Yokhanan Alef 5 – יוחנן א פרק ה

t.o.c.

1Whoever believes that Yeshua is the Mashi’akh is born of Elohim; and everyone who loves Him who fathered, loves him also who is begotten of Him.  2And by this we know that we love the children of Elohim, when we love Elohim and keep His mitzvot.  3For this is the love of Elohim, that we keep His mitzvot; and His mitzvot are not difficult.  4For whoever is born of Elohim triumphs over the world; and this is the victory which conquers the world, even our Emunah.

5Who is he who triumphs over the world, but he who believes that Yeshua is Ben HaElohim?  6This is he who came by water and blood, even Yeshua HaMashi’akh, not by water only, but by water and blood.  And HaRu’akh testifies, because HaRu’akh is truth.  7[verse 7 and 8a do not exist in eastern Peshitta Aramaic texts] 8HaRu’akh and the water and the blood, yes, these three are unified.  9If we accept the testimony of men, how much greater is the testimony of Elohim; for this is the testimony of Elohim which He has testified of His Son.

10He who believes in Ben HaElohim has this testimony in himself; he who does not believe Elohim, has made Him a liar; because he does not believe the testimony that Elohim gave of His Son.  11And this is the testimony, that Elohim has given to us Khayei Olam, and this life is in His Son.  12He who believes in HaBen has life; he who does not believe in Ben HaElohim does not have life.

13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of Ben HaElohim, that you may know that you have Khayei Olam.  14And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us; 15for if we beseech Him to hear us concerning the things that we ask of Him, we are assured that we have already received from Him those things that we desire.  16If any man sees his brother commit a sin which is not worthy of death, let him ask, and life will be granted him, if he has not committed a sin worthy of death.  There is a sin worthy of death; I do not say that anyone shall pray for it.  17All unrighteousness is sin; but there is a sin which is not worthy of death.

18We know that everyone who is born of Elohim does not sin; for he who is born of Elohim guards himself, and the evil one does not come near him.  19And we know that we are of Elohim, and the whole world lies in wickedness.  20And we know that Ben HaElohim has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, even in His Son, Yeshua HaMashi’akh. This is the true Elohim, and Khayei Olam.  21My children, keep yourselves from idolatry.
