18The birth of Yeshua HaMashi’akh was in this manner: While Miryam His mother was acquired for a price for Yosef, before they came together, she was found with child of The Ru’akh HaKodesh. 19But Yosef her husband was a pious man, and did not wish to make it public; so he was thinking of divorcing her secretly. 20While he was considering this, a Malakh of יהוה appeared to him in a dream, and said to him, “O Yosef, Ben David, do not be afraid to take your wife Miryam, because he that is to be born of her is of The Ru’akh HaKodesh. 21She will give birth to a son, and you will call His Name יֵשׁוּעַ [Yeshua]; for He shall save His people from their sins.” 22All this happened so that what was spoken from יהוה by the Navi might be fulfilled, 23“Behold, a virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they shall call His Name Immanu El,” which is interpreted, ‘Our Elohim is with us.’ 24When Yosef rose up from his sleep, he did just as the messenger of יהוה commanded him, and he took his wife. 25And he did not know her until she gave birth to her first-born son; and she called His Name Yeshua.

יחוְזֶה דְבַר הֻלֶּדֶת יֵשׁוּעַ הַמָּשִׁיחַ מִרְיָם אִמּוֹ הָיְתָה מְאֹרָשָׂה לְיוֹסֵף וּבְטֶרֶם יָבֹא אֵלֶיהָ נִמְצֵאת הָרָה מֵרוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ. יטוְיוֹסֵף בַּעְלָהּ אִישׁ צַדִּיק וְלֹא אָבָה לְתִתָּהּ לְחֶרְפָּה וְחָשַׁב אֲשַׁלְּחֶנָּה בַּסָּתֶר. כהוּא חשֵׁב כָּזֹאת וְהִנֵּה מַלְאַךְ יהוה נִרְאָה אֵלָיו בַּחֲלוֹם וַיֹּאמַר יוֹסֵף בֶּן דָּוִד אַל תִּירָא מִקַּחַת אֵת מִרְיָם אִשְׁתֶּךָ כִּי הַנּוֹצָר בְּקִרְבָּה מֵרוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ הוּא. כאוְהִיא יֹלֶדֶת בֵּן וְקָרָאתָ אֶת שְׁמוֹ יֵשׁוּעַ כִּי הוּא יוֹשִׁיעַ אֶת עַמּוֹ מֵחַטֹּאתֵיהֶם. כבוְכָל זֹאת הָיְתָה לְמַלֹאת אֶת דְּבַר יהוה אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר בְּיַד הַנָּבִיא לֵאמֹר׃ כגהִנֵּה הָעַלְמָה הָרָה וְיֹלֶדֶת בֵּן וְקָרְאוּ שְׁמוֹ עִמָּנוּאֵל אֲשֶׁר פֵּרוּשׁוֹ הָאֵל עִמָּנוּ. כדוַיִּיקַץ יוֹסֵף מִשְׁנָתוֹ וַיַּעַשׂ כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּהוּ מַלְאַךְ יהוה וַיֶּאֱסֹף אֶת אִשְׁתּוֹ אֶל בֵּיתוֹ׃ כהוְלֹא יְדָעָהּ עַד כִּי יָלְדָה בֵּן אֶת בְּכוֹרָהּ וַיִּקְרָא אֶת שְׁמוֹ יֵשׁוּעַ.
