1Then some P’rushim and Sofrim from Yerushalayim came up to Yeshua, saying, 2“Why do your Talmidim disregard the customs of the elders, and they do not wash their hands when they eat food?” 3Yeshua answered and said to them, “Why do you also disregard the mitzvah of Elohim on account of your customs? 4For Elohim said, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘whoever curses his father and his mother, let him die the death.’ 5But you say, ‘Whoever says to a father or to a mother, ‘Whatever you may be benefited from me is Korbani,’ he need not honor his father or his mother.’ 6So you have rendered useless the D’var Elohim for the sake of your customs. 7O you hypocrites, Yesha-Yahu HaNavi well prophesied concerning you and said, 8‘This people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far away from me. 9And they worship me in vain, when they teach the doctrines of men as mitzvot.”
10Then He called the people and said to them, “Listen and understand. 11It is not what enters into the mouth which defiles man; but what goes out of the mouth, that is what defiles man.” 12Then His Talmidim came up and said to Him, “Do you know that the P’rushim who heard this saying were offended?” 13But He answered and said to them, “Every plant that Avi Sh’baShamayim did not plant shall be uprooted. 14Leave them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if the blind lead around the blind, both will fall into a pit.” 15And Shimon Kefa answered and said to Him, “My Adon, explain this mashal to us.” 16And He said to them, “Even yet do you not understand? 17Do you not know that what enters into the mouth goes into the stomach, and there, through the intestines, is cast out? 18But what comes out of the mouth comes out from the heart; and that is what defiles man. 19For from the heart come out evil thoughts, such as fornication, murder, adultery, theft, false witness, blasphemy. 20It is
these that defile man; but if a man should eat when his hands are unwashed, he will not be defiled.”
21And Yeshua went out from there, and He came to the border of Tzor and Tzidon. 22And behold, a Kena’anit from these borders came out crying aloud, and saying, “Have mercy on me, O My Adon, Ben David; my daughter is seriously vexed by a demon.” 23But He did not answer her. And His Talmidim came up to Him and urged Him, saying, “Dismiss her, for she keeps crying aloud after us.” 24And He answered and said to them, “I am not sent except to the sheep which went astray from Beit Yisra’el.” 25But she came and worshipped Him, and said, “My Adon, help me.” 26Yeshua said to her, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” 27But she said “Yes, My Adon, even the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ tables, and they live.” 28Then Yeshua said to her, “O woman, your Emunah is great; let it be to you as you wish”; and her daughter was healed from that very hour.
29And Yeshua departed from there, and He came toward the sea of the Galil; and He went up to a mountain and sat down there. 30And a great many people came to Him, who had with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at the feet of Yeshua, and He healed them. 31So that the people wondered, to see the mute speaking, and the maimed healed, and the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they praised Elohei Yisra’el.
32Yeshua then called His Talmidim and said to them, “I have mercy for this people, for they have remained with me three days, and they have nothing to eat; and if I dismiss them fasting, they might faint on the way; but this I do not wish to do.” 33His Talmidim said to Him, “Where can we get bread in this desolate place to feed all this people?” 34Yeshua said to them, “How many loaves of bread have you?” They said to Him, “Seven, and a few small fish.” 35So He ordered the people to sit on the ground. 36Then He took the seven loaves of bread and the fish, and gave thanks, and He broke them, and gave to His Talmidim, and the Talmidim gave them to the people. 37And all of them did eat and were satisfied; and they took up of the fragments that were left over, seven full baskets. 38And those who did eat were four thousand men, besides women and children. 39And when He had dismissed the people, He went up to the boat and came to the border of Magdo.
אאָז בָּאוּ אֶל יֵשׁוּעַ הַסּוֹפְרִים וְהַפְּרוּשִׁים אֲשֶׁר מִירוּשָׁלָיִם. בוַיֹּאמְרוּ מַדּוּעַ תַּלְמִידֶיךָ עֹבְרִים אֵת מָסֹרֶת הַזְּקֵנִים כִּי אֵינָם רוֹחֲצִים יְדֵיהֶם כַּאֲשֶׁר הֵם אוֹכְלִים לֶחֶם. גוַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם מַדּוּעַ גַּם אַתֶּם עֹבְרִים אֶת מִצְוַת אֱלֹהִים לְמַעַן מָסָרְתְּכֶם. דכִּי הָאֱלֹהִים צִוָּה לֵאמֹר כַּבֵּד אֶת אָבִיךָ וְאֶת אִמֶּךָ וּמְקַלֵּל אָבִיו וְאִמּוֹ מוֹת יוּמָת. הוְאַתֶּם אֹמְרִים הָאֹמֵר לְאָבִיו וּלְאִמּוֹ קָרְבָּנִי מַה שֶּׁתֵּהָנֶה מִמֶּנִּי אֵינוֹ חַיָּב בְּכִבּוּד אָבִיו וְאִמּוֹ. ווּבִטַּלְתֶּם אֶת דְּבַר הָאֱלֹהִים לְמַעַן מָסָרְתְּכֶם. זמַעֲמִידֵי פָּנִים הֵיטֵב נִבָּא עֲלֵיכֶם יְשַׁעְיָהוּ הַנָּבִיא לֵאמֹר, חהָעָם הַזֶּה בִּשְׂפָתָיו הוּא מְכַבְּדֵנִי, אַךְ לִבָּם רָחוֹק מְאֹד מִמֶּנִּי. טוְלַשָּׁוְא יְרֵאִים אוֹתִי, בְּלַמְּדָם לִמּוּדֵי מִצְווֹת שֶׁל בְּנֵי אָדָם.
יוַיִּקְּרָא אֶל הָעָם וַיֹּאמֶר לָהֶם שִׁמְעוּ וְהָבִינוּ. יאלֹא הַנִּכְנָס אֶל הַפֶּה יְטַמֵּא אֶת הָאָדָם כִּי אִם הַיּוֹצֵא מִן הַפֶּה הוּא מְטַמֵּא אֶת הָאָדָם. יבוַיִגְּשׁוּ אֵלָיו תַּלְמִידָיו וַיֹּאמְרוּ הֲיָדַעְתָּ כִּי הַפְּרוּשִׁים שָׁמְעוּ אֶת הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה וַיִּכָּשְׁלוּ בוֹ. יגוַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמַר כָּל מַטָּע אֲשֶׁר לֹא נָטַע אָבִי שֶׁבַּשָׁמַיִם עָקוֹר יֵעָקֵר. ידהַנִּיחוּ אוֹתָם מַדְרִיכִים עִוְרִים הֵמָּה לַעִוְרִים וְכִי יַדְרִיךְ עִוֵּר אֶת הָעִוֵּר וְנָפְלוּ שְׁנֵיהֶם אֶל הַבּוֹר. טווַיַּעַן שִׁמְעוֹן כֵּיפָא וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו אֲדֹנִי בָּאֵר לָנוּ אֶת הַמָּשָׁל הַזֶּה. טזוַיֹּאמֶר יֵשׁוּעַ אַף אַתֶּם עַד עַתָּה אֵינְכֶם מְבִינִים. יזהַעוֹד לֹא תֵדְעוּ כִּי כָל הַבָּא אֶל הַפֶּה יוֹרֵד לַבֶּטֶן וּמִשָּׁם בַּטִּהוּר מֻטָּל הַחוּצָה. יחאֲבָל הַיּוֹצֵא מִן הַפֶּה יוֹצֵא מִן הַלֵּב וְהוּא מְטַמֵּא אֶת הָאָדָם. יטכִּי מִן הַלֵּב יוֹצְאוֹת מַחְשְׁבוֹת רָעוֹת, נִאוּף, רֶצַח, זְנוּת, גְּנֵבָה, עֵדוּת שֶׁקֶר, גִּדּוּף. כאֵלֶּה אֲבָל אִם אִישׁ יֹאכַל וְיָדָיו אֵינָן רְחוּצוֹת לֹא תְּטַמֵּא אֹתוֹ.
כאוַיֵּצֵא יֵשׁוּעַ מִשָׁם וַיָּסַר אֶל גְּלִילוֹת צוֹר וְצִידוֹן. כבוְהִנֵּה אִשָׁה כְנַעֲנִית יֹצֵאת מִן הַגְּבוּלוֹת הָהֵם וַתִּצְעַק אֵלָיו לֵאמֹר חָנֵּנִי אֲדֹנִי בֶן דָּוִד כִּי בִתִּי מְטֻלְטֶלֶת קָשׁוֹת עַל יְדֵי שֵׁד. כגוְלֹא עָנָה אֹתָהּ דָּבָר וַיִּגְּשׁוּ תַלְמִידָיו וַיְבַקְשׁוּ מִמֶּנּוּ לֵאמֹר שַׁלְּחֶהָ כִּי צֹעֶקֶת הִיא אַחֲרֵינוּ. כדוַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמַר לֹא שֻׁלַּחְתִּי בִּלְתִּי אֶל הַצֹּאן אֲשֶׁר תָּעוּ מִבֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל. כהוְהִיא בָאָה וַתִּשְׁתַּחוּ לוֹ וַתֹּאמַר אֲדֹנִי עָזְרֵנִי. כווַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמַר לֹא טוֹב לָקַחַת אֶת לֶחֶם הַבָּנִים וּלְהַשְׁלִיכוֹ לִפְנֵי הַכְּלָבִים. כזוַתֹּאמַר כֵּן אֲדֹנִי אֶפֶס כִּי גַם הַכְּלָבִים יֹאכְלוּ מִן הַפֵּרוּרִים הַנֹּפְלִים מֵעַל שֻׁלְחַן אֲדֹנֵיהֶם וְחַיִּים. כחוַיַּעַן יֵשׁוּעַ וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלֶיהָ אִשָׁה רַבָּה אֱמוּנָתֵךְ יְהִי לָךְ כִּרְצוֹנֵךְ וַתֵּרָפֵא בִתָּהּ מִן הַשָׁעָה הַהִיא.
כטוַיַּעֲבֹר יֵשׁוּעַ מִשָׁם וַיָּבֹא אֶל יָם הַגָּלִיל וַיַּעַל הָהָרָה וַיֵּשֶׁב שָׁם. לוַיָּבֹאוּ אֵלָיו הֲמוֹן עַם רָב וְעִמָּהֶם פִּסְחִים עִוְרִים אִלְּמִים וְנָכִים וְרַבִּים אֲחֵרִים וַיַּפִּילוּם לְרַגְלֵי יֵשׁוּעַ וַיִּרְפָּאֵם. לאוַיִּתְמְהוּ הָעָם בִּרְאוֹתָם אֶת הָאִלְּמִים מְדַבְּרִים וְהַקִּטְּעִים בְּרִיאִים וְהַפִּסְחִים מְהַלְּכִים וְהַעִוְרִים רֹאִים וַיְשַׁבְּחוּ אֶת אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל.
לבוַיִּקְרָא יֵשׁוּעַ אֶל תַּלְמִידָיו וַיֹּאמַר נִכְמְרוּ רַחֲמַי עַל הָעָם כִּי זֶה עָמְדָם עִמָּדִי שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים וְאֵין לָהֶם מַה לֶּאֱכֹל וְאֵינֶנִּי חָפֵץ לְשַׁלְּחָם צָמִים פֶּן יִתְעַלְּפוּ בַּדָּרֶךְ. לגוַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלָיו הַתַּלְמִידִים מֵאַיִן לָנוּ בַּמִדְבָּר דֵּי לֶחֶם לְהַשְׂבִּיעַ אֶת הָמוֹן רַב כָּזֶה. לדוַיֹּאמֶר יֵשׁוּעַ אֲלֵיהֶם כַּמָּה לְחָמִים יֵשׁ לָכֶם וַיֹּאמְרוּ שֶׁבַע וּמְעַט דָּגִים קְטַנִּים. להוַיְצַו אֶת הֲמוֹן הָעָם לְהָסֵב עַל הָאָרֶץ. לווַיִּקַּח אֶת שִׁבְעַת הַלְּחָמִים וְאֵת הַדָּגִים וַיְבָרֶךְ וּבָצַע וַיִּתֵּן אֶל הַתַּלְמִידִים וְהַתַּלְמִידִים נָתְנוּ לָעָם. לזוַיֹּאכְלוּ כֻלָּם וַיִּשְׂבָּעוּ וַיִּשְׂאוּ מִן הַפְּתוֹתִים הַנּוֹתָרִים שִׁבְעָה סַלִּים מְלֵאִים. לחוְהָאֹכְלִים אַרְבַּעַת אֲלָפִים אִישׁ מִלְּבַד נָשִׁים וִילָדִים. לטוַיְשַׁלַּח אֶת הָעָם וַיֵּרֶד בָּאֳנִיָה וַיָּבֹא לִתְחוּם מַגְדּוֹ.
