1In the beginning was HaDavar, and He, HaDavar, was within the form of Elohim, and Elohim was He, HaDavar. 2The same was in the beginning within the form of Elohim. 3Everything came to be by His hands; and without Him not even one thing that was created came to be. 4The life was in Him, and that life is the light of mankind. 5And the same light shines into the darkness, and the darkness does not overcome it.
6There was a man sent from Elohim whose name was Yokhanan. 7He came as a witness to testify concerning the light, so that every man might believe by means of Him. 8He was not the light, but a witness to testify concerning the light. 9He was the Light of Truth which lighted every man who came into the world. 10He was in the world and the world was under His hand, and yet the world knew Him not. 11He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12But those who received Him, to them He gave authority to become B’nei Elohim, to those who firmly trusted in His Name, 13those who are not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but born of Elohim. 14And HaDavar became a Body and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, a glory like that of the first-born of Ha’Av, full of compassion and truth.
15Yokhanan witnessed concerning Him and cried and said, “This is the one of whom I said ‘He is coming after me, and yet He is ahead of me, because He was before me.’” 16And of his fullness we have all received, compassion upon compassion. 17For the Torah was given by Moshe, and truth and compassion came into being by Yeshua HaMashi’akh. 18No man has ever seen Elohim; but the first-born of Elohim, who is in the bosom of His Father, He has declared Him.
19This is the testimony of Yokhanan, when the Y’hudim sent to him Kohanim and Levi’im from Yerushalayim to ask him, “Who are you?” 20And he confessed and did not deny it, but he declared, “I am not the Mashi’akh.” 21Then they asked him again, “What then? Are you Eli-Yahu?” And he said, “I am not.” “Are you a Navi?” And he said, “No.” 22Then they said to him, “Who are you, so that we may give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say concerning yourself?” 23He said, “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Straighten the highway of יהוה ,’ as Yesha-Yahu HaNavi said.” 24Those who were sent were from the P’rushim. 25And they asked him, saying to him, “Why then do you immerse, if you are not the Mashi’akh, nor Eli-Yahu, nor a navi?” 26Yokhanan answered, saying to them, “I immerse with water; but among you stands one whom you do not know; 27this is the one who comes after me and is ahead of me, the one even the straps of whose sandals I am not good enough to loosen.” 28These things happened in Beit Anya at the Yarden crossing, where Yokhanan was immersing.
29The next day Yokhanan saw Yeshua coming to him, and he said, “Behold, Seh HaElohim, who takes away the sin of the world! 30This is the one of whom I said, ‘the man who comes after me is yet ahead of me, because He was before me.’ 31And I did not know Him; but that He might be made known to Yisra’el, I came to immerse with water.” 32And Yokhanan testified, saying, “I saw HaRu’akh descending from the heavens like a dove, and it rested upon Him. 33And yet I did not know Him; but He who sent me to immerse with water said to me, ‘The one upon whom you see HaRu’akh descending and resting, He is the one who will immerse with The Ru’akh HaKodesh.’ 34And I saw and testified that this is Ben HaElohim.” 35The next day Yokhanan was standing with two of His Talmidim; 36and he looked at Yeshua while He walked, and said, “Behold, Seh HaElohim!”
37And when he said it, two of His Talmidim heard it, and they went after Yeshua. 38And Yeshua turned around and saw them following Him, and He said to them, “What do you want?” They said to Him, “Rabbi, where do you live?” 39He said to them, “Come, and you will see.” And they came and saw where He stayed, and they remained with Him that day; and it was about the tenth hour. 40One of them who heard Yokhanan and followed Yeshua was Andrai, the brother of Shimon. 41He saw his brother Shimon first, and said to him, “We have found the Mashi’akh.” 42And he brought him to Yeshua. And Yeshua looked at him and said, “You are Shimon Ben Yonah; you will be called Kefa.”
43The next day Yeshua wanted to leave for the Galil, and He found Filipos and said to him, “Follow me.” 44Now Filipos was from Beit Tza’ida, the city of Andrai and Shimon. 45Filipos found Netan’el, and said to him, “This is the one concerning whom Moshe wrote in the Torah and the Nevi’im, we have found Him! It is Yeshua Ben Yosef; He is from Natzrat.” 46Netan’el said to him, “Can anything good come out of Natzrat?” Filipos said to him, “Come, and you will see.” 47Yeshua saw Netan’el coming to Him and He said of him, “Behold, a true son of Yisra’el, in whom there is no guile!”
48Netan’el said to him, “How do you know me?” Yeshua said to him, “Even before Filipos called you, while you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49Netan’el answered, saying to Him, “Rabbi, you are Ben HaElohim, you are Melekh Yisra’el.” 50Yeshua said to him, “Do you believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree? You shall see greater things than these.” 51He said to him, “Amein, amein, I say to all of you, that from now on you will see Heaven opened and the Malakhim of Elohim ascending and descending to Ben HaAdam.”
אבְּרֵאשִׁית הָיָה הַדָּבָר, וְהוּא הַדָּבָר הָיָה אֵצֶל הָאֱלֹהִים, וֵאלֹהִים הָיָה הוּא הַדָּבָר. בהַלָּה הָיָה בְּרֵאשִׁית אֵצֶל הָאֱלֹהִים. גהַכֹּל עַל יָדוֹ נִהְיָה, וּבִלְעָדָיו אַף לֹא אֶחָד נִהְיָה אֲשֶׁר נִהְיָה. דבּוֹ הָיוּ הַחַיִּים, וְהַחַיִּים הֵם אוֹר בְּנֵי הָאָדָם. וְהוּא הָאוֹר בַּחֹשֶׁךְ מֵאִיר, וְהַחֹשֶׁךְ לֹא הִשִּׂיגוֹ.
