1A Maskil of Asaf. Why, O Elohim, have You cast us off forever? Why does Your anger smoke against the flock of Your pasture?
2Remember Your assembly, which You have gotten of old, which You have redeemed to be the tribe of Your inheritance; and Har Tzion, wherein You have dwelt.
3Lift up Your steps because of the perpetual ruins, even all the evil that the enemy has done in HaKodesh.
4Your adversaries have roared in the midst of Your meeting-place; they have set up their own signs for signs.
5It seemed as when men wield upwards axes in a thicket of trees.
6And now all the carved work thereof together they strike down with hatchet and hammers.
7They have set Your Mikdash on fire; they have profaned the dwelling-place of Your Name even to the ground.
8They said in their heart, “Let us make havoc of them altogether”; they have burned up all the Mo’edim of God in the land.
9We see not our signs; there is no more any navi; neither is there among us any that knows how long.
10How long, O Elohim, shall the troubler reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme Your Name forever?
11Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand? Draw it out of Your bosom and consume them.
12Yet Elohim is my Melekh of old, working Salvations in the midst of the earth.
13You did break the sea in pieces by Your strength; You did shatter the heads of the sea-monsters in the waters.
14You did crush the heads of Livyatan, You gave him to be food to the folk inhabiting the wilderness.
15You did cleave fountain and brook; You dried up ever-flowing rivers.
16Yours is the day, Yours also the night; You have established luminary and sun.
17You have set all the borders of the earth; You have made summer and winter.
18Remember this, how the enemy has reproached יהוה , and how a base people have blasphemed Your Name.
19O deliver not the soul of Your turtle-dove unto the wild beast; forget not the life of Your poor forever.
20Look upon the Brit; for the dark places of the land are full of the habitations of violence.
21O let not the oppressed turn back in confusion; let the poor and needy praise Your Name.
22Arise, O Elohim, plead Your own cause; remember Your reproach all the day at the hand of the base man.
23Forget not the voice of Your adversaries, the tumult of those that rise up against You, which ascends continually.
אמַשְׂכִּיל לְאָסָף: לָמָה אֱלֹהִים זָנַחְתָּ לָנֶצַח; יֶעְשַׁן אַפְּךָ בְּצֹאן מַרְעִיתֶךָ.
בזְכֹר עֲדָתְךָ קָנִיתָ קֶּדֶם גָּאַלְתָּ שֵׁבֶט נַחֲלָתֶךָ; הַר צִיּוֹן זֶה שָׁכַנְתָּ בּוֹ.
גהָרִימָה פְעָמֶיךָ לְמַשֻּׁאוֹת נֶצַח; כָּל הֵרַע אוֹיֵב בַּקֹּדֶשׁ.
דשָׁאֲגוּ צֹרְרֶיךָ בְּקֶרֶב מוֹעֲדֶךָ; שָׂמוּ אוֹתֹתָם אֹתוֹת.
היִוָּדַע כְּמֵבִיא לְמָעְלָה; בִּסְבָךְ עֵץ קַרְדֻּמּוֹת.
וועת (וְעַתָּה) פִּתּוּחֶיהָ יָּחַד בְּכַשִּׁיל וְכֵילַפּוֹת יַהֲלֹמוּן.
זשִׁלְחוּ בָאֵשׁ מִקְדָּשֶׁךָ; לָאָרֶץ חִלְּלוּ מִשְׁכַּן שְׁמֶךָ.
חאָמְרוּ בְלִבָּם נִינָם יָחַד; שָׂרְפוּ כָל מוֹעֲדֵי אֵל בָּאָרֶץ.
טאוֹתֹתֵינוּ לֹא רָאִינוּ: אֵין עוֹד נָבִיא; וְלֹא אִתָּנוּ יֹדֵעַ עַד מָה.
יעַד מָתַי אֱלֹהִים יְחָרֶף צָר; יְנָאֵץ אוֹיֵב שִׁמְךָ לָנֶצַח.
יאלָמָּה תָשִׁיב יָדְךָ וִימִינֶךָ; מִקֶּרֶב חוקך (חֵיקְךָ) כַלֵּה.
יבוֵאלֹהִים מַלְכִּי מִקֶּדֶם; פֹּעֵל יְשׁוּעוֹת בְּקֶרֶב הָאָרֶץ.
יגאַתָּה פוֹרַרְתָּ בְעָזְּךָ יָם; שִׁבַּרְתָּ רָאשֵׁי תַנִּינִים עַל הַמָּיִם.
ידאַתָּה רִצַּצְתָּ רָאשֵׁי לִוְיָתָן; תִּתְּנֶנּוּ מַאֲכָל לְעָם לְצִיִּים.
טואַתָּה בָקַעְתָּ מַעְיָן וָנָחַל; אַתָּה הוֹבַשְׁתָּ נַהֲרוֹת אֵיתָן.
טזלְךָ יוֹם אַף לְךָ לָיְלָה; אַתָּה הֲכִינוֹתָ מָאוֹר וָשָׁמֶשׁ.
יזאַתָּה הִצַּבְתָּ כָּל גְּבוּלוֹת אָרֶץ; קַיִץ וָחֹרֶף אַתָּה יְצַרְתָּם.
יחזְכָר זֹאת אוֹיֵב חֵרֵף יהוה ; וְעַם נָבָל נִאֲצוּ שְׁמֶךָ.
יטאַל תִּתֵּן לְחַיַּת נֶפֶשׁ תּוֹרֶךָ; חַיַּת עֲנִיֶּיךָ אַל תִּשְׁכַּח לָנֶצַח.
כהַבֵּט לַבְּרִית: כִּי מָלְאוּ מַחֲשַׁכֵּי אֶרֶץ נְאוֹת חָמָס.
כאאַל יָשֹׁב דַּךְ נִכְלָם; עָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן יְהַלְלוּ שְׁמֶךָ.
כבקוּמָה אֱלֹהִים רִיבָה רִיבֶךָ; זְכֹר חֶרְפָּתְךָ מִנִּי נָבָל כָּל הַיּוֹם.
כגאַל תִּשְׁכַּח קוֹל צֹרְרֶיךָ; שְׁאוֹן קָמֶיךָ עֹלֶה תָמִיד.
