Tehillah 41 – תהלה מא – D'var יהוה , The Word of יהוה

¹For the Leader. A Mizmor of David.

²Happy is he that considers the poor; יהוה will deliver him in the day of evil.

³ יהוה , preserve him, and keep him alive, let him be called happy in the land; and do not deliver him unto the greed of his enemies.

⁴ יהוה , support him upon the bed of illness; may You turn all his lying down in his sickness.

⁵As for me, I said, “O יהוה , be gracious unto me; heal my soul; for I have sinned against You.”

⁶My enemies speak evil of me, “When shall he die, and his name perish?”

⁷And if one comes to see me, he speaks falsehood; his heart gathers iniquity to itself; when he goes abroad, he speaks of it.

⁸All that hate me whisper together against me, against me do they devise my hurt:

⁹“An evil thing cleaves fast unto him; and now that he lies, he shall rise up no more.”

¹⁰Yes, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who did eat of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

¹¹But You, O יהוה , be gracious unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

¹²By this I know that You delight in me, that my enemy does not triumph over me.

¹³And as for me, You uphold me because of my integrity, and set me before Your face forever.

¹⁴Blessed is יהוה Elohei Yisra’el, from everlasting and to everlasting. Amein, and Amein.

^אלַמְנַצֵּחַ מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד.

^באַשְׁרֵי מַשְׂכִּיל אֶל דָּל; בְּיוֹם רָעָה יְמַלְּטֵהוּ יהוה .

^ג יהוה יִשְׁמְרֵהוּ וִיחַיֵּהוּ יאשר (וְאֻשַּׁר) בָּאָרֶץ; וְאַל תִּתְּנֵהוּ בְּנֶפֶשׁ אֹיְבָיו.

^דיהוה יִסְעָדֶנּוּ עַל עֶרֶשׂ דְּוָי; כָּל מִשְׁכָּבוֹ הָפַכְתָּ בְחָלְיוֹ.

^האֲנִי אָמַרְתִּי יהוה חָנֵּנִי; רְפָאָה נַפְשִׁי כִּי חָטָאתִי לָךְ.

^ואוֹיְבַי יֹאמְרוּ רַע לִי; מָתַי יָמוּת וְאָבַד שְׁמוֹ.

^זוְאִם בָּא לִרְאוֹת שָׁוְא יְדַבֵּר לִבּוֹ יִקְבָּץ אָוֶן לוֹ; יֵצֵא לַחוּץ יְדַבֵּר.

^חיַחַד עָלַי יִתְלַחֲשׁוּ כָּל שֹׂנְאָי; עָלַי יַחְשְׁבוּ רָעָה לִי.

^טדְּבַר בְּלִיַּעַל יָצוּק בּוֹ; וַאֲשֶׁר שָׁכַב לֹא יוֹסִיף לָקוּם.

^יגַּם אִישׁ שְׁלוֹמִי אֲשֶׁר בָּטַחְתִּי בוֹ אוֹכֵל לַחְמִי; הִגְדִּיל עָלַי עָקֵב.

^יאוְאַתָּה יהוה חָנֵּנִי וַהֲקִימֵנִי; וַאֲשַׁלְּמָה לָהֶם.

^יבבְּזֹאת יָדַעְתִּי כִּי חָפַצְתָּ בִּי: כִּי לֹא יָרִיעַ אֹיְבִי עָלָי.

^יגוַאֲנִי בְּתֻמִּי תָּמַכְתָּ בִּי; וַתַּצִּיבֵנִי לְפָנֶיךָ לְעוֹלָם.

^ידבָּרוּךְ יהוה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵהָעוֹלָם וְעַד הָעוֹלָם: אָמֵן וְאָמֵן.
