1Shir HaMa’alot. When יהוה brought back those that returned to Tzion, we were like unto them that dream.
2Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing; then said they among the goyim, ” יהוה has done great things with these.”
3 יהוה has done great things with us; we are rejoiced.
4Turn our captivity, O יהוה , as the streams in the dry land.
5They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
6Though he goes on his way weeping that bears the measure of seed, he shall come home with joy, bearing his sheaves.
אשִׁיר הַמַּעֲלוֹת: בְּשׁוּב יהוה אֶת שִׁיבַת צִיּוֹן הָיִינוּ כְּחֹלְמִים.
באָז יִמָּלֵא שְׂחוֹק פִּינוּ וּלְשׁוֹנֵנוּ רִנָּה: אָז יֹאמְרוּ בַגּוֹיִם הִגְדִּיל יהוה לַעֲשׂוֹת עִם אֵלֶּה.
גהִגְדִּיל יהוה לַעֲשׂוֹת עִמָּנוּ הָיִינוּ שְׂמֵחִים.
דשׁוּבָה יהוה אֶת שבותנו (שְׁבִיתֵנוּ) כַּאֲפִיקִים בַּנֶּגֶב.
ההַזֹּרְעִים בְּדִמְעָה בְּרִנָּה יִקְצֹרוּ.
והָלוֹךְ יֵלֵךְ וּבָכֹה נֹשֵׂא מֶשֶׁךְ הַזָּרַע: בֹּא יָבֹא בְרִנָּה נֹשֵׂא אֲלֻמֹּתָיו.
