1Shir HaMa’alot. “Much have they afflicted me from my youth up”, let Yisra’el now say;
2“Much have they afflicted me from my youth up; but they have not prevailed against me.
3The plowers plowed upon my back; they made long their furrows.
4 יהוה is a Tzadik; He has cut asunder the cords of the wicked.”
5Let them be ashamed and turned backward, all they that hate Tzion.
6Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withers before it springs up;
7Wherewith the reaper fills not his hand, nor he that binds sheaves his bosom.
8Neither do they that go by say, “The blessing of יהוה be upon you; we bless you in the Name of יהוה .”
אשִׁיר הַמַּעֲלוֹת: רַבַּת צְרָרוּנִי מִנְּעוּרַי יֹאמַר נָא יִשְׂרָאֵל.
ברַבַּת צְרָרוּנִי מִנְּעוּרָי; גַּם לֹא יָכְלוּ לִי.
געַל גַּבִּי חָרְשׁוּ חֹרְשִׁים; הֶאֱרִיכוּ למענותם (לְמַעֲנִיתָם).
ד יהוה צַדִּיק; קִצֵּץ עֲבוֹת רְשָׁעִים.
היֵבֹשׁוּ וְיִסֹּגוּ אָחוֹר כֹּל שֹׂנְאֵי צִיּוֹן.
ויִהְיוּ כַּחֲצִיר גַּגּוֹת שֶׁקַּדְמַת שָׁלַף יָבֵשׁ.
זשֶׁלֹּא מִלֵּא כַפּוֹ קוֹצֵר; וְחִצְנוֹ מְעַמֵּר.
חוְלֹא אָמְרוּ הָעֹבְרִים בִּרְכַּת יהוה אֲלֵיכֶם; בֵּרַכְנוּ אֶתְכֶם בְּשֵׁם יהוה .
