaNatzri, what have we in common? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, ‘Kadosh HaElohim.’” 25And Yeshua rebuked him and said, “Be silent, and come out of him.” 26And the unclean spirit threw him down, and cried out in a loud voice, and left him. 27And they were all astonished and kept asking one another saying, “What does this mean, and what is this new teaching, that with such a power He commands even unclean spirits, and they obey Him?” 28And His fame immediately spread throughout the country of the Galil.
29Then they went out of the Beit K’nesset, and came to the house of Shimon and Andrai, together with Ya’akov and Yokhanan. 30And Shimon’s mother-in-law was laid up with fever; and they spoke to Him about her. 31And He went and held her hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered to them. 32In the evening towards sunset, they brought to Him all who were seriously sick, and the possessed. 33And the whole city was gathered at the door. 34And He healed many who were seriously sick with diverse diseases, and He restored many who were possessed; and He did not allow the possessed to speak because they knew Him. 35And in the morning He rose up very early and went away to a lonely place, and there prayed. 36And Shimon and those who were with him were looking for Him. 37And when they found Him, they said to Him, “Everyone is asking where you are.” 38He said to them, “Let us walk to the neighboring towns and cities, so that I may declare there also; because I came for this.” 39And He declared in all their Beit K’nessets throughout the Galil, and cast out demons. 40And there came to Him a leper who fell down at His feet, and begged Him, saying, “If you will, you can make me clean.” 41And Yeshua had mercy on him, and stretched out his hand and touched him, and said, “I am willing; be clean.” 42And in that hour his leprosy disappeared from him, and he became clean. 43And Yeshua rebuked him and put him out, 44and said to him, “Look here, why are you telling it to the people? But go your way, show yourself to the Kohanim, and offer an offering for the sake of your cleansing, according to what Moshe commanded, as a testimony to them.” 45But when He went out, he began to publish it still more, and to spread the word, so that Yeshua was no longer able to enter the city openly, but He remained outside in a lonely place; and yet they came to Him from every place.
